Our VD Hobo strategy:
Make a triangle with the 2 tanks and WHM at each corner. Let WHM die over and over by himself to never have to deal with the bomber. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Just cleared cleanly on VD (PUG)
PLD PLD WHM BRD GEO WAR PLD1 runs in and grabs Don BRD sleeps Incantor PLD2 takes Deathbringer away from group and PLD1 WAR grabs Ravager and pulls away from PLDs BRD WAR and GEO stack on Ravager while WAR kills WHM yoyos between stacking on the small group of three and separating from group depending on which add spawns from boss (baby bomber = separate, other one = stack) Kill order WAR -> DRK -> BLM -> RDM Would realllllly like a viable not-double tank strat before everyone piles onto the WE HAVE TO HAVE TWO TANKS strat.
Tanks are in limited supply and you start using 2 per run... they run out fast. Was first attempt with PUG so was playing it super safe. 2 PLD definitely overkill.
PUP works well providing you can keep it away from anyone doing any actions, as does any self sufficient job. The second "tank" only needs to hold until the first add is dead and then they are better off as a DD, DRK does use Break though so something to pre-empt that on w/e job you decide to use will be of great benefit (2 pianisimo earth carols can work well). ceinwyn said: » i was thinking dynamis jeuno? Tank RUN DD RUN x 2 (originally used WAR, SAM and BLU), all those jobs worked but DD RUN resists the status ailments that annoy us and waste time. BRD/WHM GEO/WHM <=== /WHM very important WHM/SCH <=== Dude is gonna be dead half the time, taking one for the team. Go in, right after BRD does NT songs they Lullaby II the BLM. The tank RUN grabs the RDM and rags them to the west wall, the other two DD's grab one of the remaining ones and drag them to the south east wall and south west corner. WHM stands in the middle and prepares to die, often. The GEO and BRD each babysit a DD and mostly handle status ailments like paralyze or petrify. When separated they are stupid weak, the DRK was hitting me for 20 damage a swing. The WAR hits a bit harder but nothing that's not manageable. Blast the DRK and WAR down then take out the BLM and by then our Tank had the RDM down to half health and we finished it off. Songs HM VM Mad II Min V, we experimented with double Min and our of our RUN's ended up under cap due to blind. Bubbles, Frailty + Wilt and Entrust Wilt on the Tank RUN. The GEO is with one of the DD's and the other just goes without. This will cause the first DD's mob (WAR) to die sooner and they just run over and help finish off the DRK. In theory you could coordinate everyone running around whenever it appears, we found it vastly better to just let the WHM take one for the team, over and over again. These mobs don't hit hard when they are separated so a WHM is overkill in healing but their access to four different reraise timers means they can just spam RR on themselves for the whole fight. havent watched the vid yet (at work) and havent tried ambu this month yet does the WHM need to take any action to become the target of the bomber? or just be central?

We're not sure, at first we thought it was cured amount, but Dap was still the target after casting Regen on Rua. We think it's anyone who does anything to the target of Don's enmity. So... if you don't even take a whm does the bomber not appear?>

In that video the tp move seems extremely slow. Is it possible to resist the bomb? At 3:35 Dapollyon only took 1500 damage. If he wasn't weak he could have survived that.

Dap doesn't seem to know what battlemod is or chat filters and I don't see anyone else taking 1500 damage at that point in the video. It sure looks like it was a resist of some sort. OHHHH its a different bomber! Different damage.

Being able to have rolls on this fight would drastically boost kill speed.
Someone do a run with no "healer" and see what happens.

Furious Bomber does 6k damage split between targets it hits. Baby Bomber works like Fullers and does 1500 damage per target it hits. Just did 7500 to my entire group. So just cleared VD, we had a wipe because our WHM was OOM and unable to keep reraise up, but think that's the only reason.
Setup was me on THF/RUN, then two scrub RUN's (non-mastered, freshly geared, etc.) with a BRD, GEO and WHM backline. Did the WHM sacrifice in the middle method. I had no issues tanking the goblin (the DRK) on my own, and almost got the ravager down. Wiped and reset and finished it up just fine. I'm fairly confident you only "need" one tank for the Don (if even that? RUN wasn't taking much damage it seemed like) and DD's can tank and hold the other goblins just fine. Support just needs to keep refresh+ballad on WHM and everything should be good. |
