Square Enix is holding a “Winter of RPGs” campaign on the PlayStation Network in the U.S. over the next two months
Here’s the schedule:
Chrono Cross– November 8th
Final Fantasy V– November 22nd
Final Fantasy VI– December 8th
Wonder if there will be more then just these 3 =Q, seeing as how i never beat 5 or 6 before they got stolen im looking forward to it!

Wonder if it will be the original FF6 from the SNES, or the updated version that was released for a portable system more recently?
tbh im hopeing the portable ver or PS1 ver. cuz they maintained the "hard" ver from the orriginal japanese super famicom.. not the easy mode NA snes ver
I didn't have troubles with the PS1 version at all lol
yea but compared to the NA snes ver the NA snes ver was cake. Adamant wepeon for exmp. went down quick on the NA Snes ver while i spent bout 30-40 min on the ps1 at a higher lvl lol

beat CC 100% when it came out. was my 1st ps1 game actualy but FFVI is on the list so , eh lol
Personally I already own all of these games (FF5+6 in both GBA and PS1 formats) but definitely will be looking forward to CC, in fact I think I will go fire up the PS3 and see if the PSN is updated yet.

If I had to take a guess, it'll probably be the version from Final Fantasy Anthology. I doubt you'd see a packing of the SNES version or the GBA version. They're probably still licensed by Nintendo.
Which if that's the case and these are the ones from Anthology, I'll gladly pass on them and stick with the GBA versions. The translation and gameplay were pretty buggy from what I remember. But you never know, they might be ground up builds? (I could be wrong in my recollection, it's been years since I played the PSX versions of them.)
V and VI are on PSN in Japan already and they're direct ports of the PSone versions (basically SNES version with added FMV sequences). Hopefully these are the last ports they milk out before we see fully fledged remakes a la FFIV DS.
FFIV is the only SNES title with gameplay/difficulty tweaks based on region. In fact I don't think any two versions of the game have exactly the same difficulty. V and VI have content alterations per NOA's censoring but the gameplay remains unchanged.

I own all 3 of those games in the other formats but still i think i'm more excited about CC then the rest of them... FFVI is the best FF by far but i just love CC's music and story.
Its the PS1 version from 1999, surprised they waited so long before you guys had it available....

I'm actually more excited about CC too lol. And I'll probably get some flack for it but I liked it better than Chrono Trigger <_< /hides from rabid fans
lol, CT's story was good but CC's was more in depth. its probably why i liked it so much.
I'm the most excited about Chrono Cross as well. Mostly because I've played FF6 to death.
I was reading reviews for CC and it seems like everyone either loves it or hates it. It's been so long since I've played it, so I'm gonna give it a shot and see what happens.

yra FF5 and 6 will be the PS1 versions.
i was all excited when i read the title of this post...... then i realized my ps3 will already play my copies of those 3 games >.> now as soon as i get my memcard adapter cord i will be in business lol

yes it is, don't listen to draylo he doesn't even like...well anything.
if you really want to try it just download a gba emulator and play it on the pc just to try it out. i did this recently just to give it another playthrough. enjoyable playthrough everytime.
if anything you need to play it so you can experience what it means to fight a real boss

I play FF3 so much the battery in the SNES cartridge gave out... so one day I turned it on and all my games were wiped. Most horrible day of my childhood.
