Omen Findings
We had two Job Cards each in our run and 3 new accessory drops I don't know what people are complaining about.

Should be the same, otherwise our BRD would be getting nothing. I guess the PLD (who ran separately from the BST and me the day before) must not have gotten as far/cleared as many objectives. So I guess everyone can look forward to "participation prize" cards? I wonder what the points/card ratio is. The points could be scored for specific job actions, like in Campaign. In party last night, everyone got a card except the geo, who hasn't gotten any cards so far, even though this was his second run. I don't know how geos are scored for participation (it would be a pain if he was supposed to recast indi buffs over and over. It would obviously be more useful if cures or nukes counted for him). Sylph.Shadowlina said: » Ok just came out of a fight with Kei. I feel like he requires an almost constant damage source to stop the shield. His regen with his shield is ridiculously strong, and 1 SCH honestly wasn't cutting it. We got it under 75% once... Did someone say they where doing Kei with Rangers > BLMs. Little more detail would be helpful. As far as the shield is concerned, it's easily brought down by skillchains. Generally the tactic is to find out what elemental it's weak to (it'll be water or ice), have a SCH set up the skillchain, then nuke that element. The shield is down for only seconds, but if it happened to switch elements at the last second it won't absorb magic for that short window. It's all a timing game. Notice that it can absorb skillchain damage too, so take it easy on those. If there's a non-mage method that actually works, I haven't heard of it yet. Should be fun to see. I've been getting cards fairly consistently on GEO. I'm not doing anything special and mostly just acting in a support role unless I can actually contribute directly to the objective, so there may just be a luck component. It seems the boss's always drop something and the majority are useful so the loot considerations aren't nearly as bad as I thought they would be. Cards and Boss wins seem really different so gotta optimize for each, really sucks that card farming objectives scale linearly with party size so that 6 man groups aren't very good at it. Plus note is that the third fodder floor has so many monsters it's easy to do.

Just tried my second solo run. I completed 2 objectives the first time I entered, didn't receive anything. This time, after my first completed objective, I received a card.

So stoked for you guys who like to do one thing a day with your trusts in the most inconvenient way possible. Please savor your +3 enough for the rest of us in 2018. Offline

You can solo the cards pretty easy, I did it on BLM a few minutes ago. Getting to floor 3 isn't terrible, and I'm starting to buy more into the accumulated goal = card theory. Each floor you complete adds one goal, so if you make it to floor 3 that means you have 2 each run at a minimum.
The number might be 5. Yesterday I went on BST and got a card just as I opened up the portal to floor 2 (I had previously gone with another group, not sure on goals completed). Then beat floor 2 with no other objectives completed. Today I went on BLM and managed 2 objectives on the first floor plus the clear. Then beat floor 2 with no other objectives completed, but I got the card as soon as portal was unlocked. That would be 5 goals completed. geigei said: » Also lolsam. Is SAM's reputation really this bad right now? I knew it wasn't in the meta after coming back, but when given the choice between NIN BLU DRG(wtf?) and SAM, the lol job is SAM? This injustice to SAM can't stand, so I'll let the cat of the bag and risk SAM becoming meta again: AM3 Masa is the best DPS job in the game right now; not even WAR or DRK can compete in WoC/Kouryu zergs. It honestly has been since the AM3 changes to Empy, where even Almace took quite a long time to finally catch on. AM3 Masa's theoretical maximum DPS is around 6500, whereas AM3 Almace/Sequence BLU is 4900. I have both Almace and Masa, the difference is utterly obvious when comparing the 2 side by side in both DPS sheets and in game play. On day 2 (party), I got 3 objectives done (1 optional, 2 floor), and didn't get a card. On day 3 (solo), I got 6 objectives done (4 optional, 2 floor), and got a card after the second objective. You gotta remember though with those changes Almace turned into a meh sword unless you are a paladin and even then...it's still not that great. I was working on mine for rdm but after looking into it more I learned unless you were on pld it was near useless to you thanks to others such as sams and even just Mythics/Relics/Aeonics for some of the sword jobs being better like in my main's case you are better off making the mythic or relic and skipping Almace all together for optimal dps output. the *** are you talking about
Wut? Almace is a BLU's best sword, mainhand or as an offhand to Tizona. It's a superb weapon.
Just did our first run as a static. We cleared all the floors and got a bonus floor after Gin. We had the option to open 1 chest. We got 309 gil...
We did complete 1~2 objectives on each floor, but never the 3rd. I also tried Terroanima on the 3rd floor boss, we got Craver. I didn't get any text showing that it worked or didn't but it seemed liked the Craver stopped doing the View Sync for a time but still did other moves. I just did it for fun, so no idea if it actually worked or not. Leviathan.Comeatmebro

BLU was never about the dps, it's about the vast amount of other benefits available to it(while still having pretty decent DPS)
Goddamnit, take the DPS talk somewhere else
Sylph.Jeanpaul said: » Goddamnit, take the DPS talk somewhere else Keep it on the down low please. What is everyone's set ups for each Boss? Or theoretical ideal party set up?
Farming cards and worrying about bosses later seems to be the best approach for now. While, it looks like you can kill Gin and Fu in a well balanced party for each run for the drops(just based off reading the front page.) Not sure about anyone else's experience but I've found most magic is fairlysimple to land. As I've been going on DRK haven't had many resists. On a secondary note, the Glassy Thinker didn't seem to resist gravity. Still lost to do to slow reaction time but kiting it might not be a bad idea.

Could you go into specifics on how you defeated the Glassy Craver? Did you use brd, geo, or cor support? Did you use melee or magic to take it down? How did you get around the move not doing 2.4k damage to you when you get pulled in and rooted? Thanks in advance. I'm trying to think of how loot is distributed across the NMs. There are 3 sub bosses, 5 bosses, 5 body pieces, 16 accessories and 3 shields. My guess is the following.

Don't think it was over 1k at any point in time. The spam was really hard to keep up with and we very nearly wiped/timed out on it (this was with our melee smn pug who kept running in weak and dying over and over...) but not sure what you had equipped to be getting one shot by that move. It was just a slow process. Sylph.Braden

We did the Craver (and Kin) with RUN NIN MNK RDM BRD GEO. Vex+Addle takes care of Murk, Brume, and View Sync's Bind. Distract III overwrites and prevents Material Fend from working entirely. Carousel always comes after View Sync, so swap to DT sets or use Scherzo/Utsusemi/SS. Mages and such can just run away if Bind doesn't land since the range on Carousel is much shorter than View Sync. Wilt and such would definitely help too since both WS are physical.
Can't recall, but I think View Sync was 20' from the target rather than 25' or so from the user. I definitely recall not getting hit with it occasionally. Figure the Thinker drops Knobkierrie and Craver drops Anu Torque. I'm guessing the gear drops off the bosses are always usable by at least one job that uses their scales for upgrades, but whatever, we'll see what happens. Think most people would agree that each boss has a body drop and that they'll be rare as ***though. |
