Hide Posts
How plausible would it be to add a feature that allows a user to hide a post just for themselves? Just for something a person doesn't want to see, such as a movie spoiler or some kind of raunchy photo. A means to skip a post without necessarily needing to report it because it isn't breaking any rules. And without having to remember to mentally skip it every time you click on the thread.
A page on a thread is only 30 posts. Just wait a day for that thread to page.
Also once you've already seen it to know you don't want to see it, is it not already too late lol. I can understand wanting to hide entire threads but a single post is kinda silly, no? You're not wrong. It's not that big of a pain to skirt around it. But if it's not difficult to add such a feature, I could see it being useful for a few reasons.
“block” button

It's the whole user I believe, it doesn't allow them to post comments on your profile page, photos etc. I also believe you can't see their forum posts. :) ![]() Not impossible. I'll see how rough it actually is to do with the current codebase.
wow Rooks. you just went level 100 Necromancer with that one.
I wonder who's posts you want to pretend dont exist? lol... Blazed1979 said: » wow Rooks. you just went level 100 Necromancer with that one. And sometimes threads can go on for literally pages with argument-bait. If I scroll past a dumb opinion once, I can usually ignore it. But if I need to scroll past it several times, I get more and more tempted to throw my two cents in. It's not exactly going to create world peace, but I do think people could make use out of the ability to hide posts. |
