The wiki says archery skill cap is 417, but I'm still skilling up way past that. What's going on here?
Currently at 429 (in chat log), it's not blue'd out in auto inventory.
I do have the +10 from merits too, but I'm still past 427.

The wiki says archery skill cap is 417, but I'm still skilling up way past that. What's going on here?

I do have the +10 from merits too, but I'm still past 427. i read somewhere 2 years ago when i was leveling my skill that there was a glitch. it wont blue. however to what cap is i guess it would depend on which frame etc you would be using.
There is a bug with automaton skill-ups where it will keep going to the total maximum skill level including bonuses. This doesn't do anything useful unless there is a change to the game that later increases the maximum base skill level.
And automaton skill numbers don't go blue. Are you using any armor such as Empyrean legs that give additional skill?

The automaton is still working with the full bonus given, despite appearing to need to skill up to it. Verified with having 249 skill and one merit. NOT Burning the job, just got LS members lvling up PUP the old faction way and they asked me about it. so I am not sure, since I am 99 and fully cap already >< Honestly lair reives are the best. 0 evasion and pet wont get agro/hit so you can just stay out of range. Can go at any level, just remember you risk dieing more as a lvl 50 on them than a 99.

what I told them to do is go to Qufim and Start on leeches (0~100) Then Crabs at Kuftal / Boyahda 100~150 after that upper level Boyahda 150~300+ then Abyssea around 260~300 too after that just Seekers all the way to cap ^^; Thanks for the idea of the reives, and for answering my question. abyssea has its place as well, due to DA/ta/Haste atma, as well as refresh atma for mages.
For melee you can get DA/TA atma, as well as blue chests to reset 2 hr. Pup 2 hr - thunder/fire/wind and your pet has rediculous double attack/haste/atk store tp etc. RDM can spam chain spell with heady artifice (also makes azure light) SO long as you can keep farming blue chests to reset 2 hour. |
