Good Morning all!

Has anyone revisited am3 crit set for gandy/arma since the release of unity augs?

I see some pieces with crit rate (lacking racc). But that sacrifice might be fine?

Thoughts? Ty in advance.

The two pieces of crit rate that I think are significant from unity are probably blistering sallet +1 and zoar subligar +1. Honestly, since I don't have arma yet, I haven't really looked at it a lot yet, but those two slots have some of your only easily obtainable crit damage gear in adhemar bonnet +1 and darraigner's brais. Seems like if you can get the crit rate elsewhere, these spots should be last to swap out.

I didn't know, for instance, does blistering +10 crit rate outweigh the +6 crit dmg from adhemar?

Kinda my thoughts as well. I have debated the Sallet+1 as RNG is blessed with a great deal of "Dead Aim" for actual +crit dmg, so I can see giving up something for a higher RATE. Although I'd suggest comparing results using Adhemar Bonnet+1 vs Meghanada Visor+2 vs Blistering Sallet+1.

I definitely think that the Sallet+1 is going to find its way into Jishnu's Radiance sets quite easily.

When it comes to the leg slot, I'm hard pressed to give up my two options (depending on racc needs)- if I have zero concerns about racc, its Darraigners' Brais all day. If I worry about it, I swap in a path C Adhemar Kecks+1 for set bonus with the Bonnet+1 (only time I opt for that over the Meg. Visor+2 for this purpose).

Totally forgot about Dead Aim on meghanada visor +2. Does Dead Aim have a weird mechanic for damage or something? I don't see how it would lose to Adhemar Bonnet +1 if it doesn't. It's 6% vs 12%.

That really depends on what your crit rate is already. If you're not critting, then yes, if you already crit then no.

Its just another situation of finding that balance of enough +crit damage (from either source, the actual named stat or Dead Aim) with a sufficient +crit rate. Remember that AM3 procs from Empyrean Weapons are not considered a critical hit, so +crit dmg/dead aim isn't very valuable if your overall rate is low. The Bonnet+1 becomes interesting when paired with another piece of Adhemar+1 to get the set bonus of "critical hit rate" paired with some +crit dmg.

This is what I was thinking. To give some context, I would only shoot for harder things. Like wave2 bosses or perhaps FU/OU. Otherwise I would melee.

That's basically my set, except two things:

I use mummu ring paired with the mummu gloves+2 for the set bonus AGI and a little more crit rate. Using that ring+gloves means +8 to DEX/AGI, so you're losing 2 AGI and the STP in exchange for 3% more crit rate. Its a sacrifice I'm willing to make during TP phase with an empy.

I also now use Odr Earring (from Domain Invasion) over Enervating.

The legs/head combo is the hard call as always. Certainly Darraigners'/Meg. Visor+2 would win for damage- when it works.

Thoughts on using adhemar gamashes +1 Path D for the set bonus instead of the legs so darraigner's brais are still an option? lose 2% 6% crit rate and 1 STP for +6% crit damage?

Edit: Obviously low acc requirement shooting with brais and adhemar feet.

I dont see Adhemar at all in AM3 set.

ItemSet 377434

vs Kaldaek set:

-22 ratt
-8 sTP

but

+26 racc
+6% crit damage
+3% crit rate
+11 AGI
+8 STR

Seems like an easy choice for me.

Also keep in mind 50% of the time you will be under double shot and your set will look more like this:

Im not really convinced to Oshosi Trousers in this set tho. Mummu still looks like a solid alternative.
Oshosi gloves are also interesting. I wouldnt take them for just +5% Double attack, but they also has 9 more STR and 26 more AGI. Also with 4/5 Oshosi and Relic+3 body, you are kinda reaching okish level of meva. I guess it would kinda depends if you are using Gandiva or Arma (Arma has 70 more AGI, which imo easily makes it a batter AM3 weapon) and if you are getting crit/agi buffs. Its also interesting what to put on cape AGI or STR. That Double Shot set is reaching ~420-430 AGI with Arma without AGI on cape. Switching to Oshosi gloves and AGI on cape would push it to AGI range that could potentially cap dAGI on even wave3 mobs.

Im looking for the best set. I haven't used either of them yet. Swapping in mummu legs/begrudging ring will drop you 13stp, idk if it changes x-hit or not.

