okay quick silly question "cave cherax" thier skill cap is 110 right? Been fishing them 3-4 weeks now and currently have 2.9k dwarf pugils, so im wondering if there cap is 110 should i stay there till 110 then go after matsya for my shawl or shourld i quit them with so many dwarf's and move to another fish to cap skills??

so i thought i'd try and fish for titanictus because i could use them to skill fishing and bone craft, so far tried meatballs and rogue rig without much luck...

Try sliced bluetail and or minnows.

I just started fishing for Matsya, where am i supposed to fish these exactly, i know in Vunkel (S) on the East bridges but i keep hearing people saying take a mule or go BSt or SMN to deal with the mobs that pop on the bridge. The bridge i went to had no mobs on it at any point at all, also went 1/20 on Matsya/Bait. i guess this is about right?

There are no mobs on the bridge, you fish up the mobs and hold them.

There are no mobs on the bridge, you fish up the mobs and hold them.
So once they are up you cant fish them up again?
Mobs will pop if you catch them while fishing, you can just use sneak to avoid the aggro.
when they say dealing with mobs they mean the monsters you can fish up, if you can catch and hold all 5 mobs then you are not going to waste bait on monsters. Items dont take bait if they are caught.
Only thing that will consume bait are jellyfish and matsya.
Think i catch about 10matsya about every 30-40bait, was some time agot i last did, got a bit frustrated of it.

It's not about aggro, you fish them up so that your bait isn't wasted on mobs and has a chance to catch more Matsya and not mobs:P

Nashmau if you want to spend less time fishing each day to hit cap.
Sole if you want a higher gil total each day.
I haven't done Nashmau under level 50 so I don't know how the skillups are, but I do know that shall shells give you a hell of a lot of them. I would average 4 skill ups a day on those things without the skill up ring.

I'm liking the fact that with Sardine Balls, I'm not raging over lost minnows if my line breaks 4-5 times in a row. Just fish the sardines up on a mule not to mess with that 200/day cap. 10 stacks of bait a day seems to be enough.
I spend an entire day's fishing allotment on sardines, ends up being close to 25 stacks of sardines. That ends up lasting me about a 6 days on haks. Rinse and repeat.
Now to camp the AH for earth crystals, or go to sky and farm clusters.
