Just chiming in to say that Windower uses the exact same flag. Can toggle it in Windower profile advanced tab.

So I found a new issue.
After this fix I get certain other weird issues. Mostly it's the F1 button that doesn't work. Other times it can be other buttons not working or simply giving me other results.
Like pressing the button b in chat gives me random numbers. Pressing the ALT button after the character is in focus fixes it. Kind of like windows wants me to confirm the window with ALT? Anyone else got similar issue?

Oh, boy... I stupidly applied the 24h2 update without even thinking it would break anything FFXI related. I use Windower and I'm a heavy multiboxer and now my alt-tab is all messed up. If I'm in one FFXI instance, I alt-tab, it immediately will switch to any non-FFXI window, without showing any preview. From there I can just alt-tab again and it will show the thumbnails for any other instance which I can choose from, but so many decades of muscle memory that "just works" makes everything super annoying.
I am not sure if I should roll back to the previous update or just start "learning" to live with it... it is very frustrating :(

Enabling the Windows key in Windower fixed this for me with the side effect that now alt-tab will always show a live thumbnail (which I can take or leave, as a feature).
I thought I'd be grumpy accidentally hitting the Win key from time to time, but turns out my keyboard has a toggle that just turns it off altogether for a "game mode" or whatever. Go fig.

After trying (and failing miserably) for a few hours, I now rolled back to before the 24h2 update and I am now happy. I also provided Microsoft some feedback on it, although I imagine it most likely go to deaf ears (but it's not like we are not used to it with SE doing the same ;)).
Any brave soul update windows today? Wondering if this most recent update has the same problem.

According to someone here any bug fixes will come two weeks after the security stuff, which was what this update contained. Lots of people still complaining, let's hope for the best.

I suggest using the free version of displayfusion. I believe it will fix any alt/tab issues you are having.
Apparently now Windows 11 is forcing me to update to 24H2, it's not giving me the alternative of not updating, just wants to restart now or to restart later. The latest in time I can choose is in 5 days from now. This is not good ¬¬
Edit: Just found the "pause update for 5 weeks" option in the Control Panel and went with it. I hope 5 weeks is enough time for this to be fixed for good :S
Edit 2: Meh, even if it said "5 weeks" after selecting the option and after 10ish minutes it just allowed me to wait for 1 week. Gah!

I updated and it didn't mess with anything. The fix still works.
Thanks. I use Windower, not Ashita, and the workaround (I wouldn't call it a "fix" :D) was reported to work in Windower as well, but I do use the Windows key in some of my luas and have done for a few years already so it will be difficult to get used to bind different keys.
The fix sould come from Microsoft, in my opinion, but happy to have a workaround. I may try it later. Thanks! :)
(Edit: OR I may be misunderstanding what "Allow Windows key" does, perhaps!)

Yeah the short r0 gets me disconnected, when it feels like it, if I'm alt+tab to a different window like chrome. Happens if I'm 1 box or 2 box

I had to revert my update, it kept doing weird stuff when I would alt tab from XI to anything else.
I had this happen to me recently. I had to roll back my version of windows 11. I also use the windows key for key binds so that wasn't an option for me. Am I going to be stuck with this version of windows forever now?
I turned off Game Mode and so far I haven't noticed the obvious black screen, freezing, and R0 that happens with it occasionally. But the day has just begun so fingers crossed.

I just logged in for the first time in months to this issue. I do not have it on windower with the windows key enabled. However, I've tried to enable it on Ashita with no luck. I remove all keybinds and I cannot find a place to enable it anywhere.

Anyone else experiencing issues where you're not able to use all keys after tabbing? Effectively multi-boxing now is kind of hard with F keys not working until I press ALT or CTRL again. I've been trying to just always press ALT after tabbing into a window, but sometimes it does not register and certain buttons not working.

It happens when I alt-tab, only sometimes, not always.
It's like commands from the keyboard aren't fully working, like the ALT or CTRL macros tabs are "stuck" on screen, and I can't do anything until I press once the ALT or the CTRL key.
At that point the on-screen macro disappears and I can go back to regularly use my keyboard for all sort of inputs.
Yes this is pretty much my problem. Alot of keys are not working as they should after tabbing in.

but if you mistakenly hit the windows key it will pop up and possibly ruin important things.. Is there no fix to this crap? They basically forced me to update because it keep popping up on the screen every 10 minutes, wth.
For me I had to turn the Windows key ON in the Windower settings to stop the alt-tab failing.
