In order to live through it, you pretty much have to have a dedicated person spam dia the entire 3 minutes. At least that's what happened the 1 time we attempted it and succeeded. And you have to keep doing it every time he does the move. So I don't think G is solo friendly. Does anyone know much about the player, Saltion? I may have the wrong player name, but it's the JP player in Shonut's group who apparently gets some crazy things out of BLU.
From a broken conversation I had with a JP player over g-translate, it sounded like Saltion does for BLU what Papesse does for SMN. Can anyone confirm or debunk this? Never heard of him.

Returning player, was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of the most current BLU.lua for gearswap? Or if anyone has their own that they can share with the updated sets, I could validate to see what gear i'm missing and such.
Thanks for the help! Hi gang, my dumb *** is finally getting around to putting GS together. I hope fellow BLUs can help me out; my lua is in the following pastebin:
https://pastebin.com/YTVGX9nh I have omitted my actual sets out of embarrassment but I have been using the //gs export command to populate the lists and have been "--" noting any sets that are not in use. I'm currently pulling the error "...BLU.lua:285: attempt to index field 'Blue Magic' (a nil value)". (In the pastebin it is line 201, where the spell sets start). I'm assuming it has something to do with the custom spell mapping I tried to do. I have the Mote-Include.lua and organizer-lib in my libs folder along with my BLU lua. Just trying to get ahead of any common fixes people might suggest (inputting sets wrong/not having the proper luas in their places). You need to add the following line above that one
Code sets.midcast['Blue Magic'] = {} So it should look like this Code ... --Blue Magic sets. --Physical spells. sets.midcast['Blue Magic'] = {} sets.midcast['Blue Magic'].PhysicalAcc = {} ... ![]() HEllo everyone, simple question about recast time, in condition of a full recast time capped, Feather Tickle who have a base recast of 90s will have a max recast of 90s * 0.2 so 18s.
I'm right or i forgot something ? Both Reaving Wind and Feather Tickle end up at 18s recast which means you can cast them 9 seconds apart so they don't overlap. That is how I was doing BLU on Mboze at least.
Gives you a nice window to toss out MG or a new Flutter/Diamondhide as needed. Has anyone used BLU for Ongo? Any advice for Earth damage? It kind of an oddball use but we are looking at doing 2 KIs like a lot of groups.
Embalming Earth and Entomb stand out. Thank you! Neither Earth Spell will deal great damage, your main contribution is Chain Affinity on timer to make Darkness SC with NIN, Burst Affinity Entomb occasionally (you can hit somewhat high ones, like 12k+), Amplification yourself, land Enervation if you're lucky (aura is pretty much necessary, but if using BST for TP reset, probably not gonna see that), and keep Mighty Guard up on the group after lobby entrust-haste falls. You can Plenilune Embrace the NIN to enhance his Earth Magic nukes if the SMN's Dream Shroud isn't already stronger. Searing Tempest might land Burn.
From my experience on BLU and watching other BLUs, they contribute far less than SMN (Night Terror), NIN (Doton MB), and RDM (Enspell), but damage is damage I suppose. Lobby Entrust Acumen, Malaise, INT, Languor all contribute a little bit. I can confirm the numbers Bukki gave.
I was second in dps though, very close to the min, on a few (unsuccessful) runs slightly above. The lowest we brought it on KI1 was uhm 65%ish? Around that. But usually it was something like 67/68 Thank you both! Found out today I'm playing BLU tomorrow night lol.
Which Chain Affinity SC did you use? Also which weapons did you use? You don't happen to have a spell list? My plan was to use the standard AOE nuke list and add necessary spells. Quadratic Continuum > Blade: Hi
NIN full-times Gokotai in DW build for Regain+100 cap. NIN will obviously gain TP faster than BLU, but when Chain Affinity goes down, you can do CDC > Blade: Hi with your PLD if he gains enough TP from getting hit occasionally. I used Tizona, bunzi's or sakpata's for OH (the FC and refresh etc kinda helps), but I'm sure there's a case to be made to swap to Bunzi's/Maxentius for Magic Bursts. I don't have a spell list because BLU's role is relatively minor after skillchaining; basically loaded up on MAB trait spells, Tenebral Crush for Macc trait, anything with INT+ on it (Water Bomb, Amorphic Spikes, Retinal Glare, Subduction, Rail Cannon, Spectral Floe, Tenebral Crush all add a decent amount). Eat something with magic accuracy(stewpot), additional stuff like Amplification/Memento Mori on yourself (the latter is higher), Plenilune Embrace, Searing Tempest, whatever other support spells that could help. Entomb/Embalming Earth as mentioned. You can go 5/5 Chain Affinity/Burst Affinity to lower recasts if you want. I don't know how you could fit Convergence merits in, but if you care about maximizing your MB damage and could afford to drop 5 spell slots (for this fight it's less pertinent but I never bothered), you could swap Assimilation for Convergence. Losing 5 slots for this fight really isn't that big of a deal since your role is so reduced and you're not healing or tanking or anything (so you won't really need White Wind, enmity spells, Magic Barrier etc), so I guess this might be one of the few cases it might be worth it. Every little bit helps. We were using Quadratic Continuum to make Darkness.
BLU was our second highest DPS, after the RDM. Here's the spell setup I have. It may not be 100% perfect but should be a good baseline at the very least (come to think of it, gotta add Plenilune Embrace somehow): Ongo KI#1 Sub-Zero Smash Delta Thrust Barbed Crescent Sound Blast Searing Tempest Spectral Floe Auroral Drape Wind Breath Subduction Erratic Flutter Bad Breath Embalming Earth Entomb Cursed Sphere Magic Hammer Dream Flower Tenebral Crush SCs: PLD + NIN make Gravitation (Shun -> Requiescat) Shun -> Primal Rend -> CDC makes 3-step Darkness Shun -> Requiescat -> CA Quad. makes 3-step Darkness Awesome Info TY all!
Yeah I would just defer to whatever Maletaru says. I'm going completely off of my memory from a long time ago and he has very detailed notes, so that seems like a much more logical definition of what BLU should be doing. (like shun is a better option than Hi, 1 hit vs 4 hit, we didn't include BST in SC but that's very good idea)
Bst doesn't get much TP, they can only make like..2-3 SC throughout the whole fight, but it can help, every little bit helps.
FWIW, we never managed to get past 75% because of the add plus regen. If others are able to, maybe they have better advice or better setups than ours. Always open to questions or to provide more details if it helps. Could use the vim torque though. RDM or pld can wake you up. Also: volte harness once/day. If you find yourself struggling with damage output for whatever reason, mainly under 40%, consider using a 3 KI strat and kill the add that pops at 75%. It provides a lot of breathing room. Tough on segs, but highly recommend.
We also never got it below the 75% threshold from first KI using PLD NIN SMN BST RDM BLU. Carbuncle.Maletaru said: » Can't use spaliroisos or you lose your tp. Could use the vim torque though. Veydal1 said: » We also never got it below the 75% threshold from first KI Apparently, Sechs group did, but we never managed to get it past the Regen from the add at 74 either, though if you get it to 75 in KI1, your job is done. Sforzo pops on pull from KI2 and you can burn that timer getting it into position, it's perfect stopping point. |
