For Alchemy, I've always made sure my differences were set by keeping gear on or off. Does this matter for fishing?
No, and it's never mattered for alchemy either, not sure why you'd ever take them off (barring fanatic crafting mathematical speculation bs)

I have a Question if anyone can help with an Answer:
On Wiki it says you need the Fishermen's Stall and another item from:
Fisherman's Signboard - Moglification: Fishing
Fishing Hole Map - Moghancement: Fishing Skill
The Big One - Moghancement: Fishing Skill
to get Mega Moglification: Fishing
However, I have the Stall and a 9 Drawer almirah and I got "Mega Moglification: Fishing"
So do you just need the highest water aura in your moghouse instead?

+4 with stall onry, +5 with stall and the big one or fishing hole map. the stall itself, with nothing else, gives +4 skill.

As far as regular stalls? I've tested with Wood and Leather, this was over a year ago and it's been pretty well known since then.
Fishing was confirmed the other day, however there was never any reason to believe that it wasn't the case.

Hrmm so if the stall is all that's needed for megamog then are the rest just for collection sake or do they help as well? I've only got apron so far so I'm guessing my priority will be wader > stall?

I dont feel like going to fish haks due to so much running and me having so little inventory space til i sell my low level gear. Im fishing Kokuryu but bite rate is a pain in the rear. Is there any other fish like these that sell good?

I've made much more gil off ryugu titans, lik, and gugrusarus in the past few weeks than I did on hakuryu's (unless I just got one of the many bots available and left a bot running all night like everyone else does). I've got a few people who buy lik/gugrusaurus almost as fast as I can catch them at 5k under AH price. Even got me a free all night cruor leech party for myself and my whm mule by selling those Lik's 5k under AH price.
Have also got 2 mercurial swords since the skill cap update on titans netting 2.5 and 2.75 million each. Not counting the sword sales or the free cruor I got on my 2 characters, I'd have to catch 50+ hakuryus a night and that's not going to happen without a bot if I want to get any sleep.
At 100 with Ebisu, Titans only take ~10-15 seconds to reel in too and you can usually just hold your rod in a single direction and it reels itself in with a little extra time. Meatballs much cheap and stack to 99 ... but I've given enough reasons.

Hey guys. I'm currently sitting at 48 in fishing and was thinking about getting back into it after not fishing anything for probably 3 years or more. I'm just wondering if there is a "go to" guide for fishing that people use when skilling up on the road to 100. I still have my Lu that almost got sold on a variety of occasions.
I checked wiki for guides and found a lot. Some for carp route, some for skill up etc. Not sure how old/relevant they are at this point though. This one seems decent -->

I suggest you look at the gear you're keeping. If the item is not worth 12k (yay taxes), npc it. Otherwise, sell it on the AH. Waiting on cheaper items to move while a fish surpasses them in value would not be efficient. Honestly, I would just npc anything not worth 30k+ out of hassle reduction. After all, Haks are essentially the same fish but outside abyssea, eh?

or now with the 600 stones we all have just fish the ones in abyssea!
There are fishing topics that come up now and then but mainly are asking a question for a single answer. I know there are many fishers that visit these forums so this is an attempt to get people involved and have a little fun discussing one and only one thing, fishing!
I know Blue Gartr has a Fishing topic already, but I would like to see this community get involved a little bit and talk, since not everyone visits BG. I would love to have a topic just for fishers including veteran fishers, casual fishers, and even players just starting out and want to ask a few questions without being embarrassed about starting a whole topic for a simple answer they could not find.
I only ask that you keep any bot talk to a minimum, preferably none. [Moderator edit: No bot talk] I want this to be a place where we can discuss anything from GP items of the day to what lure/bait to use or what area is best. A quick mention of how you're doing on the lu shang/ebisu quest, how you're doing getting your fishing items from Grounds of Valor, that item you're saving your GP up for, or how much you wish you could hurt Zaldon for not finding anything in your fish for the 10,000th time. Your lucky moment streaks and the moments when you have nothing come your way and question why you started fishing in the first place. Anything that comes to mind, think of it as the random thoughts thread for fishing.
