NMs in FFXIV ?
Hi, does anyone know what the plan for NMs is in FFXIV, I personally had great fun camping in FFXI ( pre Abyssea ), Will there be a place for the kind of HNMLS we used to see in the early days of FFXI ( Camping things like LOo, ROC, SERK, KA, SIM, OLBY, BEHEMOTH, FAF, ASPID, BUNE, ETC ), Also what kind of spawn conditions could we expect, I remember endlessly killing placeholders to pop certain mobs as well as the challenge of trying to figure out the spawn conditions for others, I never played 1.0 or followed it much so I'm a bit in the dark on this subject matter, all I can say is I'm loving what I have seen of the revamp and am just hoping they look out for us NM nuts.
Quote: Q32: How will we fight NMs in A Realm Reborn? Will they only appear in FATE battles and dungeons? A32: For the most part, NMs will only appear in FATE battles. Description of FATE: Quote: JPGAMES: Would you like to tell us more about the FATE System? YOSHIDA: So this FATE System stands for Active Time Event and is a new type of Quest System. The normal quests or subquests are usually for solo play, but FATE is more like a Real Time Quest, which can happen anywhere in the world and the players, who are there at the time, when it happens, can automatically join without any hassle and you don’t need to have a party. For example, there could be like a huge monster attacking the player in the field or the NPCs are being attacked by robberies. Then you can sort of fight against the monsters and robbers and help the NPCs. ![]() I guess it could be a fairer system for HNMs but I would still love to see smaller NMs being introduced that players could camp for profit, used to get a buzz from getting the claim and an even bigger one if it dropped lol

Each time he dies he get more powerful and remember a small % of his memory. Yoshi-p said that it would get to the point that only top endgame shell can fight odin. He would also drop better and better drops each time he killed. So far that the only type of HNM i can think of that it's in FFXIV without being part of F.A.T.E So i guess there on HNM there :) Hades.Tudds said: » Hmmm sounds interesting :) You can also find roaming primals but it's more of click them and get teleport to a area to fight them. Like titan or ifrit and once you win you can do few other things to be allow to summon a full power of the primal. I think the only primal your not allow to get under a free company control is elder primals at least not for many years to come. this "fate" quest system is also @ guild wars2. it's good they are taking some fresh ideas from other mmos

So there you go :) with only 100 inv i'm happy they added i hope at release they add way to make it at least to 150 or 200 because 100 is way to small. Latifah said: » this "fate" quest system is also @ guild wars2. it's good they are taking some fresh ideas from other mmos The first MMO I knew with anything similar was Warhammer AoR's public quests. I liked the idea and am happy it has spread. If you what the benchmark video, it looks like the primals from 1.0 will be open world and will act just like the HNMs, but they will not spawn on the same location.
So far what I understand of the roaming primals is: They will be roaming the open world. First FC to attack is the want that has the hold on it just like HNMs. You can only hold the Primal for 2 weeks. A Summoner of that FC can only use it one time and the Primal goes back to the open world. There will be a World Weather change or display when a Primal goes back to the open world so that players knows to start looking. fmadrigal said: » They will be roaming the open world. From a mid-2012 interview: Quote: RPG Site: Primal fights will become roaming in 2.0 for the summoning system; are there any specifics you could go into? Will weapons and things like that still be obtainable, and will there still be instanced fights like which are available in the current version? Yoshida: Most of the primals will not be “roaming” the public areas, and their battles will still be instanced, though it will be more challenging to discover these instances. Koji: It looks like there was a little bit of misinformation given at the E3 interview (and this may have been my fault, or it may have been Yoshida-san’s). The implication given was that all the primals would be roaming, and once they were summoned, they would pop somewhere else in the world. This is not the case. While roaming primal are still not out of the question, the summonable deities will be instanced-based, with the primal going back to these instances once they’ve been summoned. However, players will still have to look for these instances once they’ve become available, preventing camping. source Zettai Ryouiki said: » fmadrigal said: » They will be roaming the open world. I bet it be a dark glowing crystal somewhere in the area and once you have a party together and click it you get teleport to the instances. It be better to see the primal moving around and once you click him/her it teleport you to the instance but i guess we have to see what they mean by looking for the instance lol. |
