It looks like fate went ahead and solved my problems for me, as far as servers go. so it looks like I won't be able to play your lame *** game of "taking sides" as it were, flav.
I looked at Excalibur, my wife said I shouldn't join a server with that gay of a name, & then reccommended I go to Faerie ....(youkeeponusingthatword.meme) excal, however is not accepting new characters.
I looked at Ultros cursed flav for a bit, only to find out that Ult. is not accepting new chara. either.
I looked at Odin, saw that it was a EU server, laughed at Mag, & moved on.
So it was a quarter flip over Exodus or Goblin, to go & play all by my little self on an MMO. weak.
so Exodus wins.
I was half drunk, so I accomplished very little, outside of trying to work the controls.

The differences in stats don't seem as crucial this time around, IIRC. Races start in race specific towns, right?

I think thaurmage(sp?) and mnk are in my town for sure, but idk if there's more or what. might have to ask the more seasoned fellers.

Is XIV really that much diff. than XI?
Seems like it would eat a whole paycheck to build a new PC for XIV. Hm.
Z I know you can change classes pretty easy, so it's just your starting class anyway, I wouldn't get to hung up on it, unless your trying to shoot for the same starter town that we're in, in which case, you'll have to ask around, I suppose.
I'd say it's pretty different, but that's me. I've had a hard time getting into it so far.

you can pick up a used ps3 at a pawn shop for $150-175
Your starter city is based on the class you choose... It's a lot quicker (spamming WSs) than XI but still holds on to some elements (gear swaps (I think) and SJs)... You have to get to certain levels to unlock everything anyways... it's really adopted the questing aspect of experiencing though... You have to get to around 15 or so and be through a certain amount of quests before you get the airship pass... I'm not sure about mounts... controls are a bit different but I think fairly easy to adapt to...
I know. I'm just being more anal this time, because of time constraints. If I realistically only have a few hours of quiet, solitary time a week, I want to make sure I'm happy with what I choose right off the bat. I don't think I'll have the time to mess around with different jobs and dilly-dally. I value my quiet time.
