The Beast Within -- A Guide to Blue Mage
Idk, to see if you go up a tier by increasing your skill by some amount multiply your current skill by 0.11 and the increased amount by 0.11 and see if you went past the next whole number!

Can't seem to stumble upon it anywhere. http://wiki.bluegartr.com/bg/Calculating_Blue_Magic_Damage Here is the detailed formula. The tiers basically work like this. you take your skill, multiply by .11, then floor it. So if the 5 skill brings you to the next integer, you've gone up a tier. If its not up an integer, it makes no differences because the formula is floored before the next step. (flooring is basically taking off the decimals) Fenrir.Sylow said: » Idk, to see if you go up a tier by increasing your skill by some amount multiply your current skill by 0.11 and the increased amount by 0.11 and see if you went past the next whole number! don't know if trolling... Edit: Thanks Dragonlord, works for me That is the same thing I said!

Blue magic base damage is covered in Section XII, along with other necessary damage calculation variables.

Dux during CA probably, way too lazy to do anything official at the moment though. Any other time you never want to take your Jubbah off. During CA, the additional 10STR and 20VIT is worth around 5~7 D (on QC), just eyeballing, which would outweigh the D gain from Jubbah considerably. Main issue would be the loss of ~13 attack. Offline

jubbah +1; gives roughly 3 damage tier upgrades + 5 Str and 5 Dex for soft acc.

This is my STR/DEX set.
Puts me at 473. Zaffre Cape gets me to the next tier so Mavi Tathlum is worthless. However in my STR/VIT set, I use Mirage Keffiyeh +2 and 480 doesn't get me to the next tier, so I'm guessing Mavi Tathlum is better for that set. Correct me if I made a mistake please. Anyone know what the base DMG is on Amorphic Spikes and Quad Continuum, I can't find this info anywhere
the wat
When working out Spell dmg there's a formula, ie Disservements base dmg is 69.
Physical damage calculation is the same with PC WS damage calculation: Final D value floor(D+fSTR+WSC) * Multiplier D is calculated as floor(Blue Magic Skill*0.11)*2 + 3. There's upper cap for each spell WSC Related to Stats. Similar to Weapon Skill's WSC, there is a level correction factor α fSTR Modified by Your STR - Opponent VIT. (pasted from bgwiki) I still have no idea what you're asking, spells don't have their own static base damage
They have a DMG cap tho still yes? or has this been re thought?
No spells post-lv60 or so have a reachable/discernible D cap. All D caps are listed in the Physical Spells spoiler in section III
Many thanks, I took a long break from the game, was still working with old impression of blue magic formula's.
The 69 you're thinking of is probably from 75 cap era, when Disseverment's most efficient base damage was 69. from skill only.
How does Abatteur Subligar rank for BLU TP\CDC?
Got a pair today. Currently TPing in Thaumas and CDC in Athos. Thinking I'll use these for both maybe? Atleast TP, since I'm overcapped on haste anyways. It's generally a little worse than Thaumas for TP and varies against Athos for WS, but inventory+1 is a wonderful thing. If I'd ever bothered to do Meebles I definitely would have grabbed a pair for BLU.

I plan to use for CDC. Currently CDCing in Thaumas because I never got the Athos (P.S. f__k voidwatch, seriously).
If inventory is a big concern for you Nightfyre, you could bother with Meebles at least for the Cheruski Needle. Allows you to throw away 2 sachets (if you were using them). Been away for 40 days and couldn't sleep, so went over this awesome thread and checked out my sets again. Hoping to get Abatteur Subligar for my blu soon-ish but till then Kvazz made me wonder. Thaumas Kecks vs Athos's Tights for CdC. I'm using the set posted on page bar of course Kehpri Kecks. Guessing on easy stuff Athos's Tights will pull ahead but how do you guys (maybe more importantly your spreadsheets) feel about Thaumas Kecks (2 piece set bonus) in that set?
And gratz on that subligar, Kvazz! Edit: Did I mention sleepy? Peldin basically just said the same thing above... Out of those 3 I'd have picked Thaumas anyway - it's the comparison to Athos's Tights (+5dex, 4% crit hit dmg) that I didn't wanna eyeball and was hoping to get the math people to weigh in. =)

If this is my current TP set would I be correct in assuming Nemetona cap would do more for me during TP phase? What's the consensus on Fea's Cuffs vs Khepri Wristbands?