Thanks for posting the double shot crit set. I was working on it last night with biglovin and that's pretty close to what my set ended up being (minus the weapons which will be more situational). Does the bonus damage to double shot also apply when triple shot procs?

tbh Im not a fan of Begrudging at all. That being said 5% criticla hit in this case seems strong for just white damage, but not sure if its also best for overall DPS if you count in WS. xHIT will be broken 50% of the time anyway because you will have 76-81% double shot chance and that will have a chance to be triple shot too with relic +3 body. Lastly with Arma its possible that WSing at 1000TP wont even be optimal, since Last stand has very good scaling and white damage will be massive (you already have similar situation on Monk using Howling/Raging/Tornado). So its probably not a matter of xhit, but more about if sTP will boost TP overflow enough that more damage on WS will overshadow white damage gains from crit damage/rate. I honestly dont know.

Thats one thing I havent tested, because I was missing body for a long time. I might test it today, because thats actually a massive IF. +56% to double shot damage is huge (keep in mind its not as good as double attack damage on WAR sadly, because double shot damage only applies to second shot/hit. So for example first shot will do 1000 damage and second will do 1560)

As you can see above, in capped range attack situation all range attacks under Double Shot are hitting for same DMG.
The Double Shot damage + gear is apparent when range attack is not capped. And from my experience, the third bonus shot when using the Arc Body+3 under Double Shot does tend to be higher than the second shot.

That's quite interesting. I was testing it with oshosi head and I was attack capped too. Is it possible that oshosi works differently?

pretty sure mask is just +25 base damage
and as far as not being attack capped, you're subject to variance on ranged attacks. that doesn't mean it applies more damage to the second and third hit.

I was testing NQ mask and I could make mistake, I'm only a human after all :) but I really don't think that 20 base damage was making exactly 20% more damage on 2nd hit, but maybe I used some low damage gun/ammo combo and 20 damage was also 20%, but I kinda doubt it. I will retest and I will apologize if it's really the case.

Ok So I did the test and now I know everything about this mechanic. Not sure what you did wrong Demhar (maybe you had midshot set not working properly?). I was testing this without gearswap. My results are quite straight and disappointing.

Ok lets start

First Relic+3 body and cape.



2207 is capped damage
You can clearly see that when double attack proc, 2nd hit is doing 2891. 2891/2207 = 1.3099 so almost exactly expected +31%

Now disappointing part:


When triple shot from body proc, it really becomes a triple shot (more on this in Oshohi mask part of test) and all Double Shot damage gear is useless...

Oshohi mask:
It seems to be exactly the same as other Double attack damage gear. It works the same and its % increase

I changed body to Tatenashi to avoid Triple Shot proc first and equipped NQ Oshohi Mask.



Like you can see my new capped regular hit is 2148 after those changes (it went down a little because I was using Malignance head before Oshohi, so pdl was adding a little)

With NQ Oshohi and cape I had total of "Double Attack" damage +40 And nothing surprising here. 3007/2148 = 1.3999, so again 2nd hit doing almost exactly expected 40% more.

Finally Cape + Body + Mask for +51% total and chance to Triple Shot:



Same result again
First hit 2148 and 2nd hit 3243. 3243/2148 = 1.5097, so again almost exactly expected +51%. You can also notice the same for crits, 5999/3973 = 1.5099

Lastly something that confirms Triple Shot proc really make Double Shot and true Triple Shot:



All +51% damage Double Shot doesnt work when Triple Shot proc, but "Triple Shot" Damage +10 from Oshohi mask activated on 2nd and 3rd hit. 2362/2148 = 1.099, which is again almost exactly expected +10%.

Bonus and most disappointing fact. Double Shot or Triple Shot damage doesn't work at all for double/triple shot with Overkill :(

EDIT: I mean this at least makes gearing for Overkill with AM3 quite easy. Just wear the same gear as with regular non Double Shot AM3.

I was suspecting that too, but this 4hit on apex bats looked like 2x double shot back to back, but I guess it was also Triple and you just have missed hits filtered out?

I was actually excited that maybe I was wrong about Double Shot damage after your post, because I would actually rather be wrong and have this working for all hits (I'm a fan of white damage builds), but sadly it's not the case :(

; ; there was probably missed shot on top of it that got cut off. I was screen capping from videos I take XD
hopefully more trip shot dmg gear would be available in the future
it would be very very beautiful to have beefed up trip shot builds!
