You claimed rainbow chests would allow the seller to scam the buyer without the buyer knowing they were scammed. Looks the new Sroda Ring is bugged, the "Attack increases with number of alter egos in party" has no visible effect (=> not changing the Attack value in equipment menu).
Calling trusts does not increase my character's attack at all. Checked while engaged, idle, doing ws... Can it be a translation error? Would it be Trusts attacks only that would be increased? Anyone else tested it? Thanks ! You'll know you've been scammed because you will not receive any spoils at the end. . . how is this even a debate? If you purchase the orb and end up out of party without receiving all the drops, you've been scammed. You may not know what you've been scammed *out of* but you'll certainly know you got the business.

Thanks ! the scenario where the buyer has no way of knowing wether the seller is a scammer or not is when the seller used his headstart to check chests for rainbows and there did NOT spawn any.
If there weren't any rainbow chests and the scammer thus didn't act on it, that means they didn't scam the buyer. It doesn't allow someone to scam the buyer without them knowing as you said it did.
if you gamble and the person you gamble with can take a peak behind the curtain befor making his calls would you consider that fair game or a scam?
Sooo... 144 Silver Vouchers just spent here.
24 Mars Orbs. If anybody is curious here are my results to share The Loud Thud frequency seems in line with my previous experience with Mars Orbs. But the Rainbow ones are additional Loud Thuds I would've probably failed without the system being up. Out of 23 Mars Orbs trade I received one back, the rest were juices or vouchers. Shichishito said: » if you gamble and the person you gamble with can take a peak behind the curtain befor making his calls would you consider that fair game or a scam? The call was already made when the deal was struck prior to entering and there was no knowledge of a Rainbow Chest being present. That would be a scam, but that's not a good analogy and doesn't match this situation.
This is more like if someone at a gambling parlor keeps an eye out for people with tons of money in their pockets, and only cheats against them. If it takes 10 guys before he finds one he deems to be a good target for the scam, he didn't scam the first 9 guys, only the 10th. Many rainbow chests have unimpressive items in them anyway, not like you won the lottery if you see one. Can still get garbage from it.
Got Crepuscular Knife from rainbow chest Venus Orb
it warms the hell out of my heart to see people getting shinryu drops on the first day of this, but not after several months of actual shinryu.
Some people said there's a rainbow colored mimic in the dats(which may just be because the chest model was reskinned for the rainbow chest, without the removal of the base chest's animations), how long until someone has the balls to try the brown chest after rainbow pops?
Also, after opening a dozen or so rainbow chests, they don't seem visibly different than any other kind of loud thud to me. Lot of voids. No reason to think that a loud thud is different when it comes from a rainbow chest or after the sound message. Asura.Aburaage said: » Got Crepuscular Knife from rainbow chest Venus Orb I got one from a normal loud thud, mars orb. If a buyer were intentionally debating with themselves to verbally cause psychological harm to a seller who then discussed with the buyer that he had intention to defraud his brothers girlfriends sister who then snuck a peek at the inverse of a squarely proportional trading system in defrauding management would that result in an unfair system for someone who just showed up to start thinking about it themselves?
The fact you’re all debating hypotheticals is hysterical. If anything you’re giving scammers ideas for how to scam. With over 600 kills of Shinryu, hundreds of hours of farming, and no Dagger or Cloak. . . I'm pretty damn salty. Many of us have a similar story. A lot of people simply gave up on Shinryu, and SE handed all the cloaks and knives that should have gone to the actual farmers to completely random people. Sounds fair to me.
Next thing you know, they're adding REMA to the Gobbie Box. . .
opened 8 chest, instead of 9th spawning rainbow it spawned a gold chest as Thud, so 9th rainbow Loud Thud is not gauranteed
The rainbow mimic isn't correctly textured, it's possible it can pop but I don't think so. Maybe it's there for system reasons and is a dummy dat.
I do feel badly for the people who legit hustled their way through Shinryu for the gear. You must feel burned.
That sucks. When has SE not burned people who took the time to put effort into something, only for them to ease the requirements later or literally give away those same rewards to random people who didn't put in nearly as much work? This is just another version of Bonanza. They don't want items only going to the few people, they want everyone to have a "chance" to something. Thats what keeps people subbed.
The orb I used I got mimic’d on second chest. Traded it in and he gave me a fresh orb…which I also got mimic’d on. Can’t complain at a free shot!
i've described two scenarios how the scam could happen depending on when the gil transaction is happening on the previous page.
1. in the first scenario it's negotiated that the gil transaction happens when the drops are in the loot pool. the seller can use his headstart to determine wether a rainbow chest has spawned (the peak behind the curtain). if NO rainbow chest spawned the deal happens as arranged. if a rainbow chest DID spawn the seller/scammer has options. he could disband to prevent the buyer from entering the BCNM. he could tell the buyer at the entrance that he changed his mind and doesn't want to sell the orb anymore. 2. in the second scenario the gil transaction happens befor entering the BCNM, this scenario still has open questions that determine if it would be possible to get away without beeing cought by a cautious buyer. if this doesn't render the scam potential clear enough i don't know how to explain it better. |
