Extremely simple ranged with a smn, almost idiotproof. But damn near literally impossible with a melee party. But super easy sam solodd. Literally impossible higher than VE with trusts I think. Very tough to say how easy it will be for you. Offline

Does anyone know if Arch-Ultima’s Citadel Siege move can be negated by Migawari? There’s limited to no info on either wiki.
Edit; I saw citadel and autopiloted Citadel Buster

There’s limited to no info on either wiki. The simplest solution is to run away when he starts charging Siege. Just don't run farther than 10' or so, or he'll draw you in and nail you. The range on Seige is short. Maybe melee range or a tiny bit more. So you don't have to move far. Offline

Oh, btw, on a related note. If you're aiming for a specific drop, there is a potpourri category for Arch-Ultima and Arch-Omega drops. https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/Emporox
I have a question about Enf duration for RDM
Let's say you want to maximize enfeebling duration and have Saboteur up. What would provide the longest duration? 4/5 empy + Regal Gloves? or 5/5 Empy? Similar question but with Vitiation Chapeau +3. Supposing 5/5 Enfeebling duration merits. What would provide the longest duration? 4/5 + Vitiation? Or 5/5 Empy? I'm no RDM expert but just going on what's in BGWiki it looks like Composure duration is a separate multiplier from enfeebling duration, so it should be:
4pc = +35% Composure 5pc = +50% Composure Regal = +20% enfeebling Snotra = +10% enfeebling +2 neck = +25% enfeebling O.Sash = +5% enfeebling Saboteur = +25% enfeebling on NMs So 5/5 Empy = 1.5 * 1.85 = 2.775 Regal = 1.35 * 2.05 = 2.7675 If that's correct, then Empy wins by a smidge. I'm assuming Saboteur figures into the normal enfeebling duration, and not a separate multiplier of its own. If that's incorrect, then it'll reverse and Regal will win by a smidge. Chapeau is harder because it's a flat modifier to the base duration, not a simple multiplier. I'll leave that question for a RDM expert. The hat would add 15 more seconds to the base but remove the 1.15% multiplier from 5/5.
So let's take three typical durations as examples: 120, 180 and 300 seconds durations ((120+30) * 1.5) * 1.85 = 416.25 ((120+30+15)*1.35)*1.85 = 412.08 ((120+30+15)*1.20)*2.05 = 405.9 ((180+30) * 1.5) * 1.85 = 582.75 ((180+30+15)*1.35)*1.85 = 561.9 ((180+30+15)*1.20)*2.05 = 553.5 ((300+30) * 1.5) * 1.85 = 957.37 ((300+30+15)*1.35)*1.85 = 861.63 ((300+30+15)*1.20)*2.05 = 848.7 Supposing we didn't miss anything I guess 5/5 Empy always wins no matter what, even if in some circumstances the difference can be pretty small, but still a win is a win. All of this supposing my theory of staitc duration from Merits and Chapeau augs being added BEFORE the multiplication, would be even worse if it's added after of course. Also the Neck is an "aug" duration, I seem to recall that aug duration bonus and non-aug duration bonuses are applied in separate steps (multiplicative and not addittive), pretty sure that goes for Enha duration, probably for Enf too? Of the gear we listed everything is a "normal" stat except the neck, which is an aug. So probably we should multiply for 1.25 in a separate step uhm... But regardless of that I don't think it would change the results I just got. Asura.Sechs said: » All of this supposing my theory of staitc duration from Merits and Chapeau augs being added BEFORE the multiplication (Base Duration + (6s × RDM Group 2 Merit Point Level) + (3s × RDM Relic Hands Group 2 Merit Point Level Augment) + RDM Job Points + Gear that list Seconds) × (Augments Composure Bonus) × (Duration listed on Gear + Naturalist's Roll) × (Gear Augments) × (Rune Fencer Gifts) = Duration Edit: Ok that's actually the enhancing duration formula, but I'm guessing it'll work the same. I just noticed I have 50,000 Escha Beads and have been capped for who-knows-how-long. Which are some of the more useful Aeonic Weapons? I'd like to make a better-educated decision on which one to buy while I work towards making them available.
Another question I suppose would be: Can you have multiple Malformed Weapons going at once? I'm guessing no, but I don't see anything on BG-W that says I can't. You cannot hold multiple, the same NPC who sells them also "manages" the progress so once you're holding one the only options they'll give is checking/updating progress (you have to check in everytime you complete an entire zone before the next one will activate), or abandoning your progress entirely. Useful ones will vary on your jobs. Everyone can technically find some use for anything so not looking to get into a heated argument, but generally this is what I feel the largest audience would find useful, in no particular order: Horn, GAxe, Gun, Polearm, Katana, Great Katana, Dagger, H2H. As always situations vary and depending