Is the healing for 300+ one broken? I can't trigger it on myself.
EDIT: I'm stupid and didn't read "In Ambuscade". Ah, wonderful. I see that they took absolutely none of the feedback from Vana'bout 2.

We Absolutely crushed the goals so hard. We must've loved it. 10/10 would do it again - Everybody "never in my wildest dreams did I expect you to exceed a 1,000% completion rate" Offline

So anyone know a practical to deal with cloudy orb fight to clear the objective. This whole thing is already pudding me off.
<Team up?>
BST can solo wings of fury with some effort, if you insist. Tokimemofan said: » So anyone know a practical to deal with cloudy orb fight to clear the objective. Shooting fish can be done by a naked smn with a few meds and no particularly complex strategy. 2 naked SMNs can demolish it. https://ffxiclopedia.fandom.com/wiki/Shooting_Fish/Strategies#Summoner_Solo Nono, astral flow bloodpacts are the most useless thing in the game
... haha, oh wow. Who's excited to claim their Old toolbox for hitting 1300 plaudits? I swear, SE, one job.

This is awful. Again. SO much work for so little rewards. Hard pass. I don't think the intent is to make you evaluate the objectives, see the rewards, and decide it's worth it. If you are capable of doing the content, the only thing that might compare is the deeds because of time gate.
It's meant to give folks who are early game and don't know all these things exist, or folks who are sitting in town bored, a checkbox of things to do that'll get them a neat minor reward. Some people will find it fun to go out and do this forgotten content. If you aren't one of those, that's fine. If they have to cheese the goal or let us fail it, that's fine too. But, I still believe it's a positive for the game if it's getting people to experience long-forgotten content and reconnect with the game in that way. Offline
Yeah, some of those things no one did until Vanabout came along, like the expo battlefield thing at Delkfut.
Would these same people do it again? I know I am not. But will do the things I do anyway which are part of Vanabout. "the rewards suck and making us do things that arent sortie or gaol or killing locus mobs for 8 hours sucks"
then dont do it? No ones forcing you. Offline

That these objectives are on a clock (with daily change) kills the entire thing completely for me. If they were not on a clock - and up for the entire event time without any change - I would most likely go after them slowly. But time pressure, daily, no thanks. Asura.Certainly said: » But time pressure, daily, no thanks. 14 day event (15 if you're JP or stayed up late/woke up early) you can get 150 a day from rotating goals and 460 from non-repeatable goals Thats a total of 2560 plaudits, and the gold tier is 1300. Presuming you do all the non-repeatable ones (none of which are time pressure daily), that leaves you with 840 plaudits to get over the 14 days. The only pressure to clear them all every day would stem from some belief you need the VanaBout title. Offline
Seeing pixies in the present day zones for the first time in many years is kinda fun.
First day aside - there really isn't much of a clock...I think doing a single VE ambuscade in 24 hours isn't too crazy of an ask.
Some are more onerous, like the Heroines' Combat, low level BCNM, etc. but still a 24h window isn't exactly "time pressure" So hey, who cleared Chocobo Digging, Unlocking Seals 1, Heroines' Combat, or Swarm!? Did those get replaced with something new for day 2?
Because they didn't for those of us who passed on doing those objectives, which suggests that the fall-behind mechanic from Vana'bout 2 is still in play. Oh what's that, you can't/won't do an objective? Well then you can't have a new one, spend the day contemplating your failure. Speaking of Heroines' Combat, has anybody done the objective? I wasn't getting credit clearing the ??? rune. I also went back and cleared runes 1-5, nothing.
I could have sworn that you got credit the moment you defeated the heroines in the ??? rune. Offline
the only thing you fall behind on is the title. You don't have to interact with a single 30-plaudit objective to reach 1,300 plaudits in 2 weeks.

What's Swarm, can someone elaborate?

I don't want to do this for two weeks. I've got... not better things to do with my time, I guess, but things I'd rather invest my time in; ideally each day I'd look at the new objectives, say "fine, fine, if I have to, hell no" and choose the ones I like, but this setup means now I have to strategize. "Is this so bad that I want to lock this slot for two days?" There's no reason it has to be designed this way, and that is why I'm so upset about the whole thing, somebody made a conscious choice to leave it set up in a way that is hostile to players. I managed to complete the following objectives earlier:
Clear an Ambuscade (10 points) > Replaced by same objective Monster Rearing (10 points) > Replaced by same objective Heal 300+ Damage (10 points) > Replaced by At the Summit (10 points) Deal 500+ Light Damage (10 points) > Replaced by Treasure Hunter (10 points) Eternal Life (20 points) > Replaced by same objective The one's that were left uncleared remained in my list again today. |
