And I agree. The way that they presented this fanfest and the fact that it was streamed multilingual has been fantastic fun. I hope it isn't the last.

Wait, wait, wait! "Dream Oath~ Drake and Maria"?!
It has certainly renewed my interest in the game. SoA will almost certainly get me playing again at some point before its release. Its been a blast to watch.
Yes, that's Nobuo at the keyboard. He started growing his hair out a few years ago.
Oh ~Swoon.
This song.. is like my ultimate jam. I go grocery shopping with this on. I met him at the Distant Worlds concert in Atlanta last year. Where did I put that photo?
My heart T~T
Draco and Maria was one of the best performances of the entire show in Distant Worlds.. This version is pretty good too, but if any of ever get the chance please do go see a Distant Worlds concert some time. Absolutely breathtaking. =)
this is epic. love the opera scene!!
You know for what is essentially a free concert for those of us who didn't pay to get into Vanafest, this is epic. Even paid concerts don't always get this awesome.
just imagine what FFVI would've been like if it was made more recently. One of my truly favorite events in an FF game
Ahhh... I love this song. I have the old Orchestral Game Concert CD that has the song on it.

One of my truly favorite events in an FF game this x100 was thinking of replaying it again (think i've played the game 5x easily) lol, can't say that for many other FF's (except 10, but thats another story altogether >.>) Wow, they are playing the entire thing. I was expecting them to cut to the next verse.

Takes me back to my teen years....great times
I love this version, but I can't say I like the recording of it on the Black Mages III album...
i <3 the black mages.
Edgar uses <Flash>
I love "Battle with the Four Fiends" from the second album. I play it every time I'm on the interstate, lol
I still play VI on SNES till this day.
Every time I start it up I get all giddy. I really hope this gets posted separately for future enjoyment.

I've seen it performed live a few times, and they always do the whole version. :) As Darsha said above, the live opera version is AMAZING. The recording on the Distant Worlds CD is really well done and will give you a feel for what it's like. First time I heard it live, I was about ten rows back from the stage, on the same side that the performers stood on. The woman singing Maria's part had tears in her eyes while performing it. They got a well-deserved standing ovation. |