on what you're doing you may get more/equal mileage out of different REM option. I don't play PLD super seriously so it's possible Shield still has a relevant place but I assume Aegis+Duban cover most situations. Other weapons I just don't feel fit a useful enough niche. Bismarck.Demetor said: » I don't play PLD super seriously so it's possible Shield still has a relevant place but I assume Aegis+Duban cover most options. Other weapons I just don't feel fit a useful enough niche. It's my understanding that it still has niche use (when you cant block? or mass pulling), but Duban is far more useful for physical tanking. I believe it's also best for Protect macro until your Duban is stage 4+ Bismarck.Demetor said: » Everyone can technically find some use for anything so not looking to get into a heated argument FIGHT ME. Just kidding, its all opinion anyway just always fun to see how people rank things Asura.Dexprozius said: » but I tried to be pretty objective. Like, the most "main" job I have so far is Blue Mage, for which I already have a Naegling. But I also like a ton of other jobs, and I'm looking for excuses to branch out further. Like, I would seriously consider the gun because Corsair is high on my list, and I've even been gaining a lot of steam on Ninja lately. I'd even consider the Marsyas, but I'm intimidated by what I've heard that a Bard practically needs every instrument to be even remotely competitive. Bismarck.Demetor said: » I don't play PLD super seriously so it's possible Shield still has a relevant place but I assume Aegis+Duban cover most situations. Keep in mind I still have the shitty base level Duban because I quit doing Sortie last Feb when my group split, but I still use Srivatsa a fair bit despite the lower block rate. For segfarms where it's more difficult to efficiently line up mobs for a block rate (basically any mid-high pace group) or where you are largely a glorified puller except during Agons, the 5% annuls damage and HP on it is nice. It also has enmity, along with accuracy and attack if you are meleeing in there (sometimes I do, sometimes I don't, depends on the group and how things are going). I still use it for those despite having all of the others. Reprisal can also be used to increase your block rate, which I usually do for Agons and NMs unless timing permits me to keep it up, again depending on the groups pace. Keep in mind too that a higher def shield will give more defense via Protect when cast by the PLD, I know 10 isn't a ton but it's something (unless you have a phase 4 or 5 Duban). The finished Duban seems ideal for mobs like Kalunga or possibly Marmorkrebs where you have a good mix of physical damage and magic damage, or so I'd expect. The status ailment resistance is helpful to (maybe?) reduce how often you are spamming Panaceas during that rotation, but I haven't actually looked or experimented to see if it works that well or not in those fights. Even in base form w/o the MDT, it has some niche use cases in those fights, it gets really interesting when you consider the block rate and MDT though IMO. It's not game changing, but IMO it's worth having if you are a PLD even if you have the others. The only one I flat out don't use is Ochain. RIP. Wish I could hang it on my wall or something. I'd still say Marsyas is the only "Must have", Linos +3, Blurred Harp +1/Terpander is fine for the majority of content, where you have both a BRD and a COR/GEO. Ghorn can be skipped imho, especially if you have a +3 songs Linos. You could pretend to have Ghorn and 99,9999% of people wouldn't even notice you don't. On the other hand noticing you don't have a 4th song is, alas, quite easy. Loughnashade is also very cool to make easy content even easier lol, but I wouldn't say it's mandatory or game changing as Marsyas is. Good luck playing BRD in nowadays' content if you don't have Marsyas... F Sword Axe Club I'd put Dagger up to B and Gaxe down to B. Katana is among the best weapons for NIN and allows NIN to exploit hybrids even better. It's true NIN is in a bad meta position atm, but if we are to judge weapons only by its intrinsic value and nothing else, then imho Katana goes to A. Shield down a tier imo. It has its uses but it's mostly a Majesty Protect macro shield, doesn't belong in B tier imho. Gsword is... uhm. If we were to rewind up time a few years I would put it on A! But these days? Ehhh... I'd say it's ok to be on C. All I said resulting in: Offline
Good luck playing Brd without Marsyas, Gjallarhorn and Daurdabla, imo.
Odds are someone's alt will have these if you do not. Thank you all for the excellent feedback to my question.
Got some ideas brewing~ Dodik said: » Good luck playing Brd without Marsyas, Gjallarhorn and Daurdabla, imo. It's completely true a LOT of BRD mules have all 3, but that's another issue entirely imho. |
