Oh boy, and we're back to anti-vax nonsense. I just want to hear how smallpox magically disappeared off the face of the planet, since vaccines clearly are evil. Everyone knows polio was practically eradicated in most countries by sheer willpower, so I won't bring that disease up too.

Though... literally everyone here should pay attention to the points Hank is making about confirmation bias and the like. Literally. Everyone.
And, concurrently, what do we do about the problem of trying to convince someone their thoughts are wrong basically being counter-productive? Does that error (because it is an error) go away when one is aware of it? Since figuring the problem out a long time ago, I try to suspend my natural resistance to contrary data, but I am unsure how successful I am. This is confounded by the fact that what I believe may not necessarily be wrong, e.g., no argumentation is going to convince me that routine and virtually mandatory vaccination is immoral, dangerous, unhealthy, or otherwise wrong.
