DNC: Grants infinite Finishing Moves, recast on Flourish is set to 0

Depending how this is implemented . . . well, I don't want to get too hopeful. This could be Meikyo Shisui and Mighty Strikes wrapped into one. Rudra's Storm, Climactic Flourish, and Reverse Flourish. If we can just keep Climactic up and spam Reverse -> Rudra's, this will be somewhat broken.

I wonder what the translation will be!

With proper attack buffs, infinite FMs, and Climactic, I could seriously wreck stuff in a minute with Rudra's spam even solo. Haste buffs would hardly help us, and I'd really consider locking myself into a WS set to avoid wasting Climactic hits and having to re-use the JA or potentially Reversing in a set without AF3+2 hands.

Keep in mind that none of the Flourishes III can be stacked.

Climactic -> Evisceration -> Reverse -> Rudra's -> Reverse -> Rudra's -> Repeat

CF Rudra's with good attack is >2000 damage on all the Voidwatch monsters I've tried it on. My Eviscerations are generally closer to 12-1500ish. Including no resists:
1500+2000+2660+2000+3990 = 12150 damage every ~10 seconds against Voidwatch monsters. It's not going to be practical, but I'll enjoy making some noobs ***brix when an lolDNC kills their Voidwatch monster before they can proc it.

I think dnc, smn and maybe drk? Got the best ones here, everything is too situational or justforfun, unless these are up for adjustments or re-do's.

With a revit handy though, dnc could be a monster with that set up :o

I kinda doubt that the DNC one is going to be as good as it sounds. Apparently they're going to throw them onto the Test Server soonish.

Some of the 2-hours are really really useful in specific situations (like WAR and WHM) and some aren't *fantastic* but they're still better than the old 2-hours because the old ones were so bad.

Khepri Jacket is officially +4-5% WS Damage, but the value of that for DNC depends on whether or not it's first-hit only.

It's obviously the best for Rudra's Storm, though.

It's better than Athos's Tabard for Climactic'd Rudra's by 15 STR and less than 1% first hit damage. Better, to be sure, but it's not worth the ridiculous amount of effort you'd need to expend to potentially see one synthed.

Thats all fine and dandy...but i swear to you the first thing im gonna do is VF spam the hell out of something...

Why?.....because i *** can lol...

I did have to laugh though since once again they are playing towards our DD potential and not our support role. Yeah sure we already have trance, but i still would like to see something more on that side of things in the future.

Oh yeah, it turns out that it doesn't set our recast to 0. It resets our recast (probably like how Spirit Surge resets jumps). So our new 2-hour is pretty useless.

maybe the whole DNC community should log onto the test server when its released and complain about the need for the 2hr to make recasts for Finishing Moves to 0!

Disappointing.

They could have been a lot more creative with a new 2hr and made it cause party members in close range around us to break into a synchronized jig and get 300TP+haste+heal/status removal or something. I was hoping for something more flashy and support dancer-ish.

Capped Magic Haste Situations

If you have Embrava + Haste + Haste Samba, then you no longer need to hit 25-26% haste on your gear to cap haste, and it's actually detrimental to use dual-wield enhancing equipment due to the delay reduction cap.

Capped Magic Haste is 43.75%
Haste samba with max merits is ~10%.
Dual Wield IV is 30%.

So, with capped magic haste we get

(1-0.4375-0.1-x)(0.7)<=0.2
(0.4625-x)(0.7)<=0.2
0.4625-x <= 0.28574
-x <= -0.1767
x >= 17.67

So we need 17.67% haste in gear to cap. That in mind, I'm listing this as our best delay-capped TP set assuming Saber Dance is up:

Excluding the existence of HQ Khepri Bonnet augment.

This of course holds up the question of why SCH and DNC are at the same event in the first place, but that's for another discussion entirely.

0/5 - 13/256 Haste or 12/256 Haste
Each merit probably adds either 2/256 Haste or 3/256 Haste

So 5/5 Haste Samba is probably either:
* 28/256 - 11% -
* 27/256 - 10.5%
* 23/256 - 9%
* 22/256 - 8.6%

The 5% and 10% numbers we use came from FRAPs, which isn't really accurate down to 1/256 and I don't remember where the 5/5 merit test came from but my impression was that it was a little shorter than the initial 5% test.

The best way to test this would be to use the D0 method against Hpemdes with 0% DA/TA/Haste and do three cases:
1) No Haste Samba - Record how many swings you take in an hour
2) Haste Samba with no merits - record how many swings you take in an hour
3) Haste Samba with 5/5 merits - record how many swings you take in an hour

200 delay = ~3.33 seconds per swing
3600 seconds per hour = 1080 swings without delay reduction (approximately, this is what we'd confirm in case 1)
With that many swings, we should be able to discern a 0.5% change in melee delay.

Edit: Also, the above set can be adjusted for Accuracy if necessary, which it might be if we're using Embrava.

Nomk. hands + Thaumas Kecks (which might be better anyway)
then swap it to Brego + Thaumas if you need more Acc?

Mantis Eye is another easy 10, offhand to Acc dagger if necessary.

Anguinus Belt and Rager's Ledelsens or AF2+2 augmented feet for the final tier, I suppose.

They explained the "logic" behind DNC not being on Mandau again.

How can they even propose that as an explanation? This is almost as bad as that time they explained why they can't uncap merit categories. Same rep. Is he the angry JP hand of god, who cares not for the logical trappings of mortality?

Hey Sylow can I ask you what -pdt (and maybe -mdt?) set you are using as dancer? Maybe a perfect set and then a set with not-so-hard-to-get items since I'm a returning player :( Did't read all the pages so if you already wrote it somewhere I'm sorry.

Under the Pros/Cons section of the OP, under Terpsichore, this line intrigues me:
"Requires single-wielding to optimize, and this a completely different gearing paradigm."

Byrth have you ever tried this? Its Sylow's words, but i'm curious what kind of gearset and situation would ever make this work. I find the weapon fascinating so im curious about all the possible ways you can gear around it.

I'm assuming one would always sub /war for the fencer trait for its crit% and TP bonus *wondering if fencer affects aftermath or not*
If you have to ride aftermath all the time to keep things optimal, im wondering how that works with a single wield build, or if its offset by getting an extra finishing move with a step+reverse flourishing using terpsichore.
