RUN Guide Updated Please

pretty much this, I am not sure what exactly else needs be said. gear sets exist both here and BG. use the Runes that will counter the magic you are going to be facing, spam Foil, utilize your SJ spells. the concept of tanking in this game hasn't changed in ages, nor has there been much in regards to Job or gear updates that would warrant further "in depth" discussion since Empyrean +3 over two years ago.

Wear Adamantite Armor if you think you should over what's in the guides that are out. Agwu's is only good for magic damage. You can use Volte Pants and an Ashera Harness to tp in with Nyame and then WS in Nyame if you feel the need to try to do damage instead of tank. RUN has been extremely stagnant for a long time. The guides out cover basically everything.

RUN on Agwu is such a head scratcher. They blind folded and dart boarded that choice. Emp+3 is incredible for RUN but outside of that is the same old job. Helheim replaced Lionhart for the rare DPS instance.

Volte and Ashera belong on mannequins. This isn't 2016 anymore.

And lunge is awesome, love Agwu.

Convinced its just their soft-nerf of keeping jobs off gear that would otherwise fit/benefit them as a way to hold them back for others to catch up. I.e run stopped being on much dd-related gear post dyna. Shoulda still been on bunzi if it just had to be kept off gletis

Least it makes a good lunge/swipe set, and uhhh hands are an okay cure received swap?

Edit: forgot bunzi was loaded with -enm at base so maaaybe not

yeah RUN guides exist with empy+3 updates... nothing newer than that regarding gear. In terms of gameplay you need time in the seat and an understanding of encounters you will be up against to excel, which is just your own homework so to speak... can't teach that.

Agwu's head and body are also -enmity in the augs. The itemization of bunzi makes most of the pieces not very good anyways. At least Agwu's makes Lunge and Swipe very worth using.

I'm more upset that we didn't get a pet set and instead got RNG and COR on armor that are really not that important. Nyame path D or just be gimp on 3 different jobs that gimp up bunzi and mpaca. Gleti's armor is decent for DRG and BST without completely screwing everyone else at r30.

If you want a list to know which runes to use for enemies, I made this 6 years ago, and not much has changed since then.

Which Runes To Use? Gathering Info.

Let me know what suggestions you think need updating in the current one. I know I need to add some uses/sets for Adamantite armor with context for it, but haven't found time yet. o7

Bunzi's got a solid TP head, slightly less solid pair of tp hands, a strong pair of sird legs, and regen boots, all with DT and has some of the highest meva if i remember right. Aint amazing but ida taken it over agwu had not every piece been loaded with enmity-7~10.

As far as pets go, yeah pretty much. Pet focused set for bst/pup/smn(throw drg in there too, i guess) to free up augs/stat lines on the other mixed sets like gleti/bunzi/mpaca

OT but I really wish SCH and RDM were on both Agwu AND Bunzi.

SCH not having access to the Regen boots is quite a shame. Rest of the pieces would also be very nice (but probably not groundbreaking) additional options.

RDM not having access to Agwu is also quite a shame. I mean sure you can get similar MBB/MBB2 stats on Bunzi if fully augmented, but the base stats are so different and the final result is "okaysh" but still disappointing.


I dunno, the jobs pairing on Odyssey sets have always had some issues if you ask me, some of those choices they made were... peculiar to say the least. But this SCH/RDM situation in particular always irked me.
It's not like the world would've fallen apart if they dared to grant access to TWO sets to SCH and RDM, would it?
I mean c'mon...

Rdm will never get the best bursting stuff because rdm.

Sch not getting regen boots is a nod to whm more than sch. They already have a 130+ regen5, leave it alone.

RDM got access to pretty much all the non job-specific Burst/nuke gear previous to Agwu so that point is kinda moot if you ask me.

And your argument for the Regen boots (I agree that's clearly the reason) kinda goes both way.
Sure SCH doesn't "need" more, but SCH *IS* the healer supposed to specialize in HoT, and one more +10 Regen (at the cost of 10% duration) wouldn't really make or break, but if anything it would make sense from a game design logic.

RDM having a C+ in elemental is participation trophy at best. With gain-INT up and Agwu's they would be closer to 70~80k bursts without other buffers.

I was like who would want to use those SIRD legs? Certainly not WHM instead of Eber's pants. Took me way too long to figure out you meant for RUN because mornings. Yeah if they didn't all have -enmity it would have been a really good fit. The regen feet would have been really solid.

I really wish they had put the PDL on the hands instead of the body. It's a shame that it gets almost completely wasted because of itemization.

Side note but uhhhh

If you're having trouble with RUN pulling hate on Bumba when using Rayke/Gambit/runes...having a set of -enmity gear is pretty nice. Just sayin'

Agree with volte. Don't think any DD tp peice is better for RUN then Ashera though. I would still recommend it for hybrid tanking. K bye.

Do it all over again, this time with specific scenarios for every v25 fight and master trial. Plus footage of clears or we cant trust your opinions!

Times when I said to myself "gee I wish I could do some % more dmg on this fight".. slim to none. My TP set for trash mobs is some store TP rings/earrings, quad attack pants and Empy body for accuracy. YMMV.

Your lack of excessive specialty sets and not gearing every job like a 6 speed makes me sick!

the set by king kit/epic are great.

There could certainly be some tweaks to my sets, I honestly forget to update that. Sorry, I'll get to it eventually.
