Also fun fact:

You can charm Transcended mobs. Found this out last night with ability objective and CB timer @1min.

can you keep them when you go up?

Didn't try. Promptly released since floor objective was "kill all Transcended monsters".

Hope the new mats dropping will be in ADDITION to the old drops and not IN PLACE, because otherwise farming those accessories just got more annoying folks.

Calm down big fella

You find an Anu torque on the Glassy Craver.
You find a hope crystal on the Glassy Craver.

You find a Kyou's scale on Kyou.
You find an Enmerkar earring on Kyou.
You find a bolt of moonbow cloth on Kyou.

Any change in Thinker mechanics that anyone can comment on besides 2-3 WS being removed that are not Pain Sync?

Hmmm seems like new drops are pretty obvious: Glassy NM's drop each sort of crystal (Craver = Hope), Caturae drop the moonbow items (Fu = Stone)

So can anyone say how Thinker has changed? Was it just MNK WS?

Does this seem to make him harder?

How'd it work? My WHM needs a card at some point and not sure we have the jobs to switch over to mage.

Setup was SAM THF BRD GEO WHM RDM

RDM was on T1 spam duty to keep the regen down. I just did 4-steps on SAM using Kogarasumaru to ease the timing on the SCs since Slow Spikes suck. Sometimes I'd open for the THF to close Darkness with 3000 TP Rudra. SV/CC Honor March/Madx2/Scherzo/Min at start (those songs don't mean much when they keep getting dispelled by Interferece under 25%; best to get the most out of them at the start). GEO opens with Blaze Frailty/Indi-Vex/Entrust Fury. At the 10 min mark when songs wear off, GEO does Entrust Precision.

Getting it to 25% actually wasn't too terrible as long as its Regen is constantly being kept in check. It was after that when it started spamming Interference and flooring my acc by dispelling songs where it became a huge headache. We don't bring a tank so I have to sit in a hybrid set to keep myself from dying, but that also means I have a lot less accuracy than I could have.

Obviously there's room for improvement in the setup, such as replacing the RDM with another GEO, but personally I'd prefer going on the jobs people need cards on and trying to make it work. Maybe worth noting that both myself and Ihina were triple boxing, making it quite a headache reapplying buffs and stuff at the end with the dispel spam, so I believe a group of 5 or 6 real people will have a much easier time than we did.

We're 6 Gorger, 7 Craver, 3 Thinker. We've always been PLD GEOx2 BLMx2 SCH. PLD enters and ports us up on every floor. We full clear floors. Most all of our runs were 10AM-12PM ET (miss you xmas break). We went twice after the new year at 8:30PM ET and got Thinker twice in a row. Yesterday we went closer to 7:30PM ET and got Craver.

While talking about drops - what does it take for FFXIDB to record drops? I just noticed none of the Omen items/mobs are listed.

FFXIdb hasn't been up to date for years and now it seems to have gone kaput.

My group is struggling to manaburn the craver and thinker. What elements are they weak to and what are the most effective way to manaburn them? We were getting a lot of resist on MB. Is death an efficient spell to use? Any help is appreciated.

Melee Kei definitely gets easier with practice and if you're lucky enough to not get Slow Spikes too often. Also has anyone actually seen Earth/Water/Ice/Shock Spikes on Kei? Of our 4 or 5 fights, we've only ever seen Blaze and Wind Spikes.

Would need to know setup: Buffs gear and jobs to give any help as well as tier of gear and augments, if you use .lua or scrips etc

Pretty sure he only has a wind and fire mode. It changes when he finishes casting spells of that element.

Pld, whm, blm, blm, geo (idris) and sch.

Reasonably well geared (Escha and Reisen). Mostly normal augments, no exceptional gear except for the idris. Gearswap is used.

Glassy Craver
When we do Kei and bring a mage setup, we dont bring a WHM, (PLD SCH SCH BLM BLM GEO)everyone can cure. and throw a 11 minute regen5 on, tank should be fine and self-sufficient.

Craver PLD pulls to rock, (malaise/focus) we open with 2x death takes it to about 82%, keep in mind everyone is staying 25+ back unless they are acting on the NM. SCH ebullience pyrohelix2 10k+, this alone will tic it down to 50%.

After the helix everyone pulls back 25+ rebuffs and then we have SCH run in to start fusion, while others stay 25+ and just run in to burst the fusion, then run back out. Rinse repeat, will need to reapply helix2, and then once its down low, do another death @20%~

Glassy Thinker
Everyone but tank is 20-21 distance away cycling Fusion the entire time (NO HELIX). GEO Malaise/Focus and in charge of non-stop enfeeblings impact/frazzle/para/slow/blind/bio/poison, blm burn/choke/shock. Since everyone is 20-21 when you see Pain Sync even if you land a 25k nuke, you can run out of range in time. So the ONLY death should be the tank, with 5 mages, you can EASILY slap gravity/bind on it, get tank up and tank it weak.

Our primary RUN Tank, Rua, is able to run away from Pain Sync like 99% of the time. It's got a really long wind up and he locks his Crimson legs so he can immediately run off when it starts it. This is obviously for our mage setups as our melee ones just have us turn around most of the time and only melee / WS when it's doing a TP move that's not Pain Sync.

Thats good to know about 20.6 ft on thinker, will stop a lot of pointless deaths maybe for us haha!

My group is struggling to consistently kill him. We clear literally everything else easy, thinker is the only "hard" mob for us in all of Omen. We go as tank, drk, geo, whm, rdm (melee), brd nearly every run, which leaves me (drk) and rdm (mythic/aeonic) as the DDs. We do well normally on turning but even with turning we seem to get one 2k+ pain sync off per run (one double attack crit round) which just slow it down to much. I use sword (2h = insta wipe when your swinging for 2k+), and obviously rdm too. We are debating just one dd, but then kill speed might be to slow.

Is there a way to lock it into just winds? We spam debuffs but he still will do 3-4 pain sync back to back with hardly any wait time between, so its just so unpredictable.

No there isn't, there is no "lock" mechanic on this NM. Instead, just like regular Thinkers, if it has an erasable debuff on it then WoP is loaded into it's TP move list. If it has 3 or more debuffs then it sets WoP as a higher priority TP move. But there is absolutely nothing preventing the AI script from randomly selecting Pain Sync multiple times. Also the Thinker gets regain as it's HP gets lower, above 50% HP it has virtually no regain and you need to melee it to force it to use a TP move so you can WS. Under 50% it gets a moderate regain effect and you need to be more careful. Under 30% it gets a massive regain and will spam TP moves back to back non-stop, this is when you need to be super careful. What I do is fight unlocked but engaged with my back turned, when I see it readying a TP move I check the name and if it's not Pain Sync I turn around and WS Savage Blade unless I don't have TP then I hit it a few attack rounds. About 2 seconds after it's WS animation is finished I immediately turn around regardless of if it's started another WS or not. He has a certain tempo and pace you learn to follow and anticipate when it's going to TP.

Speaking of Thinker, does anyone have a battlemod filter file that filters everything your fellow DDs and tank do? I've tried to make my own filters, but I can't get it to actually filter them.
