I believe it's called Bomb Toss. i get maybe 2 hours a night of gameplay and i tried to join delve runs which took all of my time to get to 15/18 then i had to leave something about my daughter and her being needy wanting food etc.

People who do believe this is an accurate way to measure your power, will be the idiot runs you never wanted to join anyway, and ultimately wipe. FACT Usually the only ones shouting are #2s who are absolutely certain they are #1s. Fenrir.Camiie said: » Cerberus.Conagh said: » 1. I usually ask them first and then run with it ~ Usually only allow people in who I know or have seen personally so I know majority of group is decent. im gonna have to get my blu a chocolate ski mask soonish

edit: Lets be honest here...how often do any of you meet a leader who doesn't know gearswapping is a regular part of the game? Please leave your selection bias out of this and don't say "man I remember that one time I met a total retard in a group". For me I'm sure it happens in less than 1 in 10 groups I run with- more often you'll meet the occasional idiot member but I rarely see the people that bother shouting to be people that don't understand something as basic as gearswaps. This is why people shout for REMD weapons instead of shouting demanding that you have 5/5 R5+ Manibozho etc (Though I've seen JPs shout for certain accuracy values).
If people started demanding certain ilevel of weapons, that actually wouldn't matter as much (it'd be the same as now, basically), because for the most part, weapons do scale linearly except for that chunk of time where we had level 90 REMs beating the crap out of level 99 weapons, which, thankfully, it seems they're trying to avoid at this point. I'm actually glad that they're being more transparent with their intentions.

I'm just more imagining how FFXI will be a year from now rather than the relative non-issue PUGs will solely view this by at the moment. Imagine what ilevel 150 equipment could be by then, and how much of a hurdle it will be for new/returning players to reach the new endgame when everyone else has moved on. There was an implicit ilevel earlier in old 75 through pre-SoA equipment, but it was never really required to contribute at all in endgame throughout the past decade.
Guess just seeing it plastered on weapons/armor readily visible on a /check just feels wrong. My LS is still on the fence about SoA as is, and is still having fun with older content like Salvage 2.0. Once ilevel 130 gear comes out within the next several months, the playerbase will move on from current Delve/Skirmish/Wildskeeper Rieves that you still sometimes see and make progression that much harder. I just fear that is when this new direction starts to really separate the user base. This has been known through the official channels for weeks, so it's not a huge revelation or anything. Just seeing it now graphically in-game cements it I guess, and brings an apprehension for future content months/years from now. Dear SE,
If you REALLY want to put some stats and numbers on items, HOW ABOUT SHOWING WHAT THE ****ING STATS ON FOOD ARE?!?! -Sincerely, Everyone-sick-of-guessing. Behind "Storage in home nation ONRY!!" (good riddance), this is the major issue that's been plaguing the game from the pre50-cap days >:( I'm gearing all my jobs to have the highest ilevel pieces in each slot and throwing away the rest of my gear. Finally, inventory space again!
Only reason I can think of is that R/E/M weapons will retain their names when upgraded again. To distinguish the different trials results form one another, it would be easier to represent it as item levels.

Well, they will just bring the baseline up with the newer gear. Next update they already have new baseline gear planned that is comparable or slightly worse than SoA release Wildkeepers' Naakual gear and they will adjust the difficulty of the previous content to be easier/less time consuming as time goes on. (For example, decreasing the bayld required to get the entry KIs) It's actually easier to "catch up" than before with this newer system. I wouldn't be surprised if the stat inflation got so high that any 75 era pieces that are still good now will eventually get replaced, too. I'm now wondering more than ever what kind of new UI we're gonna end up getting... |
