So I went and changed to RDM, did /convert and *poof* my Windower disappear (crashed without any error message, just disappeared). Then I logged in again, thinking it may be the "shortcuts" addon (although my friend tested without addons or plugins) did //lua u shortcuts, then did /ja convert and it worked well. Changed job, back to RDM to reset the JA and then did /convert (without the shortcuts addon loaded) and *poof* FFXI disappeared again.
Any idea what could be causing this? We both multibox if this is relevat for anything. For now I will just use /ja convert if needed but it is very weird. My friend says any "/con-whatever" command crashes it.
Edit: Confirmed by another friend, he used /convert and *poof*
