Hello sausage my old friend
I've come to grind with you again Because a hot dog softly creeping Gave me its seed while I was sleeping And the meat that was implanted in my brat Still proves that Within the sounds of sausage %%% In restless dinner sat alone A liverwurst upon its throne Neath potato's gravy I pushed my fork against the natural casing When the skin Was punctured by the steely tines Split the mind Touched by the sounds Of sausage T S Eliot
Once said it all but not with So few syllables. Quote: The Hollow Men Mistah Kurtz-he dead A penny for the Old Guy I We are the hollow men We are the stuffed men Leaning together Headpiece filled with straw. Alas! Our dried voices, when We whisper together Are quiet and meaningless As wind in dry grass Or rats' feet over broken glass In our dry cellar Shape without form, shade without colour, Paralysed force, gesture without motion; Those who have crossed With direct eyes, to death's other Kingdom Remember us-if at all-not as lost Violent souls, but only As the hollow men The stuffed men. II Eyes I dare not meet in dreams In death's dream kingdom These do not appear: There, the eyes are Sunlight on a broken column There, is a tree swinging And voices are In the wind's singing More distant and more solemn Than a fading star. Let me be no nearer In death's dream kingdom Let me also wear Such deliberate disguises Rat's coat, crowskin, crossed staves In a field Behaving as the wind behaves No nearer- Not that final meeting In the twilight kingdom III This is the dead land This is cactus land Here the stone images Are raised, here they receive The supplication of a dead man's hand Under the twinkle of a fading star. Is it like this In death's other kingdom Waking alone At the hour when we are Trembling with tenderness Lips that would kiss Form prayers to broken stone. IV The eyes are not here There are no eyes here In this valley of dying stars In this hollow valley This broken jaw of our lost kingdoms In this last of meeting places We grope together And avoid speech Gathered on this beach of the tumid river Sightless, unless The eyes reappear As the perpetual star Multifoliate rose Of death's twilight kingdom The hope only Of empty men. V Here we go round the prickly pear Prickly pear prickly pear Here we go round the prickly pear At five o'clock in the morning. Between the idea And the reality Between the motion And the act Falls the Shadow For Thine is the Kingdom Between the conception And the creation Between the emotion And the response Falls the Shadow Life is very long Between the desire And the spasm Between the potency And the existence Between the essence And the descent Falls the Shadow For Thine is the Kingdom For Thine is Life is For Thine is the This is the way the world ends This is the way the world ends This is the way the world ends Not with a bang but a whimper. I was always more of a Nathanael West fan than a T.S Elliot but I found The Hollow Men to be good, yet felt that The Waste Land to be better. On a different note Chachi in Charge is going to speak at the RNC! Scott Baio..how many other former stars of the 80s turned reality stars in 00's is Trump going to pull out his hat? Not sure if Trump is a master satirist, or target demographic is really that low. Lakshmi.Zerowone said: » Not sure if Trump is a master satirist, or target demographic is really that low. I find the former can really feed off of the latter, so possibly both. Lakshmi.Zerowone said: » Not sure if Trump is a master satirist, or target demographic is really that low. Pure simple satire himself Target is lowest P. S.
Yes Zero, "The Wasteland" is a better poem but "The Hollow Men" is SO appropriate to today. My favorite of his is still "She Being Brand New." Mods please rename thread Random politics religion and Poetry slam dunk Collect Telegram from a Mad Dog

Quote: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told CNN he would approve reinstating the death penalty if lawmakers backed the measure in Parliament. He called the attempted coup on Friday a "clear crime of treason." In his first one-on-one interview since the attempted coup by a faction of the military, Erdogan on Monday said citizens are demanding the death penalty for coup plotters. "The people now have the idea, after so many terrorist incidents, that these terrorists should be killed," Erdogan told CNN's Becky Anderson through his translator. "Why should I keep them and feed them in prisons for years to come?" The President didn't specify whether he'd seek the death penalty for Muslim cleric Fethullah Gulen, who the president says was behind the attempt to overthrow him. He said he'll submit a formal request to the United States within days for Gulen's extradition. If Turkey reintroduces the death penalty, it won't be joining the European Union, according to EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini. "Let me be very clear on one thing ... No country can become an EU member state if it introduces [the] death penalty," Mogherini said. O blames military

They've all been supportive of getting rid of him... Looks like the RNC has gotten off to a divisive, chaotic start. Shocker.

Poor Sarah Palin
Wasn't invited to come. Blame the Track record. It wasn't that she wasn't invited. Alaska is just too far away. Trump loves Sarah, but it's a little bit difficult because of, you know, it's a long ways away.
