Which is better for physical spells, Aias Bonnet or Mirage Keffiyeh +2? The other options listed in this guide are more or less unattainable for me.
Likely +2 head, but not by much. Ideally, of course, get both, but if one only, I'd go for Mirage +2.

Aias Bonnet for STR/DEX spells.
Mirage Keffiyeh +2 for STR spells, STR/VIT spells, and spells that benefit more from pure blue magic skill (like Occultation, Diamondhide, Metallic Body, etc) Inventory not a problem? Get both. Inventory a problem? Mirage Keffiyeh +2 I have both b/c I use Aias for another job, otherwise I'd probably toss it and save the inventory. Prothescar just lists a basic physical spells set because there are inventory issues if you are trying to make gear for every single spell. Example - Benthic Typhoon, which has an agility modifier and is a very common spell to use. For me personally, I prioritize gear in this order: TP CDC STR/VIT spells Heavy Strike (pretty much pure STR but with accuracy) Idle (refresh/regen) Fast Cast Requiescat Magic Fruit Even in the sets listed, a lot of the gear is shared. Like my STR, STR/VIT, and STR/DEX sets are almost identical. Heavy Strike set is very similar to those. Requiescat and Magic Fruit sets share a lot of gear. The sets I didn't mention (CW, INT, Blue Magic Skill, and some specific spells) have some unique items to them that I've just picked up here and there, but I try to keep my BLU at 75/80 on inventory so I can have open spots for food, warp scroll, linkpearl, and a couple slots open to lot stuff. Of course I should probably build better MDT and PDT sets, but I just haven't bothered to. Those sets require a lot of items that are unique to their respective set and I haven't bothered to make the bag space for them. Offline

Wurru Boots look nice. how does it fare against Thaumus Nails for tp though?

Can't really compare haste boots verse non-haste boots unless you can talk about what other gear you're swapping around.
I have 2 quick questions about my CDC set. Swap in Kacura Mittens +1 and Kacura Leggings +1 or stay with Thaumas hands/feet and swap in Thaumas Kecks? And if I swap in Thaumas Kecks, should I break the set bonus with Oce Head to use Thaumas Hat as well? Offline

forgot to mention I was asking with proth's ideal set on front page in mind, but open to any setups that can use them and how much better or worse it'd be than the ideal setup
Thaumas still better for TP just looking at the ones in question, tired at the moment and don't wanna look to far into it, but should be accurate enough.
Kacura +1 hands/thaumas legs/thaumas feet, never break toci/oce+1 set. How does Aswang Sash compare now that Blu has MAB belt? I'm guessing situational and the INT/MND from other belts would out way +3 MAB.
Really don't see it being worth the inventory space ever, as not only just mulling it over in my head quickly does penitent's win anyway, but penitent has multiple purposes on top of that. Even if the 3MAB did win, it'd be such a small bonus... so I wouldn't advise it in either case.

Requiescat
I don't have a Neptune's. So would you suggest Brutal Earring or Ghillie Earring +1? I assume Brutal but with the attack penalty on Req I didn't know if Ghillie would be more valuable for nyzul. I have Almace so we're only talking about pretty much PDT monsters only since I usually CDC everything else. Im pretty sure i already know the answer to this, but i figure i should ask before i toss this crap i put work in to make. I carry around a ToM magic accuracy sword & a 2nd evasion sword. I made these before I had my almace and even back then i made very little use of them. Are there any uses to either of them or can i make some more inventory space?
A 2nd evasion sword, doubt it.
One can situationally be handy, but if you can almace mainhand, I don't think you'll ever really wanna use two eva swords at the same time. Macc sword is more or less completely useless, only time I'd ever use that if you're in a fight ONLY for blu-stuns like head butt\sudden lunge. And that wont ever really happen >_> yeah i figure even for pulls/cleaving id be better off using 1 evasion sword + genbu's. Thanks, inven +2 most likely

I'd agree too. I can't imagine a second evasion sword being useful really. I'm still working on my own Almace, but I'm sure that Almace + Evasion would be better than 2x Evasion (probably don't even need 1 Evasion sword for most things, though it's always handy to have it just in case).
As for the Magic Accuracy sword, I think the OP makes it fairly clear what Proth thinks of that one: Quote: Magic Accuracy Shikargar This thing is worthless. I understand that a lot of people just make it for an easy 61D weapon, but still. The time you spent making it could have gone toward a more useful weapon. Do not use these. Offline

Bit late but i'd imagine the 2nd eva sword would be useful on things you would be kiting because and keep up disserverment and other debuffs on. The extra evasion (depending how much is needed) would allow you to free up other slots for regen/refresh/movement speed.
Granted kiting died out a long time ago but that's a use i could think of in fights where you aren't in a tp friendly situation and it's solo; maybe it'll come back in the new expansion who knows. Spurrina Coif is better for Requeiscat or no?
You'd have to be capped on fSTR and atk for that to be the case, so in short, no.

I had the pleasure of doing the Instructor expeditions in Meeble Burrows tonight. Expedition 4 was filled with slimes. What can I use besides Req to increase my damage on mobs like this? I'd like to know for Nyzul too for Mouse, Ebony Pudding, and Cardamom Custard. I realize magic spells may be more appropriate for the expedition where I don't have embrava, but would they be worth casting (or even setting) for nyzul? Cast times seem to be soooo long.
Wind Breath I guess, but that isn't very impressive unless you've got more than one at once.

pretty hard to beat requiescat especially for nni for magic damage.
also have to substitute some of your current gear for breath builds and whatnot and assuming good hp levels for efficient damage there's thermal pulse, whisker, bomb for nukes. Sylph.Peldin

I'll just stick to Req and weak melee hits. Guess I'm just a lil jealous of Twilight Scythe lol. Thanks for the help
Shame about that Heimdall's Doom not mirroring it
How so? It's proc'd a few times for me in meebles on various kill alls.
Ignoring physical resistance I mean, not death procs
Ah lol. Also I haven't looked into the update OP sets much, but there really isn't a reason to use Ocelott gloves in hybrid eva set with Thaumas gloves out now. I liked the look with the legs but unfortunately they aren't really worth inventory space.

I picked up Cheruski Needle last week. Was able to throw out Flame Sachet and Thunder Sachet (gogo inventory). Should I use it in place of Mavi Tathlum for any physical spells?

If Mavi tathlum doesn't put you at the next damage tier, i think Cheruski would win simply by the fSTR.

Sorry as I am sure this has been explained somewhere, but I have been wondering for awhile what the actual tiers are at for blue magic physical spells. Can't seem to stumble upon it anywhere. |
