The accuracy of your spells is determined by your main-handed weapon's skill I believe.

For heavy strike I use:

My set Aint perfect though, but it gives extra accuracy to reduce the number of whiffs I get whilst maintaining some damage~
Reason there's no Str earrings in there is because of inventory issues, but feel free to use them.

Could probably swap the head for Aia's bonnet if DEX attributes to Physical spell accuracy too if you wanted.

mantis eye cuchu mantle potent belt should be enough if you're seriously missing a lot of heavy strikes, it could be that your mainhand skill(which is usually sword) isn't capped. Dex, Mainhand Skill, Accuracy, Physical potency merits is what physical accuracy is based off of. One of the 3 items (mantis eye being the most painless in comparison to other slots for gear) should be enough.

If your skills are capped then it could be the target you're using the spell against stuff like vw nms that are upper tier are going to evade the spell very easily and aren't compatible phys blue magic targets. You can get ok numbers off of them but almace is much superior.

I think this is a pretty solid set to aim for using heavy strike. Some people carry Tjukurrpa neck, if so use that. To answer your question though, Id say just use Magus body partially for inventory reasons. If you have it though, Toci's would be better.

This is what I use usually (having a bad day and whiffed heavystrike on 2 TE's in dynamis today ._. )
Don't have a custom piece for every slot yet for this spell, so these are the relevant pieces.

Sometimes I swap in mirage jubbah+2 for 15 more acc.

Mantis eye is always tricky cause aliyat chakram gets alot of use so I can't rely on it all the time.

My sword is capped and I have sword merits and i have 5/5 physical potency, i'm working on farming up a a fortitude torque, that should become another source of increased accuracy for physical spells correct? Inventory space is getting tight...

I should probably drop my AGI merits and do DEX in the hopes that improves my blu alittle more too.

I would use Magus Jubbah (+1) in Heavy Strike without Toci's.

Honestly, I find Heavy Strike just loves to miss at the worst times.

Fairly sure that potentia cape will do more damage than zaffre. I would also recommend abatteur subligar or thaumas kecks for legs (more accuracy). Dauntless mantle or letalis mantle is something you can consider for a back piece as well.

Using that setup, and pizza, you should be able to land heavy strike reliably on everything in salvage, including the bosses.

I think you're eyeballing your heavy strikes a bit too hard they're bound to miss at the crucial times and it's more pronounced when it does miss since you're relying on it to finish a mob or take a huge chunk out of it. You should parse and see if your acc on heavy is really an issue, I doubt it though.

Some suggestions been given already but you can use Aias Bonnet until Nemetoma and generally you want full dex and str merits over anything else unless you're a career rng (as I've heard)

I swear Heavy Strike has a -90% accuracy when using Chain Affinity or Efflux. It never misses for me except when I use those abilities :/

I haven't really had many accuracy issues with Heavy Strike, but I also don't do a lot of casting on stuff above DC/Tough because its such a waste of MP and rarely makes up for the lost melee damage from casting it.

Pro was wondering if you could add the atmacite choices for blu in vw for the different roles I know they are somewhere in the guide but would be useful to have them right there in the section for players to easily find

While I agree that having it in the OP is a good idea, here's what you're looking for.

DD atmacite are good for proccing, Deluges + Coercion + Tropics, Deluges + Coercion + Valiant for uncapped hitrate.

If you aren't dd'ing at all for some reason though, I guess fastcast haste might help you proc faster? I always keep DD atma's on cause I'm already gutting my spellsets for procs ; ;

i actually have no idea what you'd use if you arent meleeing, and tbh it really wouldnt matter since nothing you add at that point would make you any more useful. will add atma sections to abyssea and voidwatch sections and do the other suggested adjustments to weapon category etc.

also going to add a note under nematona tp sets that it isnt the best thing ever and is only applicable when dDEX is capped or too low to get significant benefit from the 13DEX on oce+1. people have been getting confused

there atma and atmacite added, weapon section adjusted, nematona note made. character cap cramping my style. considering dropping top end CDC and merging it with high end since it's 1 piece of gear difference, would give me extra room to add things like portus/rancor collar notes. kinda silly that code takes up characters in the character limit tho and it isnt just visible characters ):

On rare occasion, I've been promoted from mage party to one of the parties with BRD and/or COR after one or two rounds of my performance, but I never ask to be or say anything about where I'm put otherwise. However, I will politely /tell a WHM or SCH for Protect V/Shell V if I'm in the mage party.

No, hold out for the -1.

Tumbler Trunks are better than AF3 pants if you have the space.

It is actually.

Not as good as an augmented Diamond Ring though.

With the changes to itemset embedding I've been able to add more information and sets to the equipment section as well as tidy it up a little more.

-Removed text-based gear set titles
-Added requiescat set tiers to the actual post rather than having only links
-Added additional notes regarding nematona cap and portus collar

-------------------------

Archon Ring is best for SB, I don't have it in my SB set because I forgot it existed despite using one myself.
