New games suck... or is it just me?
Oh, personal saftey standards ...
This thread is not being healthy to you, Mrs Chatty

So Tencent is basically bailing out Ubisoft while remaining a minority owner with direct control of approximately nothing? Seems generous. I guess it could be looked at as a vote of confidence after Shadows.

Pointing out AC:Shadows sales = meaningless lol

You just want to try to post something negative about the game. Instead of updating the thread on their stock price. Famitsu is as reliable as "three million players"

If the game was successful it would be very easy to find data, you know why? The company really needs to prove the game was successful. You and Alfania, man, I swear to God.. you guys must be high every time you come here. Especially since they just got a free bailout. Better luck on your next game. I dudnt know my fans wanted an encore

I don't play Ubisoft games. You are the only person who is high everytime you imagined I post something. Ubisoft have been crap for years, and the reason is because they have industrialized game production. Like a man that tells a funny joke in the pub and gets a laugh, and then tells the same joke every day for the next 10 years.
Ubisoft have created another company, and pushed all the important brand names into that (including Assassins creed). Tencent have bought 25% of that new subsidiary and so Ubisoft have in effect been forced to sell off 25% of their most important brands to Tencent. Tencent already own 49% of the parent company, and now they own a massive chunk of this sibling company they are creating. Tencent are like the Borg, they are slowly taking over more and more control of these big western companies, and every failure allows them to absorb more of the company and its subsidiaries. The reason they are doing this is because they have fully accepted the company is full of cancerous woke ideologues and DEI hires, so they are making a new company to push the Assassins creed brand into and hand picking actual skilled people to make the games now. This is pretty smart. RadialArcana said: » Ubisoft have been crap for years, and the reason is because they have industrialized game production. This is pretty smart. A few pages ago I mentioned how Hollywood business practices will push debt onto one entity prior to nuking them from orbit. This is very similar, they pushed all the good stuff to a separate business entity for an immediate cash infusion. I'm expecting the executives are about to sell off stock for a payday and then let the primary company sink into bankruptcy. It's common for there to be a fire sale of assets (IP) right before or after the bankruptcy filing to pay back the debt, this is a way to shield the more profitable assets from that process. This is pretty smart. It's the most logical choice for a business. Ubisoft employees are notorious for unionized strikes only because they can't accept entering office to work 3 days per week lol. I don't think you can't easily fire those people either, the power of union is too huge. https://uniglobalunion.org/news/ubisoft-workers-strike-france/ Meanwhile, in China tech industry some people enter office to work 6 days per week 12 hr per day. There is a big difference in work culture. It's most logical management decision to get rid of it completely. While keeping what's really valuable: the IPs. RadialArcana said: » they are slowly taking over more and more control of these big western companies, and every failure allows them to absorb more of the company and its subsidiaries. Imagine one day all of the big name valuable IP created by westerners are in the hand of Chinese, only because Chinese employees have longer work hours and therefore more competitive. That would be an epic story about the fall of a civilization..... “Chinese is more competitive” is a weird way of saying “chinese devs are putting out stuff the people want”.
BioWare/EA arent chinese companies and its well established that Veilguard, from a programming standpoint, is a well built game. The ***painted on top of that well built game was utter *** garbage that no one, other than the they/them/ze/zirs, wanted. I'll take Chinese-owned games made for gamers over American-owned games made for activists any day.
Carbuncle.Nynja said: » “Chinese is more competitive” is a weird way of saying “chinese devs are putting out stuff the people want”. Not necessary true. At least I don't want any of the same old copy and paste industrialized Chinese live service games that's just re-skin over and over again in the past 20 years. If they are going to start making console games, I bet it's going to be the same style mainstream console action game that re-skin over and over again like other Chinese live service games from the past 20 years too. That's exactly how Chinese gaming industry operates on the past 20 years, no reason to believe that'll change when they enter console game market. But Chinese production cost is low enough to use "mass produce the same re-skinned game over and over" business model. While Ubisoft has to pay western salary to mass produce the same open world game. It's just not competitive because Chinese does industrialized re-skin game productions cheaper. This has nothing to do with DEI btw, the entire entertainment industry isn't going to sustain expensive productions that's more of the same thing as before. But that's exactly what Assassin's Creed is, even without DEI. Every AC is pretty much the same game as the last one, in different locations. People will always want something creative and interesting. Ubisoft model of making the same game with different skin over and over only really works if you lower production cost enough. Afania said: » I don't want Afania said: » While Ubisoft has to pay western salary to mass produce the same open world game. TWO BUMBOKLAAT HOURS OF CREDITS IS YA CRAZY Most modern day movies arent even two hours long. Thats bloat. Thats too many cooks in the kitchen. And the game is still a sloppy buggy mess. Carbuncle.Nynja said: » BioWare/EA arent chinese companies and its well established that Veilguard, from a programming standpoint, is a well built game. Bioware games weren't mass produced re-skin of same game over and ovet in the past. Mass effect 1 is kinda similar to KOTOR1, that's about it. Starting in ME2 this series already has it's own identity. EA sports game is more or less the same, but sports game market is big enough to sustain that. Ubisoft is a worse offender on industrialized copy and paste productions than EA/Bioware both. Imagine waiting 1h 58m into a credits scene to be like "Wait wait wait, here's where my name is!!" just to see they typo'd it or some ***. lol
Carbuncle.Nynja said: » I'm sorry, I didnt know the video game development industry revolves around Afania. You might not want it, but SALES numbers tell us that there are millions of people who do want it. Huh? Chinese gaming industry is even more saturated than western gaming industry. I heard about Chinese gacha game cancel or shut down in beta all the time. A lot of them don't make money too. It's just that they haven't occupy the entire console game market like they did in gacha industry yet. So whatever they release is on the console new to you atm. If they ever start mass producing console games and release tons of same-y games in the console market, you'll start seeing the same thing over and over too. |
