Interestingly enough, H2H skill +20 should grant us around +2 base damage, correct?

What does a basic TP set for Godhands look like. Is it basically normal TP, but with mache earring +1 in one of the ears.
I'm also curious why the focus on Howling Fist with godhands... I'm seeing very consistent, and much higher numbers with Raging Fists. Edit: Note, I'm really struggling to build TP with my current set fast enough to SC consistently beyond 2-3 steps. (Without a COR). TP Set for Reference ItemSet 382574 Have not really played around with it, but more STP will help when you don't have SAM rolls.
Can try Malignance head, legs, feet(when footwork down). Edit: Mache Earring +1 over brutal Offline

For DPS sake Howling should only be used when you are significantly attack uncapped. Cerberus.Shadowmeld

How much MA should I be aiming for? I've seen posts that say Godhands only need 13 MA to cap with max magic haste, but I'm fairly confident that that includes JA haste.
I'm guessing you aren't using Impetus or Footwork in your posted set. If not, something like this would get you a little more consistent with your results
ItemSet 382586 As far as MA, the amount you need does not include JA haste which you likely aren't going to be and shouldn't be getting since if you have a DNC in the party and max magic haste, they don't need it either. Cerberus.Shadowmeld

Yeah, No Impetus No Footwork for this set specifically.

Someone have a mnk lua they can slug me?
I just grinded out a vereth R15 and need to know what gear to get (am mnk noob). I'm mostly interested in doing some damage in Omen while multiboxing. Thanks! Offline

For omen, I generally do malignance for tp plus ody gear from kitty and the typical ws sets from the guides. If I were to Change anything would probably go a bit more defensive with more full timing malignance. Getting hit with stats is annoying when multi boxing, esp in mostly vanilla. ML is making some stuff much easier, so miltibozing omen on mnk has much more latitude. If you are a noob, one thing I will recommend is don't neglect looking at kick attacks to help with tp for self Sc. Neck or the relec or emp pants are ok if you don't need the def stats to add to your multi attack to gain. The self Sc is really what helps mnk shine as a dd, as vs vs is just so great for an ease of use Sc.

looking mostly at Kyou/Kei...full time in malignance and WS in above linked sets then?
Have cor/brd/geo/whm support, so basically just mnk solo'ing those two bosses (accounting for 10k HP move on one and dancing fullers on the other). I used to use this set for soloing omen bosses. I like the SU3 to keep subtle blow capped
Code sets.engaged.LiteSB = { ammo="Coiste Bodhar", head="Ken. Jinpachi +1", body="Malignance Tabard", hands="Malignance Gloves", legs="Malignance Tights", feet="Ken. Sune-Ate +1", neck={ name="Mnk. Nodowa +2", augments={'Path: A',}}, waist="Moonbow Belt +1", ear1="Sherida Earring", ear2="Schere Earring", left_ring="Niqmaddu Ring", right_ring="Defending Ring", back={ name="Segomo's Mantle", augments={'DEX+20','Accuracy+20 Attack+20','Accuracy+10','"Dbl.Atk."+10','Phys. dmg. taken-10%',}}, } Asura.Buffyslyph

Only have to be on for activating footwork, or need to stay on for footwork buff? If the first I can put them on before I activate footwork before tornado kick and put the AF+3 back on for the actual WS, right? Asura.Buffyslyph

Hey yo guys how is everyone.
So im just back in game after almost 9 years Im putting some effort into MNK and going back in the discussion I was trying to find out if its worth the work on Vere R15 over GH R15. Is tehre eany way to have a final nswer on this? I know all ***is situational but, lets say Id like to main mnk on this new char i made ( SE chat not working in eu so im not able to recover mine...), what should I make? Also Considering I could use the gil and effort needed on Vere ( way more of both than GH) on something else like WAR, or whatever. Ty guys and sorry for the pasta english. Lakshmi.Buukki

Godhands R15 and you won't even miss Verethragna. Its very good and compares to Empyrean, for a fraction of the cost.

You will need to unlock it yes, depending on what your die/residue prices/supply look like it shouldnt take too much to do so.
Not sure if you've unlocked empy WS before but if not can look over this for the process of doing so; https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Category:Kupofried's_Weapon_Skill_Moogle_Magic Offline

Honestly, raging fists is so much more consistent that victory smite, even with impetus up, with godhands that you don’t necessarily need it unless you’re multistepping

it's something you need to do
Heya been trying to be more proactive and started updating the bgwiki monk community guide. I'm by far not the best player for the jobs I play (hence why I refer to guides a lot) but if anyone has criticisms or sets they want added I'm happy to do the gruntwork. I shamelessly grabbed the sets SimonSes mentioned that I saw and added them but would be happy to try and update the guide more. I tried reading through a lot of the last few pages but yeah, I'm not sure I'm the best to decide what sets go on guides...
So I'm too lazy to make Vereth and thus I'm using Godhands and probably will keep at it. Godhands are a bit weird because they make the high FTP WSs clearly better than VS, which means that you should definitely be using them instead of VS when killing something you can one-shot, but I have always wondered how it stacked up against monsters that didn't die in one WS.
Right now I'm farming exemplar points on Apex Bats (@M.Level 16) with a Geo mule (Haste + Frailty + Entrust Fury) + Trusts (Qultada, Joachim, Apururu), so I decided to run a simple trial where I use exclusively one at a time and parse the WS average via scoreboard and monitor EP/hr via pointwatch. As expected, I found that Raging and Howling did basically the same damage as each other with my gear/buffs (35k), while Victory Smite did ~30% less damage (25k). Despite its lower damage, VS ended up being the clear winner due to skillchains (25% of parse) and increased EP/hr by almost 50% because it let me maintain chain far more consistently. I remain tempted by Tornado Kick and might throw it into the competition later today because it makes two level 1 skillchains skillchains and should have better mods / base damage with Footwork up at least. Perhaps something like desynchronizing Impetus/Footwork and using this would be ideal: * Footwork up: Tornado Kick * Otherwise (including Impetus up): VS that's all in line with my simulation results. but for non-godhands i do spiral > smite > smite when fw is down.
The Nyame set with it's SC damage did very well for FW TK > TK > TK as well, this was the set that got me the best results (R20):. ItemSet 383533 Cerberus.Shadowmeld

The more buffs I have the more Raging and Howling seem to outpace VS for me (With Godhands). I've done a lot of ML where I had both brd and geo (real ones) and I just can't get my VS numbers consistent. It could very well be my sets though, but definitely got much better production just spamming Raging Fists than SC with VS. I don't have any parse data to back this up though. If I'm feeling Frisky, I'll do Raging Fists > lol Asuran Fists > Raging Fists for Liquifaction > Fusion. End with 2 VS if I can, but 4/5 step is hit or miss.
Edit: Apex Promy mobs here, just to avoid the crowds. i believe the ones in promies can change their resistances, so that might be part of the reason why you think that. but the math supports skillchaining, even just two steps would be better.
Shijin smite smite is my general go to too, Except I kinda hate that when you get AM it stops working. Always hated that.

Sorry, I mean I don't seem to be able to get consistent damage out of VS. VS consistently does much less than 1/2 my Raging Fists damage. There are some mitigating things here, I usually hold TP to 1500 on RF, where you can essentially spam VS at 1000 TP, but the gist is I've just never seemed to be able to get VS consistent enough for me.

Vsmite is generally kinda weak without Impetus, but with Impetus it shouldn't be that low. Are you using Empy+1 body for VS during Impetus? |
