Announcing the Next Version Update.

As part of the third round of upgrades to the Trust magic system, the September version update will increase the maximum number of alter ego points that can be allocated to each category. The update will also raise the level cap from 50 to 75 for characters created under the Free Trial.

In celebration of the third installment of Echoes of Vana'diel (Windurst: The Third Walk) being added to FINAL FANTASY XIV as part of Patch 7.5, FFXI is also introducing various events to help mark the occasion.

One of these events will be the return of the well-known "Day of the Shadow Lord" seasonal event, once again under the name of "The Shadow Lord's Dominion."

As part of this event, equipment based on the Shadow Lord's storied weapons will be available as spoils for completing the ★Rank 5 Mission battlefield!


Furthermore, as an added bonus, the Curator Moogle will have some Shadow Lord-themed items making their return.

* Since you'll need to increase your level and complete missions in order to take on the ★Rank 5 Mission, we're offering it on three separate occasions (this one, as well as once in September and also October) so that as many adventurers as possible can enjoy the content.

Please note that there will be no changes to the spoils you can earn from the battlefield on these three occasions.
If it's hard for you to complete the mission during this month, hopefully you'll be able to take advantage of the other two opportunities.

This ★Rank 5 Mission can be attempted by up to six players. Whether you're working together with your fellow linkshell members or taking advantage of this unique opportunity to team up with other adventurers, we hope that everyone is able to enjoy the content that we have prepared. To that end, we also plan to add new items to each event session that can be obtained from the Curator Moogle.

There have been countless items added to the game over the years, including some that were available via limited-time events that are not scheduled to return or otherwise only featured limited chances to acquire them. Therefore, we have decided to introduce this special opportunity on a trial basis to either make these items available again or provide an easier, limited-time method to obtain them.
The eligible items this time are the Shadow Lord shirt and Pungent Powder III. The Shadow Lord shirt is a t-shirt based on the Shadow Lord himself, while Pungent Powder III allows you to randomly change into a baby adamantoise, behemoth cub, or a dragon hatchling!

We are ready to announce the dates for the next round of Vana'Bout, an event that lets you combine forces with players from all over the world to earn rewards!

Various adjustments and updates have been made to the event in order to make it easier to play.

■New Changes
・The starting time is changing from 1:00 a.m. (PDT) to 8:00 a.m. (PDT).

・New daily and time-based objectives have been added.
・The overview of some objectives (listed details) has been changed.
　* There are no changes to the contents or difficulty level.
・Differences between the daily objectives each day have been minimized.
　Example 1: The following objective will be available each day of the event:
　　　　  　　Hunting, Kupo! (VBD)：Defeat the requisite number of experience-yielding enemies in non-Abyssea areas. Special Reward: 20 plaudits.
　Example 2: The following objective will be available once every two days:
　　　　  　　This Chain Shall Not Be Broken (VBD)：Achieve an experience point chain bonus of 5. Special Reward: 30 plaudits.
　　　　  　　* Depending on the timing with which you cancel an objective, the same objective may appear again after the previous one is canceled.

・The personal rewards lineup has been revised.
・New overall rewards have been added and some existing ones have been revised.
・The target value for completing 100% of the overall rewards has been increased slightly.

The total number of plaudits earned by adventurers from all of the game's Worlds will be tabulated and if it exceeds the target amount, the challenge shall be considered a success. The following are the available rewards for this event.

■Plaudits Goal: 100% achieved■
・Add an Ambuscade Point Bonus Campaign to the September monthly campaigns
・Receive 10,000 exemplar points or 10,000 experience points upon completion of Vana'Bout (*).
　* These can be obtained from the Coordinator Moogle in Mhaura (G-8). Remember to get them before they're gone!

■Plaudits Goal: 125% achieved■
・Add a method for acquiring a Demonic Axe from the Curator Moogle.

■Plaudits Goal: 150% achieved■
・Add a new Phantom Gem Campaign.
　* This campaign lets you obtain a Phantom Gem of your choice from the list of available selections once per Earth day. (You cannot select Phantom Gems that you already possess.)

A special collaboration event between FINAL FANTASY XI and Wizardry Variants Daphne will be held from Thursday, July 30 to Thursday, September 10.

In honor of this occasion, we are offering an Abyssal Mask to all of you adventurers out there!
* The Abyssal Mask is a piece of equipment based on the mask worn by the Masked Adventurer in Wizardry Variants Daphne.


■ How to acquire the Abyssal Mask
Each character will have the item placed in their inventory during the period listed below just by logging in. Limit one per character.

　- Players without any free space in their inventory upon login will have it placed in their inventory after clearing out some space and changing areas or relogging.
　- Note that players will be unable to receive another Abyssal Mask under any circumstances, even if they are still within the claim period or they dispose of their first one.
