There is something really cathartic about taking communion. I'm not exactly sure why though. I do love going to church for Christmas mass and belting out "Hark! The Herald", but I think it's more of a tradition thing for me.

I guess the only real "spiritual" experiences I've had in churches were in Europe.

Exactly Mos! Spanish I am too busy translating (I never really learned spanish for church and legal matters) and seeing how it is different and similar to english...plus also checking out the sights of poorly dressed young males and the fact they come in just plain on street jeans and the young girls who wear too revealing clothes to church...wait I should post this in Grind Gears thread...meh.

Last time I went to a spanish wedding, was at our church, uncle and like 13 other couples were doing a mass wedding thing. I was like "ok, we have turned into this now...." and all me and my cousin could do to stay entertained was dissect the program brochure and count how many Joses and Marias there were and the meaning of each name.

Note to self, don't have a Spanish wedding for self...

I wanted to be like "yo why da hate for spanish masses" jokingly, but I remembered how much I hate them too and prefer the english ones.
It's not really that I prefer the English masses, it's that Catholic weddings take SO *** LONG ANYWAY! LOL! My BF is Catholic. (He's Catholic like I'm Lutheran though. Christianed and confirmed, but other than that we don't really care.) If we were to get married, and IF it were to be in a church, *** A BUNCH OF CATHOLIC WEDDING! Everyone is just waiting for the reception anyway.

<~~~ Irish catholic family on both sides, *** forget about it. Latin ones are the worst. trying to half *** translate in my head out of sheer boredom only to realize "O ya, it's the same ***I heard in english last week" /pointsguntohead

*edit*

heyo all, was running around the state all morning

Welcome back!

Irish Catholic receptions are quite the throw down at the reception! I was actually in the wedding party for that one. So much standing in stilettos! The bride got to wear flip-flops damn it! Our dresses were just above the knee, so we were SOL.

At the Spanish one, I was perusing through the hymnal. (Shitty thing to do, but at least I wasn't the douchebag on my Blackberry. Why do people think that's acceptable?!? Same thing happened at my God-daughter's christianing too! /rant) Anyway, I found a Hyden hymn, and was like, "Hyden, you sneaky ***! What are you doing in here? You're not Catholic, you silly Lutheran, Kraut composer you!"

That might be true. LOL!

My HS sweetheart was Methodist. When I took communion with him once during Christmas mass, we took our sip of "wine" and I had the "WTF is this?!?" reaction. Of course, this was after we took the wafers where he stuck out his tongue like the damn Lizard King or something. Have you no shame, Methodists?!? LOL!

I did scream out, "*** STAB IT!" at a reception where I was three-four-five-six sheets to the wind. The BF was poaching olives from my martini. I told him plenty of times to go get his own, and he kept snatching up the sword and pushing the olives off into my drink then fishing for them throughout the maid-of-honor speech.

Mos is. He has three daughters and is about to have one baby boy. Poor, poor baby brother. Poor, poor Mos in the future. LOL!

Uri fancies himself a confirmed bachelor.

Little pressure on me. I'm the younger of the two and my sister has already been married or divorced. Seeing as neither of us have procreated yet all the pressure is on her.

True its just, I go to family events and I am the odd person out. My brother and sister both just had their first kids, so my parents are hapy and gleefully over whelmed with their grand daughters they love, they just don't hide that they would like some from me either. And when they tell me that, I usually end up downing the rest of my beer at the events.

Good thing tho, I have lots of time for my AWESOME NIECES!!!!!!! They will all be big enough to tackle me soon ^^ "Uncle Skull!" i keep trying to make them call me, to the annoyance of their mothers and grandmother. ^^y

He would. He was quite the ladies man. But he is doing better than us all. Big shot director of department over on the online side of a newspaper company. Huge house we all retreat to and have our own temporary rooms when we stay. And he got a gorgeous wife. Hes doing well. Tho I am sure he would like some relief from the stress of it all. I shall offer him some babysitting time of his twins now that they can walk around a bit and be more interactive.

My brother vocalized that to me a couple times while inebriated, but that's when things started going South with his wifey. She's a *** BTW, and that's the one and only person on the planet that I have no qualms about giving that label to.

lmao.

yeah. the doctor (last week) told me that if I didn't start being mindful of stress I was going to run into some problems.

It's just amazing what a house of cards it all really is. soooooo delicate. if a wind, strong enough to kill me, came by, it would all crash into the ground within a few weeks. crazy. My problem was that I was starting to try to control it. in reality, it's completely out of my hands. I guess I just had to be humbled a bit. it's just so easy to get caught up... Niko needs to come by. I'm sure he'd be able to illustrate better than I.

I'm great too though, I am just in the unfortunate position of being aware of the exact margin.

Okay...Weird memory, but did you all have instructions on the "appropriate" way to receive communion? Like, did you get the instructions on how far your tongue could stick out while accepting the sacrament? Do they just teach girls that during confirmation?

Head slightly tilted and your tongue can't go further out than your bottom lip? "Lady-like" communion, I guess?

Looking back, I just wonder if they thought, "These gals are going to give these communion wafers a fallatin' of a lifetime! Wait until they get booze in their system!"
