Omg, just unreal... Proth... I knew from RT he had been sick but I had no idea it was like this. I wish I knew before, you just never know what someone is going through, I feel bad for not reaching out or if we argued at some point recently on the forums. Hes been around forever and we did butt heads occasionally but I always enjoyed his viewpoint and posts. Even as a kid I envied how good he was at the game and how knowledgeable. It felt like some BLU club and we all kept up with each other for years on the forums.

As I got older and more mature I always try to keep in mind we are all real people and have cooled down with a lot of the personal insults like we used to do in debates. He was a huge benefit to the community, and one of the best Blue Mages the game ever saw. So much respect for him. I had only just talked to him in PMs weeks ago about the most benign things... sad how things can change so quick, even in our little community bubble here. RIP.

I never really interact3d with him but his blue guide was a massive help when I returned and started gearing my blue for thr 119 world. His contributions will never be forgotten and may he rest in peace

let's be blunt- a good number of us don't live the best lives, and an early exit is probably in the future for most of us. I do sincerely hope he was able to make the most of the time he had; its all I hope for any more myself.

Tragic to hear. Wishing his friends and family the best. He was a pillar of the community and a legend on our server. His guide was basically the reason I picked up BLU. Wish I could have known him better and hope he can rest in peace.

It’s really tough seeing posts like this and I feel for Proth and those who cared about them.

Life is so fragile and I still find myself taking my own time for granted. I’ve made a number of friends through XI who have made a true impact on me and I already dread the day that something happens to one of them.

That said, a small community like the one on Asura has had its influence on me and I truly believe -anyone- I’ve played with passing away would affect me. Tough stuff.

In the extremely unlikely scenario that someone from his real life is reading this, the well-wishes aren't just puffery; the man was a genuine pillar of this community, and we're all much poorer for his absence. As much as we are able, we grieve with you.

Having had the privilage to meet and play with Proth back in 2011 thru 2013 it was really a great experience. Although we dropped out and didn't communicate much post FFXIV launch he'd stil send me DMs from time to time over @BG and here.

Thanks for all the fun times to look back on and for having someone around in a time that was incredibly difficult, plus giving me a shot knowing I might have been a problem. I didn't know about his health issues until the thread here & BG made light of them.

My condolences to his family and friends. It hurts deep knowing people with a big heart to be stolen from everyone far far too soon.

Sucks to hear this. As someone who didn't know but shared a common passion I will make sure to live double moments of happiness today on their behalf. Let's find and spread that happiness today.
