My group and I have been running Sortie fairly consistent since its release, and I wanted to get some info out regarding our route / party makeup that has proven to be consistent and helpful for us. The goal of the route is to go 26/29 or 29/29 objectives, and 17k - 20k gallimaufry. We have consistently hit at least 26 objectives, with the 3 objectives we abandon being:
(1) B-1 > B-6 doors in order
(2) the C-1 door before killing in C; and
(3) Door D-1 > D-2 Opened fast

Party Composition
DD, DD, Heal, BRD, COR, BLU

Map & General Notes

  • Everyone should bring their own Sneak/Invis

  • 1 DD needs to Open Darkness SC for COR

  • If subbing in tank for 1 DD, Tank can go to Red Route (Ground Strike opens Darkness, PLD & RUN can use

Green Route

  • Accession Sneak + Invis is Helpful

  • Big Regen before running #B > #C is Nice too

  • BRD Needs to be fast on sleep if Corse in #C Charm

  • In #C > Consider skipping Corse until after NM so full party can kill and hopefully avoid DDs being charmed and murdering everyone

Blue Route

  • Sortie_Tank spellset needs: Occultation, Reaving Wind, Spectral Floe, Tenebral Crush, Entomb, Anvil Lightning, Silent Storm. Get at least 1 heal (Magic Fruit or White Wind) & fill in evasion traits + utility

  • Silent Storm is useful to lock down casting Fomors or casting skeletons / ghosts throughout the run

  • I Typically run this position as sub RDM for Phalanx, Fast Cast, Sneak+Invis, as well as Dispel pulling in #C

  • Pull for Acuex cleave: Occultation up, gather mobs & Dreamflower. Spectral > Tenebral > Entomb > Anvil > Dreamflower & Repeat. Rotate targets to cast on at least 6 mobs to proc chest objectives

  • Melee spellset = whatever maximizes damage AND includes sudden lunge

Red Route

  • DD Needs to Open Darkness for COR (Ground Strike, Steel Cyclone, etc.)

  • COR subs DNC for Waltzes to help spot-heal

  • COR uses bolters between long-stretches or before any split-up of the route

  • Skillchain killing in C appears fastest until all 6 parties members together, and then cleaving works from there

Boss Notes

Ghatjot (#A)
NO Water damage. That includes Reverberation & Distortion SCs. Fire Damage does significant work here - Tachi: Kagero can cap damage fairly easily w/o a GEO. Otherwise SB Spam works great. BLU can sudden lunge to stun-lock boss for most of the fight if kill fast enough.

Leshonn (#B)
Hardest mob in zone. SV helps here. Wind-hands means he can use Chokehold which absorbs buffs. Do NOT use retaliation on WAR or face death. Sudden Lunge does not seem to be effective. Pull to wall to deal with knockback.

Skomora (#C)
Easiest boss in zone. Can Cursna after the boss or spam throughout. Mob does range attack so care on pull. Knoockback & Bind is obnoxious but can stack up against wall to deal with, or just have Heal spam -na's & Erase. CAN skillchain this guy, or SB Spam. BLU can sudden lunge to stun-lock boss for most of the fight if kill fast enough.

Degei (#D)
Minimal healing in the fight, so have Heal spam opposite element of move used in order to blue proc (i.e if he uses Icy Grip, cast a fire spell on him). Careful of SC if he hasn't been procced, but more often than not our group just randomly SCs during WS spam and it seems OK due to our killspeed. BLU can sudden lunge to stun-lock boss for most of the fight if kill fast enough.

Final Note
I hope this was helpful to groups that are looking to route plan or learn Sortie for the first time. I am sure there are various ways to optimize this route further, and every group will ultimately look different. I would imagine any magical cleave could replace the BLU if route changed (Tank could go w/ BLU to Blue Route, while COR went solo in Red Route, etc.).

Forgive my sloppy BB Code formatting - not my forte. I personally have really enjoyed the Sortie content so far and strategizing, so throw this out and come up with the strategy that works best for your own group!

Awesome, thanks! I think the forum needs an Endgame Sortie section with this moved in as the first post.

Just FYI COR can easily do Leaden> Viper>Leaden for darkness themselves. Normally have COR solo everything in B.

We did try having the COR solo - and while I agree that they can solo it all in B, I have found that by sending the other DD with them they are completed faster and can arrive at the #D Boss closer to the time that Green Route & Blue Route (in my post) are arriving at the #D Boss.

The goal is to ensure that people aren't waiting around for others when you are considering the diverge / merge of routes. The faster the DD + COR can make it back to #D Boss, the less downtime of not getting objectives. Our group has been able to get to #C at the end consistently with 20-25mins to spare to full-clear that area, and I believe we can get it to 30mins.

Our COR did the same thing at start, but later runs the SAMs would help kill elementals by spamming jinpu while the BLU hunted down the obdella (if it wasn't found en route to A boss initially) and the porxie.

That is, until we stopped doing the event cause the droprate on +2 ears is complete bs and there seems to be no other reason to continue doing the event due to no monetary gain. Hopefully future updates will fix this issue.

Understood.

I was getting annoyed too til a friend of mine said Emp +3 probly gonna cost mega sapphires/gallimaufry (and maybe weapons too). So I'm stickin with it.

They need to change it so the 80k Galli purchase nets an Old Case +1. That'd get you a chance at an earring every 4-8 runs in addition to potential drops and would make it worth spamming the content.

As it stands right now you're less likely to get a specific +2 earring than to get Shinryu's drops.

Yeah... I mean, I thought the same thing, but with gallimaufry capping at 100k it only takes a few runs to "stock up".

Just a couple notes that I haven't really seen mentioned yet:

Skomora is actually Undead. Sepulcher works and it takes dmg from cures. It also ABSORBS the dark element, so def best to avoid that. Despite the knockback/bind being annoying, it seems absolutely terrible trying to pull to a wall as it just constantly spams the hell out of its ranged auto attacks, which have HUGE range (seemed at least 30+ yalms), eating up time that could be precious before it'll use Setting the Stage.

Asylum doesn't prevent Leshonn's Lightning Hand Stuns. I'm not really sure it's possible to fully resist even with proper buffs; it's pretty annoying. Perhaps would need like Resist Stun or Pflug. All Bosses' debuffs seem quite accurate even in proper gear and buffs. I'm not sure if Slow/Para actually affects them as well, but that's mostly from eyeballing, admittedly.

Not even fealty on pld works which tends to resist almost anything.

The majority of the objectives are not worth chasing down, that time can instead be spent killing more monsters in D or C areas after clearing the four zone boss's and lessor roaming bosses. We are getting 20K+ muffins by just going from zone to zone killing the bosses and any roaming NM's we see, we don't hunt them down immediately. After clearing the last boss we'll hunt down any remaining roaming NM's then proceed to clear our area D rooms and C until time expires.

We just do D objectives in the NW corner with the single party, and often Deleterious is there. then A boss, D Boss, C Objectives & Boss, B Objectives & boss along with the 4 NM's and exit with 15 mins left and 17k Gallimufry because this content is already boring :(

Multibox PLD COR BRD GEO BLU WHM

Hoping they add something to Sortie to make it a bit more interesting.

I made a walkthrough for my static that takes a similar path as the OP, but we split up at the start and have someone, generally the brd, run off to do the majority of the non combat objectives. The main group starts at Device C and grabs the Bhoot if it's close. They follow that up with a kill at Device C and then move to D for the fomors NM and D combat objectives. We've been getting roughly 13k muffins, 3 sapphire's, and 2-3 cases a run. We're trying to streamline it still, but we do pretty good. We do pretty much every objective and 2-3 main NMs.
