Random Question thread (FFXI related)
You know why
All the standard answers apply I'd buy it for my Liberator DRK if it was about 5% the price.

Actually I got curious and decided to do some (jank ***, probably wrong) "math" and I guess with QA proccing before TA proccing before DA.... after accoubting for QA and TA procs, 1% QA is better than 3% DA considering how much access we have to TA. 1% QA will never be diminished (outside of OaT) because QA always procs first.
I imagine it's still SUPER marginal, and still only better than like Telos/etc+Sherida/Cessance/etc if you're acc capped. I'd never pay a relic for it. Ever. The NQ is even worse. Offline

hello, can someone explain me vorseals ?
for example, i have Acc/R.Acc/Eva+ at 2/2 how can i upgrade it to 11/11 ? Anyone know why sometimes carbuncles protect/shell BP doesn't work? Says no effect
I think you have a more potent protect/shell, so you cant overwrite it.
DM prices on Asura were always that high?
On my server the DM price is rising but im not sure if Asura always sold DM for 2.5M. Here, I was used to DM barely hitting 1M, now its 1.5M and almost nothing on stock. Im aware how many uses it has that justify very high demand, but im not aware any change on demand in the last months to justify this untimely increase. Siren.Kyte

Starting my first Mythic and can't seem to find any info relating to farming Nyzul Floor 100 for weapons. I noticed on some older forum posts some say if the runic disc holder doesn't warp before the floor 100 boss is defeated they start over at floor 1.
However, I have a character that just beat floor 100 and still has floor 96 available on reenter. Before I enter again and mess up my ability to farm floor 100 will I have to start over at floor 1 after beating the boss or not? Seeing conflicting things. tyalangan said: » Starting my first Mythic and can't seem to find any info relating to farming Nyzul Floor 100 for weapons. If you've beaten f100 and gotten the runic disc, you never lose the ability to warp to 96 under any conditions. If you're farming for tokens, after going up from floor 100 it rolls over back to floor 1. Apparently it does not stack with Wind Blessing from Siren. Anyone ever have this issue:
I installed a new Xbox controller- after that- When I Alt-Tab between chars-It will either "Sit", or "Lock on to" the closest NPC. Really bugging me. tyalangan said: » Starting my first Mythic and can't seem to find any info relating to farming Nyzul Floor 100 for weapons. About weapon, every NM in the floors can drop a random base weapon, but you can force one specific type of base weapon by having one char with said job you want the weapon choosing starting floor at entrance, and if you can beat floor 100 boss, it will drop 2 base weapon, being one of them the one the job who jumped everyone can use (thats if a BLU choose to start at floor 96 and you clear floor100 boss, the boss will drop the Wightslayer, Tizona base weapon). All of this from old Nyzul. Dont work on NNI. Offline

So I'm shopping for a laptop that will run the game good.
Any suggestions? huttburt<3 said: » So I'm shopping for a laptop that will run the game good. Any suggestions? AFAIK you gonna need dgvoodoo on any modern laptop. Basically Windows: ssd, 256gb+, 8gb+ ram, 15.6" screen (fullsized keyboard).
XI: basically anything but just standalone igpu of intel HD, and even hybrid intel HD+dedicated and you'll need to use a dx wrapper otherwise windows will force those ancient calls to the igpu, which handles XI poorly. I blame SE/Intel. I got this 2 years ago:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y4GZS9C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 Just what I use, I can run 3 instances of XI and 1 of XIV with 0 lag, I keep it on 24/7. Was cheap (imo.) seems they came out with a 32GB RAM option. I use dgvoodoo on it too. Yes when the screen went idle it would kick me off the game and I also dl it for graphical upgrades. Strangely I had issues with XIV/XI freezing each other on my PC, but not with this laptop. Although that hasn't happened recently as of 6 months, not sure why.

Is there any new laptops that would run ok without having to do the dvoodoo stuff?
I appreciate the responses. tl;dr: no
edit: maybe and I mean maybe something with an amd apu, but literally have no clue how well it would work. The one I posted runs fine without dgvoodoo, just install and go. The only issue is that if you have UAC pop up or if you have your screen go idle to rest and then come back it will crash FFXI. It takes like minutes to get dg running, so not sure why you wouldnt
It's also acer garbage, and I doubt it "runs fine." Going idle should never crash your game, unless you're having power saving turn off your screen or nic.
Yet you didn't recommend anything to him, of course you critique anything people buy lol. You said the same about my last PC I posted. It isn't garbage, far from it and I explained why in my previous post. He wants it for XI.
Going idle, as in the power saving turns off the screen, duh. Anytime you leave advice on PC related things, you get the nerd that comes in pushing up his glasses "AKCTUALLY, that is inferior hardware." Yet he posts a generic statement, without recommending companies to buy from (since most dont build laptops.) Although he is free to critique anyone that posts suggestions. huttburt<3 said: » Is there any new laptops that would run ok without having to do the dvoodoo stuff? I appreciate the responses. I think HP Omen models eschew switchable graphics for G-Sync support, so those or similarly-prioritized models might be something to look at. Like Draylo mentioned though, XI will still have issues with the monitor going to sleep or something, which is something dgVoodoo also fixes. |
