been working on a spellcast for geo, wondering if anyone notices anything that i need to add... sets are not "optimal" just considering the content in the coding more than anything.

So! With new bell giving 828 total skill, Precision now gives 46 Acc!

Didn't see other increases for buffs that can be checked through /checkparam.

Still 5mp/tick Refresh, bleghk. x.x

Sets updated with new stuff from April update. Not many changes since there was not a lot of gear added, but we did get some nice items for an accuracy set!

Just linking this here for those who may ask in the future or don't keep up with the BG thread. Good to see proof that it actually works. It didn't at SoA launch, and it created confusion for some whether pet get worked for Luopans or not.

Although I am happy to hear that more gear is now usable for GEO for Luopans, I am quite disappointed in my current predicament regarding the ToM staff.

I havent completed this trial, but it requires a pet job to deal the finishing blow. Unfortunately, the only job I have is GEO (which is not much of an offensive pet job), which means I will actually have to level a pet job to 99 before I can finish this trial completely. Either that, or aoe spam trains of mobs to 1% and then concentric pulse (and wait on cool down timer to redo) to kill monsters, if that is considered a pet kill.


And when I finally finish this, SE will release a -DT Luopan club. FML.
Hopefully this will save some people some time in the process of making this staff(Source):
â—¾Having a pet deal a given number of killing blows on a specific type of experience-yielding monster.
â—¾An Adventuring Fellow's killing blow will count towards this trial.
â—¾Skillchains closed by pets will not count toward this trial.
â—¾Killing blows by other players' pets count towards this trial as of the September 2010 update.(As long as you have a pet too)
â—¾Kills from a pet's counterattack, DoT or skill chain (not Weapon Skill) do NOT count.
â—¾Enemies killed by automaton nukes will grant experience AND kill credit

I'm waiting for weather to try this, I'm thinking trusts may count as well.

If anyone has found a way to speed up the Antlion part of this trial I would like to hear it as I am still trying to finish it.

Any -perp gear that I can think of specifies Avatar Perp Cost. I suppose it'd be easy enough to stack up some from plasm/skirmish gear and go try it, or even Smn/Geo and load up on it. Although not many uses come to mind, as the DoT is hardly the issue with Loupans or Geos.

First time reading this guide. I'm.. impressed. I think this is the most graphically appealing Guide I've seen on FFXIAH. Good info too.

Now to repost Indi-Haste testing.

They do not. None of the Indi spells stack with their GEO counterparts of the same boon/debuff. Nothing has changed.

Been messing around with an Idris melee setup. Anyone have any opinions on a maxxed out Flash Nova set? On higher level content, Hexa/Realm/Exudation just don't really do much at all, acc being an issue and all. Flash Nova in my MAB setup was getting a consistent 5k+ at 1k TP though, so looking at maxing that out a bit more. The 5k+ was in a CP party in Dho Gates on pugils/crabs. Using it in D DM is getting 2kish at 1k TP.

And since I forgot to post it over here (whoops ; ;), here's the link to the testing I've completed so far with Idris. More to come.

I think this is a good jumping off point that would obviously be further optimized with max augments on Hagondes. Assuming unaugmented pieces (sub in any Hagondes you have that beat what I've put here) you're looking at +157 MAB, +76 STR and +124 MND. I'm not entirely sure if the elemental gorget/belt are best for this or if using Eddy/Maniacus would be better. Same with the MAB rings vs. a pair of +9 STR or MND rings. I don't think there's a GEO spreadsheet yet to get precise calculations and trying to rig the WHM or BLU ones doesn't really work.

That's pretty much my entire hanging point atm, as well as how important capping the dInt stat for it is, which caps at +48 Int over mob Int according to BGWiki.

My current nuking set (read, not at all optimized for Flash Nova) when /Dnc is:

Cagli and Idris switched, idk how to get them to show correctly on the sets, seems to always default to Idris in the offhand. XD

Hat: +20 MAB
Body: +23 MAB
Gloves: +8 Int
Legs: +21 MAB

Besides the rings, belt/gorget, and other options shown in your's, I'm also looking at subs such as Bagua +1 or Vanir for body and Hagondes Hands +1 +20 MAB. The damage I was getting was quite consistent within 100-150ish damage on the Dho Gates mobs. Guess I'll just make a change at a time towards optimizing it and see what direction -Int, MAB VS Str/Mnd take me.

On a side note, can elemental WSs still resist? I've yet to witness a massive decrease in damage that could be attributed to a resist, just much lower damage presumably from massive -MDT/MDB, specifically, D DM AAs. Even on them I didn't notice anything that seemed like a resist.

I'm not extremely well-versed on elemental weaponskills, but I know on my COR, when I use Leaden Salute on a Funguar, it does significantly less damage than Wildfire, and they're both about equal on other mobs, say lightning-based. I believe they only changed skillchains, not weaponskills.

for group events i usually only see geo nuke in skirmish or ouryuu. prob fine w/o adding merits into it.

Geo should be nuking in pretty much anything besides VD battlefields, MEva/MDB is just too high to get anything remotely decent numbers wise. D is doable with a good range of gear or the freedom to use Indi-Focus, but it's worth is drastically reduced too.

As far as merits, I don't know if anyones tested a max skill gear sans merits setup to see if you still hit the different tiers. If merits are tight and you miss a tier or two, you're not really losing out on THAT much by not meriting them, 1-2 acc, 1-2 stats, maybe 0.15% -defense, etc.
