However, Mandalic Stab has a 75% boost to attack which means on mobs where you can't get to attack cap, Mandalic can shine. That really narrows it down to low/no buff situations and Odyssey Gaol.

Would never take thf to oddy. I have a Prime warrior and Prime Dragoon for that. It would be used as a solo weapon (htbf) and for dyanamis where I'm bringing it for TH. Even then, I'll be using SU5 for waves 1 and 2 for obvious reasons. It would be my wave 3 weapon. Again, not looking to win the parse. Just looking to be better then my current Aeonic thf.
You asked for a generalized comparison between Twash and Vajra. I provided that. I added some context of situations where even with the imo heavy advantage Twash carries, you might want to consider using Vajra for. Regardless of whether you would do those on thf or not.
In terms of use, Vajra is not really a spam weapon. You'll actually find more use going for AM3 and then spamming Rudra's instead of Mandalic. When I was using it, I could still never manage to catch Twashtar. Maybe I used it wrong, who knows.
I almost never frame a discussion about DPS around "winning a parse." That is reductive. For me it's always about comparing it to myself. I couldn't care less about beating that WAR over there. I do care about optimizing this option I'm currently trying vs that other option I was using before.
