The thing about this is you can't really plan your strategy around any of the specific mid bosses alone since it's completely random. You can take NIN but you might not even get the Thinker. I've done every mid-boss as ninja and have done Kyou with 4 people. I think it is viable for most of the other bosses as well. That said, I don't think it's necessarily the best job selection for every boss or even the midboss. BRD + SMN seem much simpler for Glassy Thinker. It's not necessarily foolproof though, you only need to do 35k damage while it's readying Pain Sync to be in risky territory even with Earthen Armor + Scherzo.

We beat Kyou yesterday as GEO (Idris), RUN, DRK (RMEA AG), WHM, RNG, COR. We tried to avoid his special move at 25% with the RUN 1hr's, but they wore before we could get it to 25%. The RUN had no problem tanking otherwise. If I had my dream setup, I would go with: GEO, GEO, DD, DD, COR, WHM and gather in front of the mob with a bubble every 25% to avoid deaths.

For bubbles in the run I had to do Torpor/Vex so the COR and RNG could consistantly hit him. This considerably hurt our damage output after 75%. You can see in the video for the first 25% I used BoG Frailty/Indi-Torpor and the DRK was pulling 20k WS, but the WHM was having trouble keeping curse off the melees and topped off. So I had to switch to Vex/Frailty. Then around 70% the melee couldn't hit, so I dropped Frailty for Torpor. This put WS damage down to 3~6k. With two GEOs you could do Frailty/Fury/Torpor/Vex and allow two DDs to wreck it. A DD RUN or NIN might work good in place of one of the DDs if your DDs are concerned about tanking. Or replace the COR with a tank.

Yep exactly. Even something like that would help.

Technically there can be a floor after the boss.

Yep. Living testament to this. Lost Utu's Grip on day 1 clearing him with 10 seconds left and a dead body. A minute or two extension would be enough. I can understand 5 on the chance everyone dead wants a chance at an item and for some reason you have no raises.

I don't think that has anything to do with time after clearing a boss, rather the objectives will receive more time to complete. So lost items are still a potential issue.

lower the recast on getting new KI from 20 hrs ~> 12 be sweet :D

or even better, 8 hrs so makes possible to do 2-3 runs / day ^^

The last time I had to wake up at 4:00AM for FFXI was during the HNMLS days when we were fiercely camping Tiamat (and other HNM's).

A good idea for the KI issues, even if they do not lower or remove the timegate, would be an Assault tags system. Allow us to automatically stock up on canteens, up to four or five or what have you. That way we could set aside specific days for runs rather than needing to set things up every day or twice every two days out of fear of wasting a KI.

Yeah but...then people stockpile and spam the event and we're back to congestion which is what SE is trying to avoid with this KI system.

That being said, I'd like that system as well. Rather congestion than...this.

What is the max range for copy buff move for this NM?

I learned the hard way (and it's posted on wiki) do not let the geo use dematerialize.

He absorbs everything. Signet/sigil/sanction, food, JAs and ***he doesn't really need. ~any~ buffs on the tank and even the luopan will transfer over.

Thankfully tanking him is fairly easy. Range is probably closer to 10', mages can easily be out of range but still hit tank

That being said, I'd like that system as well. Rather congestion than...this.

I have a term I coined simply called "artificial longevity". This just means Omen - at least in its current form - is meant to last anywhere between 6 months to a year or more (in terms of all the beastly gear/accessories being offered and your ability to farm them all).

No, I don't care for "Sorry guys, 10 pages and we're in" but I also wouldn't want to be able to get all this great gear super fast. Actually, I would but that's besides the point. The bottom line is SE is attempting to ensure that we don't get all this overpowered gear too fast too soon.

It's the damage you do to it while it's readying the move. SV doesn't affect Scherzo potency, only duration. You can get 50% on Scherzo (capped skill and +5 from gear) and 45% on Earthen Armor, so 95% total.

I do believe they aren't referring to lengthening the time of the event itself just lengthening the time to complete the bonus objectives. You know when you go to a new floor and you have 90s to do 18 weapon skills (3 per party member) or some other ridiculous task that can't be done in 90s. Biggest reason to farm cards solo or with no more then 3 is to have reasonable objectives to complete.

More an annoyance than anything, but one thing about Kin's special move(s).

He'll do target and then some set amount of time afterwards he'll do 11th dimension which is the 3 minute terror/hate reset. But it seems like if someone else gets hate in between target and 11th dimension, his eyes will stop glowing and he won't do terror anymore.

Started noticing this after we'd do bolster after the first terror wore off and the 2nd terror never came.

I agree. While I would feel bad if I had done the same, I wouldn't have laughed at the guy right after I did it. But yes, I acted out of impulse, and am immensely sorry for breaking the forum rules. And for treating Jkun like garbage. He didn't deserve that.

Has anyone tried doing a full PUP run? I feel like a good group of 6 1200 JP PUPs would wreck house.
