On rare occasion, I've been promoted from mage party to one of the parties with BRD and/or COR after one or two rounds of my performance, but I never ask to be or say anything about where I'm put otherwise. However, I will politely /tell a WHM or SCH for Protect V/Shell V if I'm in the mage party.

Oh Mado was all "Awww I'm not in the DD party?" during one of my runs, so I let her switch out to a DD party :P

It isn't that it's bad exactly, but Epona's and Rajas are both better.

I think in general they're only good for Mercy Stroke if you don't have khepri or something. Don't see a use on blu.

Heavy Strike maybe? Not sure if I'm outdated in this, but HS is still my favorite spell, especially paired with Efflux, but eyeballing it it seems to be my least accurate spell.

Related - is Amorphic Spikes still the best CA burst spell for CDC?

Is it even possible to get Heavy Strike up to the cap of 95% acc without losing tons of damage?

I suppose it depends on what you like for it, Amorphic is just less likely to miss than Benthic. And easier to gear.

It just feels like it misses more because you notice more, I suppose.

Same deal as with one hit weaponskills.

I'm actually about to change out Amorphic for it to see which one I like better for skillchaining.

No. It has no bonus or penalty to accuracy. An attack penalty is possible but I never finished testing it; the high WSC and fTP were always suspect to me when it came to numbers that actually came out of the thing.

Difference between the two for SC is a crapshoot. Benthic is cheaper and comes with the DEF down so I tend to favor it above AS unless I already have AS set for TH or something, but the fact that benthic will full miss far more often than AS due to it being a 1 hit is also there for consideration. AS's attack bonus will make it more reliable for damage on higher level/defense targets

I used to use the spell a lot but I found it has a bit of an issue with missing completely sometimes. Its not heavy strike bad but its definitely not a 95% hit rate.
It does have some weird z-axis issues similar to breath spells where it will miss multiple targets on uneven terrain when I round up a bunch of mobs then stand back a tiny bit and typhoon them all.

ItemSet 293032

Haven't looked at Agility pieces for blu for a fair while lol so this is all I could come up with on the fly.

I use blobnag ring because it's free >.>

95% acc means that 1 in 20 of your hits will miss. Back at 75, blu didn't use many single hit spells so it was hard to tell when you missed a hit but now we have Empty Thrash, benthic, whirl and heavy strike. And since you are more likely to use aoe spells when you can hit more than one mob, you're even more likely to see a "Fails to take effect message" with them.

I try to set benthic as much as I can. But I have to say, it's disappointing when your SC misses...

for the MDT set mollusca mantle is a -5% dt slightly better than the hexerei if you don't mind the movement speed down effect.

Question! What's the best set/sub for soloing KS99 wyrm at 99? Do I go with the /rdm set posted? I see mp drainkiss wasn't on there so I adapted it a lil, but I'm not sure I'm going in with the optimal defensive/offensive set. Also do I need a really good evade set? I got a cor buddy that's gonna join me for fun, to toss on Magus roll and ***too, but I just don't know.

Best sub, RDM. MP drainkiss is very helpful, you should be fine with a hybrid evasion set. A semi fire resist set/barfire should help during flight but otherwise decent -MDT set should suffice to take him down fast provided you use 1hr.

I gotta use AZ? Can't be done without it? When should that be used? In air, for benthic > quad to bring it down?

Thx for the info so far. I did see your video Dray, but it doesn't show like all your gear/spells and ***, though it is helpful.

That's how I've done it in the past. AL as soon as it takes off and trying to bring it down as fast as possible, I haven't had to solo it but I assume would be best to switch to hybrid or full evasion set right aferwards and try to recover some MP to keep your cures and buffs up for the rest of the fight.

How does Blu fare in Neo Slavage? Any particular spells you'd have set vs Hydra, Cerb and Dvergr?

I assume Requiescat is best vs Cerb and Pyric Hydra? I read on BG Heavy Strike is good for knocking out Hydra's head and that Temporal shift is the only reliable stun vs those mobs. Just wondering if the NQ/HQ bosses require any more defensive type spells, magic damage spells or require a certain sub.
