[dev1141] Monstrosity (Play-as-a-Monster)

Dunno if ppl have mentioned this already but:

Bee is obtained by quest in the the place where you select/gear your monster, I forget the name.

Bee: War
lvl:1 100tp; sharp sting. high dmg, low Acc, good one tho.
lvl:10 100tp; pollen. Low heal, not up2 much.
lvl:15 unlocked mage version. Rdm, kicks ***.
lvl:30 300tp; frenzied pollen. Hundred fists.
also at 30 Fly is unlocked

Fly: War
lvl:1 70tp Venom, useless
lvl:10 100tp; Cursed Sphere, even more usless. does little no 0 dmg.
lvl:30 Unlocks Rdm version, again, kicks ***.
lvl:30 150tp;Somersault, massive dmg, around 500% high acc. Very nice.
lvl:45 unlocked Ladybird monster.
somewhere in there i unlocked the wamouracampa too. Not sure how I missed it in the chat log but I did :3

Wamouracampa: Pld
lvl: 1 Amber Scutum, Def bonus, seems around 10-15%, didn't test much
lvl:10 Thurmal Pulse, Enfire and blaze spikes, low dmg but I was low lvl so as to be expected, the guy has massive movement speed reduction too. maybe around 50%. kinda funny but annoyingly slow lol. no mage version made at 15

Ladybug: Thf
lvl:1 130 tp;Sudden lunge, around 150% low stun time.
lvl:10 100 tp; Noisome powder, seems like a full 40% atk down.
lvl:30 100 tp;Spiral Spin, a 200% atk,not bad at all.
Sorry for bad layout, 1st time postin' on the old forums~ most should be correct but i dont have ffxi open so doing it on memory. fly is pretty awsome :D guna take to 50 later n see if he get anything special and my ladybug too~ On a side note, the rdm ones can cure and buff other monsters ^^

Has anyone come across the species having a white frame like and HQ - not the instinct block.

I'm sure most old school BLM know about mob pet nuking. I was at the ice lake in the glacier killing the 2 BST pets there as a rabbit. Had to kill one of the gigas on second account to get two BST Gigas. Started at 24, left at 36. Chain #5 sometimes 6 for 500-600. Slowed at 34 when pets became DC, but exp was still fast and plentiful. Only dangers are aggro from line of sight gigas, and the elementals. I'm sure once you get to 30 you can kill these without nukes. Happy hunting.

As a quick correction to the above info, Somersault is Fly 20 and makes what would otherwise be a horrible trek to 30 bearable.

Somersault is so GD awesome. Deals 300% Damage for 150TP, was dealing around 300-350 Dmg to the IT Clippers/Worms in Qufim (Which is like 60% of their HP lol).

makes getting to 30 a lot easier. I hit chain 29 in Qufim on Fly... got like 3 levels in that chain LOL

Yah, someone please bug Motenten to make some DPS spreadsheets for PokéMonstrosity. I'm particularly interested to know if RDM Fly is more optimal than Panopt.

After trying most of them, I think its fair to say flytrap is THE WORST treck 1-30 :/

I can't imagine Flytrap being anything but awful until higher levels where you likely get the NM Version (Damage-dealing) of their TP moves

Panopt is one of my contenders for next 60 so I might be able to supply at least one side of the perspective. 57 Morbol right now at 60 its between panopt, mandy to see if you get a chloris at 50~60, and flytrap cause I can just imagine SE making you lvl that ***to 50 to get goobbue.

Edit: so if anyone has or is testing any of that let me know so I can do something else!

You clearly haven't tried Wamouracampa yet. 50% movement speed is terrible.

Chloris Mandy almost certainly unlocked via Trading 25 Pachypodium Souls to the Cointeach guy... (Same as "Beetle Souls" Quest), Theres one for Mandragora, Beetle, and one other mob in the .dats (and in the FFXIAH Item Update section)... Strangely enough likely linked to Mog Gardens :D

Strangely enough, Rocl believes these may Unlock Grativic horn Antlion, Chloris Mandragora, and Rhino Wrecker Beetle... and i think he's right

Doesn't seem to apply to GEO and I would assume the same for RUN.

I am 99x22, Maat's Cap but no other 75 limit quests. I DID do the GEO AF quests (not counting the 3 crafting materials ones), and now my GEO is half price. By comparison, I have done all the AF quests on all the other jobs (except RUN) and that did not make those jobs (BLU, PUP, etc.) half price.

In summary, doing AF quests for GEO and RUN seems to get you the half price instinct.

To do the af quests you had to clear their versions of maat and you wont have done the pup cor blu sch and dnc versions of maat.

Ive been levelling the flytrap to 30 today, i havent had much problem with it.
I've got Sabotender/DRK/Mandy instincts equipped, hitting for 100s against T+, its not that bad.

It's been confirmed that in order to buy the job instincts for half price that you need to have finished the level 70 limit break for that job.

Can you be a Leafkin,or will that be added maybe at a later date?

It isn't that its horrible, it is that after something like rabbit, sapling or tiger it feels soooooo slow.

I havent tried any of those yet, though Korrigan was pretty fast.

60 Molbol (all models) gets Putrid breath. AoE dmg for 250tp. Dmg is worse than miasmic and it costs more. :/ Doesn't open any quests or options to buy anything.

Morbol Instinct II: HP+5%, 5 Str, status ailment resist+20

Opinion on playing morbol: 2/5 stars, I spent almost the entire time saying "hopefully the next move I'll get will be really good" and it never really happened. Also, I really wanted to be a pink aht urgan morbol and it never happened so it looses a star. If people figure out how to unlock that, I'd move it back up to 3 stars because it was average kill speed/survivability. :3

is Impale not that good? I expected it being the a Physical TP move It'd be pretty nice... But yah, Malboro never had strongly damaging TP moves, just had horrible effects attached to them.

Impale does the same as a melee hit, vampiric lash does about 25dmg, sweet/bad/maismic breath all did about 400 when unresisted. The only saving Grace is Maismic's 30~dmg a tic DoT, and the fact Morbols hit pretty hard on normal melee hits.


Side note, Panopts apperantly get Vashkania (fan dark dmg) at lvl 30, but apperantly I can't use it for some reason. No idea why.

Theres a "Known Issue" with the System that sometimes Abilities you can't yet use will show up in your ability list. This might be what they were talking about.

Adamantoises are in the Lizard superfamily.

What job are Morbols? WAR?

If Pachypodium Souls turn out to just unlock the Pachypodium version of Mandragora rather than the Adenium (Chloris) model that'd still be pretty sweet. Petalback Spin and Tepal Twist are OP.

Didnt know that I always thought it was an aquan. Could try getting bugard to 30 or 50 and then see if it unlocks or see if the skull thingy will give you a quest.
