Line breaks and rod breaks do decrease with higher skill. But it will still happen since of the weight.
@100 I'm not breaking my lushangs on gugs NEARLY as bad as i thought... It's still fairly often but I'd say once or twice max per boat ride. Quite often just once for me. I seem to be keeping up semi-ok compared to all the ebisu people on the boat with me atm.
0/180 on gugs... *** this gd galka.......... seriously.... just did 100 in a row.

Also, this has been proved before, you don't have to deplete their health all the way. Yes it sure does help, but if there is 1/4th or 1/8th of their health left, you can still pull them in.
Yea, it's a safeguard in case you are trying to hit enter/x and they recover a bit.

I know someone that bought almost 1,000 gugs and finally got theres before the 1k mark. I know someone that bought almost 1,000 gugs and finally got theres before the 1k mark. Kalilla sold me the 100 >_> And i purchased 40 of the prior 40-50 I caught today lol.... And to make matters better in my frustration I ran right back to the ship to get more gugs and I just did 2 full rides with 0 gug catches and 3 broken rods. Think I need to take a break for tonight before I break something >_> Carbuncle.Asina

I went 1/751, I know Nibu from carbuncle went 1k+ on gugs
between 30,000 and 40,000 randomly sometimes.

Yikes... As much as I like making money off of people selling them gugs, I don't like fighting for minnows for Hakuyrus even more.
I just wish this ***wasn't a 20 minute boat ride that constantly started and ended... the rod breaking and bait isn't a huge deal to me since I can fix my own.... It's just the constant effort of zoning and waiting.....

At least it gives you a break, do some push-ups to push out frustration or fix a sandwich.

For the contest I believe. Unless servers have different fish, lightest weight gug determines the winners this time.

We're talking about the weight of fish breaking lines. Not fishing contest. :P
He said the price of gugs are 40k sometimes, and I gave the reason for the rise in price. Of course it could just be people raising the price for other reasons.
I'm tired and misread that entire thing lol....... ignore me I'm off to bed.

I think 15k each was the norm, 12k with the right sellers. Granted, the economy was very different back then, so that amount of money may still be equivalent to current prices when you consider inflation and whatnot. When I was really strapped for cash, I began selling/trading any piece of equipment I had (if it was worth 100k+) to get more fish. I once traded my Blau Dolch for 125 gugrusaurus, which I was originally regretting (it was worth 1.5 million at the time, but I struck a deal where no matter what # trade it was, if I got the shoot from one of those fish, the seller got to keep the dagger and the rest of his fish). I think that was one of the few times I came out REALLY ahead in the long run. edit: I would even go so far as to say it may be to a buyer's advantage to take into account the seller's personal record, and how often they have seen others get the item. If they believe the item is going to drop sooner rather than later, striking one of these deals where you get the seller to take a bit of a gamble can definitely benefit you in the end. In my case, I didn't care if I traded that dagger and I got the saber shoot on the 5th turn-in, which would mean I'd "spent" 300k per fish; I just wanted to get that rod (my record was already abysmal at this time). Back on my grind ; ; 6 down so far today.... It takes me foreverrrrr to fish up 100 :( I like to do 100 at a time.
Turned in another 20 for absolutely nothing after running out of 12 stacks of meatballs..... just finished another round of crafting... /sigh round 2 here we go..... 15 stacks :| Bought 26 liks....
