Now we have had months of SMN zerg for ez aeonics and lots of mercs for it, so even aeonics mean nothing about having skill. I've never understood people who talk ***when they can't possibly be certain they're right. This is pure bravado as we've never played together. Hell, I didn't even know you existed until your raffle post. And this is also elitism that I consider toxic to a community. I suppose it's fitting that this topic was made about you. I was attempting to figure out a good way to test out your theory. I think a single fight, especially with hate resets and amnesia in current VD ambuscade, wouldn't work. So I was thinking maybe a full run of AA's/Gods in Ru'aun. Come any melee DD, no SP's, equal buffs for us both. What say you? Not getting involved with w/e you two have going on, I’ve just been wanting a chance to test my THF BLU and WAR Asura.Darian said: » Same old same old from the mods here. This call out topic is only associated with you because you made it obvious. And I'll re-install OBS for this and stream it if Darian agrees. I'm not elitist, but I would support the social hierarchy if I was on top.

The only real macho comparison of Pixellectual wits and feats is a Ballista match. But it must follow a certain, strict set of rules. And since I am the oldest-playing veteran NA with active Ballista Royale experience and a track record of wasting hours in that failure of an excuse for PVP, I hereby announce myself as Herald for such an event.
Fight rules are as follows. Location: Purgo Isle - Abdhaljs (Brenner warp zone) Both must come: MNK job No support job (will be removed at battlefield anyways) No job abilities, except three (see below) No running, no kiting Items restricted Level 99 cap Naked wearing Sacrarium undies, open chested torso (you can choose this one) No prebuffing food allowed (we will require an antacid used before the match starts; herald will provide) Only additional involuntary actions/prebuffing that are allowed: Guarding, Countering, or changing your merits before the fight. Since this game relies on random numbers, the only fitting way to prove who is the best is through random natural selection. Gear, Money, and influence has no authority in this match. It is, therefore, only appropriate that we use the randomness of Counter, Guard, Evasion, and h2h damage to determine the best of the best. Fight goes as follows: Both characters use the "Boost" Job ability. Activate Counterstance. After 10 seconds, run in and fight. You cannot move. You are allowed to use Chakra, once. Choose wisely. Whoever wins in an old-fashioned slug match is the King Great White Hope. This will prove who decided that Guard skill wasn't important, and is truly as a whole, a complete embarrasment to all of FFXI, as is the MNK job itself. This will be live streamed so our entire community can see who really is the strongest combatant, in a "King of Wakanda" styled setting. Would be truly epic, and you can't buy your way out of this one. Deal? Lakshmi.Buukki

Fight addendum:
Combatants may choose to use one weaponskill, if they get TP. This will be the only active change to the official rules. Race has no jurisdiction here. There is no innate advantage, just an excuse for those who are feeble minded and need a crutch in fear of failure. A fight to the death on the Monk Job, naked, subless, and powerless is punishment enough. Players may allocate their merits beforehand to account for any advantages they may need. Other than that, the fists will determine the victor. In this arena, you cannot bark, and then claim foul or unfair play. if you're good enough to call someone out fully geared where cash and character progress may give one or the other the advantage, this setting would hardly be any more unfair. Asura.Murisia said: » I'd like to remind everyone that when you started this game you were just like we are, and like everyone else. Everyone starts at the bottom. There are no exceptions, especially in FFXI. It doesn't matter if you buy your account if you buy your REMA's, your gil, your clears or anything else that you may need. You still have to learn how to play, still need to figure out macros, job style, gear, ja's, traits, combat styles, strategies and anything else that the game throws at us. This post isn't directed at anyone in particular, but more so at all of us including MYSELF, that needs to be reminded at times where we come from. Recently, a friend of mine was insulted on this forum, being told he failed at the game for only have a few REMA's, the number of REMA's are not the goal of the game or what makes a player great. It's the attitude one brings to the table, the inspiration they put into others and above all the knowledge they have of the jobs they play. I know several players that have all that with 0 REMA, and i'd play with them any day over those that have 10+ REMA. So if REMA makes you the great player that you are and gives you the right to **** on people then you need to remember where you come from, because you weren't always there, and maybe you need to go back there for a reminder. <3 always Muri :P I'm an elitist, so I pretty much disagree with everything you said and don't condone this thread at all, but your friend just needs to grow some thicker skin and learn to roll his or her eyes at an obvious loser. If someone's trying to attack someone else for the number of shinnies they have, the only real response is pity, not rantings. |
