Dark Souls & other Souls-Likes
I wound up just using like 3 casts of Homing Crystal Soulmass or something like that.
Well twinking is still alive and well, and it's definitely something that I don't miss in Dark Souls 1. I'm a level 12 Warrior of Sunlight helping newbies with the gargoyles, and in the short time from the base of the church to the roof invaded. Guy in full Smough's with a Lightning *** Sword +10 or whatever. I hit him with Lightning Spear, it did 207, and he proceeded to one shot me and the host and then point down.
Like, I get the appeal of twinking the first few times, but how can it be fun after like one day of it? Like, it's not a show of skill, you don't even have to beat the bosses to get what you want for the level range you're twinking. You just get a friend to give you the items/give them to them on a diff char, and then do that whole ringamaroll. Then you start pwning Newbs. And there's no challenge or resistance. LIke I know matchmaking in Souls games has never been perfect, and invaders have been getting increased difficulty in the most recent/final installments, but going back to DS1 or Demon's Souls, and it's like no rules just rape lol. All I know is ball, and good... ...and rape. Asura.Vyre said: » Switched to offline & never looked back, and that's been how I play my first playthroughs ever since. Has anybody played Nioh yet? I wanna know what you guys think about it.

DS2: Leona fashion with Ruler's Cheesesword, Majestic Greatsword and a Rapier. Darius fashion with Drakekeeper's Greataxe. Lee Sin fashion with bone fist was good times. Mordekaiser fashion with Drakekeeper Great Hammer and Force for high impact sexual violence. Dragonslayer Vayne fashion with Aveylnn/Sanctum Crossbow. Tenzen fashion with Dragonslayer Greatbow and various katanas was a lot of fun. Negan fashion with Reinforced Club and Steve Irwin cosplay with binoculars and various sticks to poke things. I know, I'm a terrible person. (I never heard anything about the souls series until DS2 commercials started airing and praise memes started showing up everywhere, so good on them.) DS3: a l l t h e w e a p o n s Ramza fashion with Caestus or Parrying Dagger as a sub weapon. I rarely use the caestus for parries against players, opting to throw repeating fist instead. Gargoyle Flame Spear, Lorian's Greatsword, Astora Greatsword, Farron Greatsword, and Millwood Greatbow are my go-to weapons for basically everything, but I probably have damn near 40 some weapons on me at +9/10 for whatever floats my boat. The "I stole everything from Elmdor" fashion set is for special occasions. Twinked level 40-something pathbroken Shyvana with +10 Demon Fists running around invading at Lothric Castle was pretty dirty. ...and of course, three mean Leonas with mean Leona things. I played Demon's Souls at a friend's after I got into the series, but not all that much, and I'm not buying a PS4 just to play Bloodborne. I feel like From will more than likely go back and remaster the King's Field series after their Armored Core kick, or whatever the *** they end up doing. Helping a friend with the DS3 DLCs today. He bugged out on me when we got to Ringed City to hit up the gym, so might finish it up later tonight. Actually looked up Gael's weaknesses to see what I can do to make it easier on myself to kill it for him. Turns out Gael is weak to poison/frost/hollowslayer/farron sword etc. I knew there'd be vids out there with Storyteller staff, dung pies, toxic mist etc. but had to try it for myself. Took a few tries since I haven't played in a minute, but even the weakest poison and frost make the fight so much easier.

Just finished up both Ashes and Ringed City for my bud. Midir is a pain with more than one person in the fight, causing him to flail about incessantly. Luckily, Pestilent Mercury utterly destroys him.
Killed Gael with poop for my bud. Good times. After seeing my friend, who's playing BB for the first time, struggle with Ebrietas, I made this vid for him:

The handwritten message is from Kitao, FromSoftwares PR guy directly to EpicNameBro. Of course I'm psyched for the remake, would love a DeS remake, I never played it, maybe I should try and get it before the servers go down.

Seems like no Elden Ring talk happened here (I would presume it happened, if at all, in RT)
Anyways, anybody else played the demo of Lies of P? It's quite long for a demo (so I suspect that, once the game is out, you'll be able to continue your playthrough from where you stopped in the demo). The game seems to have the captured the "soul" of the Souls experience (pun not intended) while having an identity of its own. The presentation, art and music are all lovely. I'm pretty stoked about it! (haven't felt this way about a game for a few years) |
