What it says in the subject really. According to the wiki CC provides a 22% magic burst bonus (which should be +33 w/Galero +1) and I wonder if anyone tested the specifics of it. For example, does it go over the normal MB cap? Does it stack with other MB bonus sources and if yes, then would it be worthwhile to burst with the Galero, as opposed to Merlinic, Amalric or w/e other head used normally for it?

Would appreciate any information.

Pretty sure it doesnt go over cap. Use a decently auged merlinc

It does count as gear burst damage, unfortunately (so not cap-breaking).

If used properly though, you can get away with replacing some of your MBD+ equipment with pieces that have more INT/macc/MAB. Just looking at the base stats though, Merlinic Hood has the Galero+1 beat, and it's not that hard to hit +10%/+11% with your augs, so probably not the best option for burst gear. Could work as fill-in until you get the hood at least. ^^ (As long as you always stand in the right spot.)

People in the GEO thread claimed that it USED to be like you said long ago but that it was patched and now it goes beyond the 40% gear cap.

There's some very simple test in that thread, I dunno how reliable it is.


Regardless I personally find it a very annoying thing to be caring of. Everyone have their own playstyle but I gave up trying to convince my LS mates (or PUG peoople) to position themselves in a different spot so I can benefit from whatever Cardinal Chant bonus I want to use.

Where are you seeing this value?

AF+3 Galero gives cardinal chant bonus +4. If you are going for Magic Burst Bonus, you'd want to face west. Assuming a single-nuke spell, that base CC bonus is +22. So with helm, it would be +26 Bonus when facing west. Where are you getting +44%?

This came up a couple months ago. I can't remember the conclusion.

It would be a LARGE increase in damage, but I think that it counted as MBI IE capped, in the end.

Really simple thing to test, the difference in damage would be quite noticeable.

While I don't fully know if it was tested "properly" this was the result from the last conversation;

Seems so, but i think the moral is, Ea hat+1 beats Af+3 head even when leveraging cardinal chant when MBing

being that galero+3 has no actual nuking stats, it's inferior to (Ea?)Ea+1

Until some really good nuking pieces come out for other slots with no MB1 stat, that is. When that happens, Galero might find it's way into sets.
