Coruscanti Testing
It is known that their defense doubles during Scissor Guard, which would be one way to check if it was just auto-capping or if it is using the pDIF equations directly at all.
If I had someone to push the level of the crabs up, I'd do it.
By the way, a gigantic thanks to Crimy of Bismarck for standing around with me for hours, killing Bluffalo to keep them EM-T and killing anything that aggroed me that wasn't EM, and for keeping me alive when I switched to non-immortal atmas.
Sylow, I will be more than happy to help you with whatever this weekend if I am online. Just give me a shout. With Nevill and Tinymage, we should be able to do whatever.
Thanks. I wish this dagger weren't so rare- it would be easier to test things if multiple people could test it at once.

i assume youre in game now? how much longer til watersday? (idr where to find the vanaclock or w/e)
edit: ok that was a lie, im just busy applying for jobs and cba to look atm. uh, just started 30 seconds ago
Bismarck.Sylow said: » Observations so far: 1.) Have not seen it proc as first hit of an attack round yet. 2.) On a TA, if #2 procs, so does #3 3.) #3 can proc on its own. Btw this is just how thf af3 setbonus works if i remember right, observed this back when i was playing thf 24/7, just that it can also proc on the 1st hit but once it procs in a triple attack round it will proc on all following hits. But its been a long time since i played thf so i might be mistaken. Damage anomalies vs. crabs are ranging from 104-149 so far.
I've seen 107 and 132 during scissor guard. At 545 attack, they check low evasion, and are DC.
Seems like the maximum I'm seeing from a normal attack outside of Scissor Guard is 91. Bismarck.Sylow said: » ....that test took place on Thundersday, and I *** hate all of you because now I have to rule out that it didn't have any effect. Next you guys are going to ask me what direction I was facing :(
I hope it was south for an HQ proc. May inflict severe stress :(
Coruscanti
Additional Effect: Crabs don't use Scissor Guard. 545 Attack vs. DC Slashers
32% Triple Attack, variously had saber dance up (at this point we've determined that multi-attack seems to work whether it comes from TA, DA, or Saber Dance, so it's not an issue for testing) Picture: I think only auto-capping attack can explain those values? THANK YOU to Bismarck.Markas for helping me get that, even though Crabs don't seem to like protecting themselves.
Ooops, OK. I see it now. replied PM too fast lol.
EDIT: If those range(100~153) is a legit range when pDIF is capped, then yes. I guess we can conclude ODSD = capped pDIF. Otherwise, the conclusion could also be as simple as "it rolls to certain pDIF value whose range is 2.xx to 2.yy) I was hitting for a minimum of 12 during Scissor Guard.
pDIF is where my FFXI math skills break down severely. What is the maximum cRatio where I could have a minimum of 12? What is the minimum attack boost that would allow hits of 107, 132,131,126,143 and crits of 172,190,188? I could be asking the wrong questions!
I JUST DONT KNOW ANYMORE.
Just go to bed. Motenten signal activate!
Couldn't be an attack boost.
It's simply : when procs, it rolls into "THAT" range regardless of your atk/def ratio. Anyway, we've gained a lot since yesterday. At least qualitatively we gained a lot. We know what actually triggers it. More or less know what is happening when it triggers, and quantitatively done with the approximation of the proc rate. Good work, Sylow (and helpers). The comment about THF AF3+2 set procs really makes me wonder if they may have given it the wrong properties, or something.
I'm betting the knife was designed for thiefs sylow which is why the proc rate is so nice with triple attack. It was probably made to minimally befit us dancers, cause you know how SE loves to troll us with useless ***.
Sounds like it was sort of doing what I was kind of expecting from yesterday's data: doubling attack (the stat) when you Double Attack. Cheesy pun...
Also, minor note: You can try confirming the proc positioning by looking at the Extra Attacks tab and checking the Details option. I'll have to look at the new test data more closely to revise the actual math. Will have time for that later. |
