Sorry, its a PITA to quote on mobile, but i realize theres a lot of context missing in my post. I was responding to “its a dps loss to use entropy when you can spam cross”. I was hoping the mention of “dps loss” would help show what i was trying to respond to.
Wouldn't know. I don't usually use schere unless I'm using Foenaria. Unless I'm foing kalunga or something where I don't want to pull hate.

Then a few quick questions:
-Is it worth getting a Ragnarok if you have a Calad?
- Currently fulltiming Caladbolg. But having GA, GS, sword, and Scythe access... is it better to stick to one weapon during a fight or should you rotate? Like, switching to Apoc to for Catastrophe for HP or entropy MP, or GA for armour/full break? Or to skill chain with another weapon.

To add regarding GA. Fell Cleave Drk is a force of nature. Definitely the best AOE option Dtk has IMO. You'd never want to use it for as an everyday weapon but having a macro for fell cleave and armor break i consider a must.

I know drg and sam can do this but think it would be a hard sell on Drk and i honestly see zero point of it. Even if possible, youll be nerfing any ws that scales with tp for the sake of a sc that most like will not be better then qhat you could do staying with the best weapon. It's best to stick to one weapon per fight, unless you are opening with armor break and then swapping back to GS or Scythe.
Caladbolg offers simplicity. You get a two step light and all the other percs that come with the weapon (white dmg, a good easy sc, flexibility with other jobs to make good skillchains) at the cost of limiting skillchaing options because GS is among the worst weapon types for skillchain. If you're look8ng for more sc ability, Scythe is the way to go. 4 and 5 step darkness skillchains are very easy to make at the cost of weapon delay and typically weaker ws numbers (cross reaper and origin excluded).
Not sure what you're trying to do but I recommend just stick8ng with one weapon at a time.

Not too much really, you carry a GA for breaks and the mentioned FC above and otherwise move to your preferred weapon of choice. You might be able to do something just messing around but spammings still probably the way to go

When I was bored, I used to multi step using Raetic Algol+1 and Father Time Path B. Losing TP wasn't much of a penalty when every weapon had follow up attacks.
Resolution > Torcleaver (Distortion) > Insurgency (Fusion) > Entropy (Gravitation) > Torcleaver (Darkness) > Quietus (Darkness [lvl.4])
Torcleaver > Insurgency (Fusion) > Resolution (Light) > Torcleaver (Light)
Resolution > Torcleaver (Distortion) > Insurgency (Fusion) > Resolution (Light) > Torcleaver (Light [lvl.4])
Entropy > Resolution (Fragmentation) > Insurgency (Light) > Torcleaver (Light [lvl.4])
Granted an occasional entropy was needed to keep MP top off, but it was entertaining.
It's just for funsies. It worked with NQ Raetic weapons when I had no REMAs and I was just grinding job points on Apex Pugils.

I don't think you'd want you swap out of Caladbolg anyways, as you lose AM3. DRK really isn't the job for that kind of optimization, or I should say it's unnecessary. You deal so much damage just with Torcleaver alone that it's not much of an advantage. Now Anguta/Redemption might be a different story

Hello, I haven’t played since like the introductions of master levels. When I left I was starting to making caladbolg. With the introduction of prime weapons is there any point to caladbolg? Assuming that I have other geared jobs to help me obtain the stage 5 prime weapons.

Calads still competitive with AM3 and a light making machine, but primes still generally better afaik for raw GS DPS

Stage 4 primes are best case 3 months to complete with a very good group, stage 5 is minimum 6 months.
The primes will out-perform empyrean most of the time, imo, but with these restrictions of time to create primes, it may be worth making empy for the intervening time, that's a personal decision. Ditto for DNC, in my opinion

Caldabolg is still a monster and I'd argue that's it is still the most dmg that drk can do, atleast compared to stage 4 primes. At worst it's very closely bebind the stage 4 GS and just ahead of scythe.

Thanks everyone for the responses regarding weapon swapping. I've decided to complete the GA ambu weapon for armour break, and am almost done stage 4 of apoc heh.
My weapon arsenal for DRK is shaping up nicely. At the moment:
-Caladbolg
-Blurred Shield +1
-Naegling
-Hepatizon axe +1
-Kaja Axe
-Apoc on the way
As for JP, when does DRK start to feel the effects of JPs? At the 500 mark or ?

I see I see. So any large bump in DMG will come from master levels then and gear? I often see DRKs Torc WSing for 40k+ consistently while not being fully mastered.
I only have WAR to 60, but I have been debating taking it to 99 since I appear to like having an arsenal of weapons to use - I just like being prepared and ready to use whatever heh. I already have Shining One, naeg/bltrred.. but I really like the access to dark magic and my JAs as DRK. I'm also super turned off by having to build Ukon atm after finishing Caladbolg and working on Apoc xD...
