"Low sample size"
lol :p

I still find Evis and Exen are tough choices, damage-wise.
... probably getting 50% crit is easier than 50% DA.

There should really be no contest outside Abyssea assuming your Exenterator set is half decent.

2 hours of Dynamis Qufim... My 1st and probably last (for a while) Dynamis since they revamped it.
In those 2 hours, I still can't tell whether BF->Evis better or BF->Exen better.

I should re-get that stuff again, since I got more points to make as of recent.
But as far as I can recall, both WS were able to spike up to 2.4k on the bats.

Anyway, evisceration gets some nice spikes, but the math is heavily in favor of Exenterator for sets of equivalent caliber.

I think it was like this back then for Exen:
Lux/Agi Kila+3/-/Charis Feather
Ocelo/Houyi/Aesir/Brutal
Loki/Athos/Stormsoul/Epona
Atheling/Anguinus/Tumbler/Lithe

and Evis:
Lux/Agi Kila+3/-/Charis Feather
Aias/Rancor/Aesir/Brutal
Loki/Athos/Rajas/Epona
Atheling/Cuchulain's/Athos's/Kacura +1

I'm not sure whether it was Charis Featheror Aliyat Chakram I equiped back then.

Hi all,

Really enjoy all the information posted, it's a great read! I'm still a pretty new DNC, but I'm trying my hardest to learn!

I just have a question that's not really even DNC specific at all. :S I'm not really sure where else to ask, so I will ask here. Is there some sort of plug-in for windower or program that will sound an alarm when a certain weather appears, or when a certain day begins? Would be handy for trials and such. ^^;

Many thanks.

^This is a great site, this one is also pretty good for planning availability for doing trials and such.

Also, as for the weather plugin, AutoExec can cover it nicely (here's a copy of mine, which covers Day Changes/Weather Changes, will just need a bit of tweaking [change input /echo to input /t <me> or input /p <call>] and it should alert you nicely).

what are you guys thinking for best tp sets at 99 cap with the new content, any big changes?
Maybe in high buff situations or with Saber Dance down. Charis+2/Thaumas/Nomkahpa/Goading/Etoile+2/Charis+2 and Charis+2/Thaumas/Nomkahpa/Twilight/Thaumas/Thaumas are the two Marches + Saber Dance configurations that come to mind. The exchange comes out to 13 STP vs 3 STR 1 DEX 8 acc 28 attack and whatever benefits the set bonus offers. The latter build also offers at least 18 AGI, more with set bonus. Too tired to check which is better. I'd have to think more about Saber down and unbuffed/Saber up sets. Thaumas Coat is sexy (stats-wise at least), but 10% DW is hard to pass up. Thaumas Kecks definitely have a place in any Saber Dance down build though.

Haven't looked at any builds involving +2/+3 gear but I'm skeptical of their value in most high-end builds. Legs come into play again, but only if Saber Dance is down.

I honestly haven't started worrying too much about Thaumus stuff. I don't think it'll be reasonable to obtain until they add the "force a drop you want" update.

That's basically how I feel about it too.

Euxine +2 :: Legs for Saber Dance Down (maybe) and Legs/Feet for Exenterator (I think).

Thaumas :: Probably Legs/Feet/Head/Hands for almost every WS, and legs for Saber Dance down.

I'm less excited about the Legs for a TP set than I could be because Saber Dance is always up unless I'm in deep ***, in which case I would probably rather have the 15 evasion from AF3+2 legs than the offensive advantages of Thaumas legs. If they ever restore a supporting role DNC to the game, though, I would definitely gun for the highest level Euxine/Thaumas Legs I could get.

Pretty much. I've no intentions of even updating my BLU sets for it until that point tbh.

May want to look into SpoonyBard.

You can do this with a combination of Auto Exec and ChatMon. In autoexec.xml(found in Auto Exec folder in plugins folder), setup an event like this:
*Note that you need to do this for every type of weather if you want it to sound.

Code
<register event="weather_Thunder_x2 " silent="true">input /echo Weather Change</register>

Now, in chatmon.xml(found in plugin folders, where the .dll should be), setup an event like this:

Code
<trigger from="All" match="*Weather Change*" sound="C:/WeatherAlarm.wav" />

Now whenever the message appears in your log, it'll alert you by playing the sound specified. You can use any file you want for the weather alarm, but it has to be in .wav format or it won't work(I think). A while back I found this text to speech demo by AT&T (http://www2.research.att.com/~ttsweb/tts/demo.php), you can either play the clip or save it as a .wav by default so it'd work right away.

Complete crap is rather harsh.
My main problem with Rudra's storm is its awesomeness is relied on forced crit JA: 60s for THF, 90s for DNC.
With 20% extra crit boost from Charis Tiara +2, it will draw the number closer to Hi/CDC/VS (still lacking though).

I would like to correct him (even though it's probably simple oversight), but I'm afraid I cannot. I have "Grammar-elititis," which leaves me incapable of responding to people who don't know the difference between "you're" and "your."

It's "elititis" in the least logical sense, because I require the most commonly agreed upon rules be followed. Alas, it is my curse.

Plus, it's Saevel. He'd contradict my correction instead of admitting he made a simple mistake and then somehow get distracted and start talking about RDM melee. Waste of time.

I just did a 72 minute SSR Salvage run (duo with my RDM/WHM mule) using nothing but Rudra's Storm and offhanding a TP Bonus dagger. 3.95k with Climactic was my top (against a Rampart, closed Darkness) and Rudra's was hitting for 1.7-2.3k against the boss. I hit a solid 3.4k unstacked against the turtle the other day (double TA, I assume), and was breaking 2k on non-DA/TAs today. I don't know why, but my Rudra's Storm has picked up a lot of ground against Evisc since the last patch.

This has to far and away, be one of the best overall discussions and public forums for any single job in the history of the game. Props to all of you for contributing, and to Sylow for all of the work and typing that went into the original thread. It is very nice to see so many people working together to master a specific aspect of the game.

Yeah it is freaking amazing for healing waltz and divine waltz if I have to wake people up, and like your sets suggest I use it on 2 and 3 as well so I can pump those out faster. The 5% lost from the head really is no where near as noticeable as I thought it would be.

In the last few weeks I have made some pretty major steps in making my dancer a lot better thanks to this thread. I picked up Suppanomimi finally and got Epona's so that is a big help. I never would have bothered making a fire dagger but I almost have that done (geooooooooooooooodes ><) which has helped a TON with damage outputs.

Now, if only I could get luck on some damn Logwatch I could make things that much better :D

This may be entirely obvious, and it really should have been, but Exenterator's Accuracy Down is Earth Based and won't land (or at least will rarely land) on enemies who are strongly resistant to Earth Based effects.

Like Koios.

Learned this soloing Koios on COR/DNC out of pure stubbornness.

I've been reading this thread and a few others, but have been patiently waiting for more recommendations/gear sets and explanations for them to arrive on the main guide portion of the thread. Aside from finishing my 20,000 EXP trial, thanks to you my tp sets are complete. Daggers are in the process of being created, etc. However, I am looking for best combination/situational (reasoning behind it as well) for ws sets. I've checked the specific ws threads, but there's no clear cut answer and a lot of the good information is hidden or hard to find.

Looking for Evis, Exten, Rudra's, DE, PK (optimal sets for when/if they should be used i.e. fodder mobs, dynamis, VwNM). Would greatly appreciate it, as I have appreciated all the previous work you've done Sylow and Byrth. Thank you for your time. :)

Ninja edit: At the moment, currently not looking into Neo-Nyzul options since I'm not one for pick ups and don't have a 6-man group just yet.
