It seems like I deleted the Mhaura one.
Modded or vanilla zones? also is it for FPS problems or cosmetic?
I can make one and send it to you to test.

mhaura rom-1-44.dat Quote: I have a question related to this. Why does this smoke cause so much problems? seems to be a driver problem, as in some modern drivers don't properly support the effects Offline

Just feedback I added this into xipivot as NoLag\Rom\1\44.day restarter xipivot Temoved nolag as overlay dir and re-added it Im still seeing smokes in both aoudolin cities The other nolags .dat works perfect (E.g. Your reduced warp crystals) P.S. You don happen to know if there is a way to use simple disc shadows for everyone (including your self) the projected shadows just hurts FPS to much for its small benefits Offline

Thanks :D Did it actually fix the problem or not noticeable? Western Adoulin, Nashmau and Batallia Downs (S) are my biggest culprits for slow down, but I'm not in the other 2 regularly, the Adoulin one is a bother though. Or even let me know your method for removing the smoke and I'll do it myself. Would be nice to look into fixing the other zones I'm having problems with too, but don't know where to start as far as doing it myself. Offline

Have you tested the one in Mhaura and seen a difference? If you get lag in Battalia S, it's not during sandstorms right? Test the file below for Battalia S. You'll know if you have the correct file being displayed cause the wood in the fires at the entrance to Eldime will be painted bright red. Check for lag around those fires and near the jugner zone where the smoke is. It might do nothing or even make the lag worse but just wanna test something, since I don't get lag to test it myself. Battalia S Rom5/0/4.dat battalia S Also is the same during clear weather. Gonna test your file now and get back to you on it. Didn't help with the slowdown in Batallia unfortunately.
Not quite sure what's causing it in this zone. The smoke near Jugner is actually one of the few spots in the zone that is at capped fps. That being said, if I'm not multi boxing it's fine, but that's the same for Western Adoulin too. My PC can brute force the issue when I'm only playing 1 character. Offline

Same problem in Sauromugue Champaign S?
I'll upload the one I made a while ago I just found. Thanks.
The issue is only when I pan my camera towards the smoke in Western Adoulin. Gonna head to bed, but I'll re check Sauromugue Champaign S tomorrow, but don't think it's anywhere near as bad as Batallia if there is an issue. Offline

ROM9/0/3.DAT There are a few ways to remove the smoke, this one was done in the easiest way. Let me know if it doesn't fix the problem. Offline

Did it make any difference to FPS? I used a quick way to remove the smoke in the adoulin one, different from the other.
Also I seem to remember clipping plane in config can have a big impact on fps, so on alts it might be good to set it to 1. Yeah, realised after testing your no smoke western adoulin it was my clipping plane while running alts.
Explains batallia S too, most the fps drops happened when I could see all the mountains in the background. Explains batallia S too, most the fps drops happened when I could see all the mountains in the background. I’ll have to test this again later. I swear I tried doing this before but I couldn’t tell a difference. Thanks for noting this. Does it really need to be all the way down to the lowest setting on the alts? So i'm under the assumption it's due to render distance, but I could still be wrong. Offline

Quote: Sorry, the file you have requested does not exist. I just changed some file types, Kruel tested it and said no difference so I deleted it. Odin.Stayfresh said: » I could see the middle smoke plume all the way back at HP1 near the AH. Going between 40-57fps. I turned the clipping plane all the way down. Those are water effects, removed those. Download the file and try it again. |
