I'm taking a course called "Computer User Support" and sadly the instructor is the same one I had for "Survey of Computer Tech" last semester. Last semester she had us read articles off wired.com and write reviews and showed a youtube video for converting binary and hex, which we never used after that. She also had us use a "3D animation program" called Alice, but didn't teach us to use it, she just said try the forums if you get stuck. She has already told us that computer knowledge won't be required for this course and to think of it more as a customer service course...
I am starting to worry that I will never learn anything while obtaining my degree as I am in my second semester and the most advanced computer based class so far is the one described above. I am going to a state school so I wasn't expecting anything of MIT caliber, but I was expecting to learn SOMETHING. Are all state schools this bad?

Short answer: yes.
I had a teacher throughout my Customer Service classes that was a total hardass, he would get pissed off over ANYTHING.
Case in point, I am allowed certain exceptions for some things because of my disability, one of these is taking tests in a secluded facility (I go there, take it, it gets turned in)
I emailed him FIVE times telling him I was going to take my final there (since he told me I had to) I was assuming he would reply, but he didn't so I just figured he already got it.
Day came, went to facility, did my test (it was there, so I didn't question it)
Final exam grades came: 0
Why?
Teacher said he never got my numerous emails (I emailed his College email to which he is required to use for student/instructor communication)
Questioned him how my test got there, he couldn't answer...
So ... yeah...

Sadly it is a required course for my program, and shes the only instructor for it. Programming isn't really in my field of interest, I am mostly interested in the program because of it's (advertised) emphasis on network administration and hardware troubleshooting skills. I had one other class which we learned about Boolean logic and a little more in depth binary but I still for the life of me can't understand why.
I worked as an IT for 5 years in the Navy and the only thing I never learned (aside from programming like I said) was(were?) routers, which is why I am taking this course program. It's a 2 year degree though and not one instructor I have has even said the word router. It's just kinda frustrating to see taxpayer dollars getting flushed down the drain to teach me things I already know.

Im sure if there is a Networking course they will talk about routers, IPs, NATs, VPNs, etc.

Not sure about Citag, s/he's new. Kiriyu is just an in-out kinda person. Says one thing every three days that every guy makes a big fuss over. Ludoggy gets really defensive since she's asian and underage (might be 18 now).
Artem is the wayward soul that makes you ponder the meaning of life by constantly reminding us life can suck. But he deals, and so do we. About the same for Savannah, except people are more "AWH!" to her because of a vagina involved.
Dasva is the ex military man (as is Krizz but this doesn't apply to him) who hates the world and plots a way to destroy most of it.
Number2 is kinda like a mix between Cai and I; never bashes, likes to laugh and has odd avatars. His current suits a lot of the convos this LS gets into. Barti is most well known for his moustache. He gives mousatche rides for a fee. I'm missing a few people but whatever. CARRY ON!
