What's your favorite FFXI NPC, and why?
My favorite is definitely Shantotto. She's insane, and completely full of herself. Also yay Windurst!
**SPOILER ALERT**
Several of my favorite scenes with her include WotG where she more or less ruins Lehko's tactics and blows things up with her magic (laughing while casting... sooooooo awesome) and apparently hi-jacked a unit of War Warlocks. I wouldn't say no to Shantotto <.<;;. I also enjoyed the various scenes in ToAU (I still haven't finished it...) but I have to say her and the Cardian absolutely amuse me.

I like my NPC best, just because I chose her and spend the most time with her (as opposed to the other NPCs.) She'll probably kick my arse when I try to break her level cap!
As for non-personal NPC's, I think Cid is the one who amuses me most. I think it's just because he's the only one with teeth.

Cid's teeth scares me. D: Also whenever I get around to leveling my NPC, I'm not looking forward to fighting a PLD/NIN Yoli ._.;;;;

Mine's probably Ayame even though she isn't in too many CS's. She looks closest to the type of woman I go for irl.
Second and third place go to Lion and Cornelia. Gotta love the unique npc's. =D
And then bringing up the rear is Areuhat simply b/c being able to turn into a Wyrm is awesome.

^^ I wish they showed more of Ayame. I'm not Bastokian so I've probably missed most of her CSes but... she looked cool. Lion/Cornelia look pretty spiffy, just because they're unique. Areuhat is kickass though.... D: Also Sha'ir is my favorite armor, so it's a double bonus.

Yeah, but that's what makes him amusing. It's like, how do I explain. It's like when you drive past a car accident or police pulling someone over, and you know you shouldn't look because it's rude and nosy, but then you just can't help but look anyways because of this curious fascination thing. Cid's teeth are scary. But that's what makes cs's with him so fun!

Semih Lafihna gets my vote. After some windurst mission cutscenes and the RNG AF storyline, I am convinced she is 100% badass ^^

,~_~, Lion drives me nuts. She's always running around looking badass, but she never DOES anything. Women don't get anywhere by standing around in skimpy skirts looking pretty! She needs to kick a dragon's butt or chop someone's head off. Then I'd like her just fine!

Yeah that's true, she doesn't do anything. (Never really thought about that o.o;) D: That's why Shantotto is superior IMO! >.>; She kicks all sort of butt. I actually wonder why they never made Lion do anything..... blegh. Also, Lion reminds me of FFX-2 Rikku.

Everytime I see Invincible Shield in campaign, he's a phailure. If you want a real kick-butt campaign NPC, try Kayeel-Payeel or Areuhat.
