FFXI's 20th Anniversary!

I'm not really sure which is funnier;

"after emp+3 don't expect ***for 3 years"

or the fact that people are "upset?" that they told you exactly what they've been doing for the last 3 years, only again for another 3 years.

Nothing changed, they're just telling you that it's not changing.

I thought not expecting much at this point was a thing, since they closed the last story arch.
correlating this publication to people actually quitting.... maybe other factors are at hand? like, idk, new games, IRL's , or coming to the realization that this game is 20 yrs old?
atleast people should be happy SE has not pulled the plug on the game, as other companies would had already discarded the game to another peasant company, barely surviving on someone's home brewed "vanilla" server, or continuing the game as a region locked "JP Onry" game.
And kinda nice Se is actually planning to do something for the anniversary, even if it will take 3 years.

Other companies be like:
"player base dropped 15%? other game is more popular than us! PULL THE GD PLUG!"

For the people who play now, most of us will proly only quit if we die or the servers go dark, were all kinda lifers giving our 20~60 bucks a month for out multiple accounts. Small tweaks are all the remaining really need, (although more story would be appreciated and gear is always welcome) if we were going to move on it would have happened already. Although I'm sure a few walk away, but that rate has slowed a lot over that past few years. I know for one, think I log in out of habit most of the time. lol Heres to a 20th party and a new lv 1 wand costume!

Will FFXIAH still be around in 20 years ?

I think underestimate how loyal the Japanese base for this game is. They seem to think that playing FFXI is a civic duty

And if anything mercs and bots on Asura will keep this game active for quite a while.

They ARE past due for it. Omen was winter 16, failnamis winter 17, "emp event" shouldve been winter 18 (but since dyanmis is such a garbage piece of ***, I guess they extended the wait on emp+3 to force dynamis appeal)

proving once again my favorite line, the only thing they're consistent at is being inconsistent.

I would lol if SE made a FFXI: Remastered in 3 years and it came out before the FF7 remaster they announced 3 years ago.

Hey, you're being generous here... FF7 remake was publicly announced closer to four years ago (June 2015), and likely started production in 2014.

But yeah, gimme FFXI remastered before FF7: Episode 1 XD


I truly can't wait to neuro-link into FFXIAH in 2038 to see you asking when MNK is going to be great again.

If I keep asking if monk is great again...maybe it will come true !

Or if it doesn't I'll just claim monk is great and end it.

Also 20 years from now we will surely have the fabled FFXIAH trivia game I've heard about.

some of us are quitting because of this *** HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE Bott scripts and spellcast, because its the norm now and doing ambuscade over over and over again is so much *** fun this game is an adventure not a *** WoW clone, wait.... wow is more adventurous now then ffxi nvm i take back my word. honestly the game feels like a mobile mmo with the automated bott option
