This might actually make my dnc more useful in NNI........ so much for lvling Drk.....
Embrava disproportionately favored 2handers. So yeah, DNC inproves but I dunno if it improved THaT much.

You can't kill ***slowly if you want to succeed. If you make things unable to do any damage to you, they'd be way too easy and just flop over with little to no support. Also, outside of Voidwatch there are maybe two or three mobs that can actually one shot you right the *** away without PD if you're just unlucky. Nerfing Haks is next!
Ixion's Lightning Spear can be deadly if it hits you, but that's if you are slow enough to get hit by it lol......
Carbuncle.Josiahfk said: » Embrava for 210 seconds wow... lol the regain is doable to live without but come on duration too? lordy lordy 90 seconds will make it about 500 seconds with AF3+2 hands. Assuming the JA bonus works the way it should. Regardless why make us refresh. We have no use for the TP spell we got and our embrava doesn't give t now. This is insane. Refresh wont even stack if a sch has sublimgation up. BS. Remora.Kyron said: » Refresh wont even stack if a sch has sublimation up I would assume Embrava itself gives the refresh effect, and that it would stack, the way that Embrava's regen stacks with Regen V. Bismarck.Kelhor said: » Remora.Kyron said: » Refresh wont even stack if a sch has sublimation up I would assume Embrava itself gives the refresh effect, and that it would stack, the way that Embrava's regen stacks with Regen V. Regen is different. If a sch has sublimation up, and a rdm or /rdm cast refresh it won't stack. So I highly doubt SE will let it. Odin.Registry said: » [ As it turns out, most current relevant events have 15-30 minute timer. You can't kill ***slowly if you want to succeed. Hence Unsustainable Fantasy XI: Rise of the Ragnaroks. SE claims to have designs for revamping enmity and putting the game back on the track of proper balance (tanks tanking, enmity being relevant, healers needing to heal etc.) which means the stringent timers will eventually either have to go or become something reasonable like Salvages 100min timer, the old 60min timers of Ouryu and B2 or even 45min timers like Walk of Echoes. I don't know what got to the devs but this game isn't Guild Wars, WoW or TOR where the game was designed for fast paced combat. Certain jobs, weapons and abilities are designed precisely to be useful in slower combat and if they are to ever be relevant again the game needs to be more about slower battles that utilize mechanics like Prov Watchers -DT% fetters or phased battles where strategy needs to be employed outside a race to lowering the mobs HP to 0. Zergs are always going to exist but in a game like FFXI a game of solely zerging leaves the game worse for wear. Odin.Registry said: » AF3+2 gloves give enhancement 2.5 to spells being cast. 210 * 2 = 420. 420 + 100 = 500 seconds. Regen is different. If a sch has sublimation up, and a rdm or /rdm cast refresh it won't stack. So I highly doubt SE will let it. Ummmmmmm, it's the same concept. Refresh doesn't stack with Refresh II. Regen I, II, III, IV, don't stack with V. Regen I, II, II, IV, OR V will stack with Embrava. Adloq will stack with Embrava. Refresh I OR Refresh II should stack with Embrava, same with Sublimation. Embrava is a buff in and of itself. It would probly work like a passive refresh than a "Refresh/Refresh II" spell, since its tied to the embrava ability not a spelled called "Refresh/Refresh II".
There's regen, and then there's Regen.
Likewise, there's refresh, and Refresh. The caps indicate a specific buff (RDM Refresh) vs an effect (refresh via gear, ballads, evoker's roll, blah blah blah). SCH's big buff spell won't be made incompatible with one of it's own job's signature abilities. Remora.Kyron said: » Odin.Registry said: » AF3+2 gloves give enhancement 2.5 to spells being cast. 210 * 2 = 420. 420 + 100 = 500 seconds. So about 6:30 minutes You're pulling those numbers out of your ***. Why are you adding a random 100 seconds and starting with a random 210? It's a 90 second duration. With +2 hands you get 2.5x the duration. 90 x 2.5 = 225 Same as old/current Embrava, it has/had 5 minute duration. 5 minutes x 2.5 = 12.5 minutes. Anyway, I should go, I didn't see the time D: I'm late for class! This will open up the doors for new setups for NNI. I don't think this is the end of NNI, just new setups. Getting to F100 will be much tougher if not nearly impossible, but F80 is def. possible. More skill will be required to make up for the Embrava.

This is all part of SEs master plan to make SAM the job of choice again.
You still said 90 seconds will make it 500 seconds.

You'll have double marches, double minuets, double madrigals and hell there's even space for more songs if they have 99 harps.

This nerf had to happen if SE has any legitimate will to right the game post Abyssea as the current path became increasingly unsustainable in both monster design and player damage output. With Voidwatch we saw one strategy which was to hide behind Fanatics Drinks (effectively Perfect Defense in a bottle) because monsters were scaled up so high to counter the myriad abilities handed out to us during Abyssea. It was a quick fix, a sloppy fix that moved the game from being what it was - a slow paced MMO - to one that wanted to be modern in its speed and action except the game isn't built like that. The need to pop Embrava to do anything became a technical issue as anything designed had to be designed with the reality that players had PD and Embrava at their fingertips on huge duration timers via mules or Perp'd recasting. So you have super powerful mobs, a capped haste zerg ability, massive TP regain and the ability to become invincible at will. ***, lets just play an offline FF with such power because everything boiled down to ZERG IT and many of the games jobs have been thrown into the wastebin because of it. With these two abilities off the table perhaps we can get some challenging HNMs again and not ***that vaporizes you for being too close. Scherzo was mentioned before and while it exists it only exists because of shitty knee-jerk design that turned NMs into cones of death and spheres of death. Sure, you can hide behind it to keep yourself alive but why exactly is that a mechanic to begin with? Is being instagibbed some kind of challenge mechanic? Were you dying instantly at Fafnir 'n pals @75? At Dark Ixion? Tiamat? Jorm? Vrtra? At ZNMs? VNMs? SCNMs? Also, you only needed CSS/Invince on Seiryu if your rangers were bad. Sky? Didn't need 2hrs as you could Shadowbind Seiryu and Limbus didn't require any 2hrs to complete the entire event. Shadowbind was always broken by some idiot.
